Looking for a last minute getaway, we booked into Ambers hoping that it would be adequate for a few days of intensive writing. To our great delight we discovered a wonderful gem that will now become a regular writing retreat. The gite, off to the side of the main house, was fabulous! Beautifully appointed with Provencal details, the gite was large, luxurious, completely self sufficient and so picturesque. The gorgeous, authentically French drapes opened onto a little courtyard with bistro table and a perfectly private country view. If all this wasn't enough to enchant us, we were invited to breakfast in the main house each morning and oh, what a spread! Terri lavished us with delicious fresh and local produce and a wonderful cooked meal. She happily accommodated our dietary requirements and we really enjoyed chatting with her about travel and work and study. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was a serendipitous find and we will certainly be back to stay very soon.
