The 6mx12m salt water pool is surrounded by a lovely stone wall sheltering it from any wind and it is also gated for security and the safety of young children. For those who want to burn off some excess energy or escape from the midday heat we have added a games room converted from an old stone barn. It has a full size table tennis table, professional table football, large air hockey table and dartboard, as well as a fridge, stepping machine, running machine, wobble plate and a seating area. For the younger members of the family there is a large trampoline and garden games available. We also have a number of bikes to hire if you prefer to explore the area under your own steam. The gardens are mainly laid to lawn and are perfect for strolling around in the warm evening sunshine contemplating the activities for the following day, of course a glass of wine to aid in your decision making is a must! The large purpose built BBQ area adjoining the pool house has a vine covered terrace overlooking the lake with valley views beyond. Subtle lighting and lanterns adorn this little enclave. Mixed with the warm evening air and the sound of lapping water from the pool, it creates a perfect ambiance for that alfresco experience that you crave all winter for! Fishing in our private lake is a great way to introduce the children to a new sport. We have both rods and poles for hire and as the lake is teaming with lots of small and medium sized fish - on the first drop of the line you are almost guaranteed to get a nibble! Exceptionnel

Definitely the best gite we have ever experienced.
We used to live in this area and were delighted to find a gite of the very highest standard in a superb position on the outskirts of the stunning village of Bardigues. The owners, Allison and Nick Feeley, could not be better hosts. We hired their gite with another couple and the spacious accommodation was perfect for our requirements. Allison's 'welcome pack' was amazing and far more than we have ever received elsewhere. We can't wait to return.

A great place for an autumn break.
We have just returned from a very sunny 4 day stay at Le Farat. This was a return visit for us after a long break and it was great to be back. We tried out the Go-Karting (great fun for all), sampled the local wine, ate some wonderful food and practised yoga on the lawn!

Perfect in every way
We have just finished a glorious week at Le Farat where we stayed in the pretty Le Pigeonnier gite. It is full of character, space, classic furniture, a very comfortable bed and all the kitchen facilities you need for a self-catering holiday. Allison and Nick Feeley were wonderful hosts and were extremely helpful without being intrusive in any way. They let us know where the markets were, the prettiest historic towns in the area and some great restaurants to go to. They also provide tons of information to read about the area around Auvillar and Bardigues where Le Farat is situated. They keep both the interiors and exteriors beautifully maintained and the swimming pool is clean, well kept and well equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas. Le Farat was the perfect base for us - there is a great market and wonderful canal walk in Moissac, there is a wine festival in ancient Auvillar and other beautiful, ancient towns to visit such as Lauzerte and Montjoi. We feel we have found France's prettiest region and we will definitely be back. There is some stunning countryside around Le Farat and you can easily drive to pretty hilltop towns to see more incredible views. There are rivers, canals and ancient French architecture to enjoy. There is fresh produce to buy practically every day in a local market - and of course a wonderful boulangerie close by to get your morning croissants. The region is rich in traditional and fresh produce such as peaches, strawberries, apples, prunes, wine, apricots (delicious in June), fresh asparagus, cheese, foie gras and duck. If you live your life around food (like us) then this is the perfect place to be to explore the fantastic array of treats you can find. You'll always find somewhere good to eat and if you're having a night in at Le Farat you can enjoy a barbecue with the delicious meats you've picked up in the local markets. There are wonderful, warm people in this region of France and our hosts are the same. They couldn't have given us a nicer holiday and it has to be one of the best, most relaxing and enjoyable times we have ever had. Thank you so much and see you next year!

All the family together in wonderful accommodation for two weeks
This is a fabulous location with two Gites and a B&B on site. We took both Le Farat Gites for our extended family of 9. All the accommodation is beautifully presented and all the fixtures are of quality. Each of the four bedrooms had its own en suite. The hosts Allison and Nick could not have been more helpful. Although it was late May when we arrived, it was a bit chilly so we were provided with logs for the wood burning stoves. We were also offered hot water bottles which we did not need. The beds were luxurious and comfortable. Lovely location a 15 minute walk from an excellent restaurant and two and a half miles from a beautiful village with an artisan bakery, grocer shop and a number of good restaurants. A truly wonderful place to relax.

Second time even better
Returned to Le Farat for a second time and stayed in the newly converted gite. The refurbishment has been skillfully and imaginatively completed. The games room and the cycles are also a great addition. Excellent facilities and hosts in a lovely location we have booked again for next year.

Rest relaxation in comfort
Nick and Allison along with their delightful daughter have done everything to make your stay memorable; nothing is too much trouble for them thinking of your comfort. They are knowledgable of the area and give you any info you need. There is a beautiful pool which, sadly, due to inclement weather we weren't able to use; we were hoping for a lazy holiday in the sun sitting round the pool. If you are a walker there are a number of walks of varying lengths. The property is set in beautiful peaceful countryside so if it's peace and quiet you're looking for this is the place for you.

A fantastic place to base yourself to see the mid Pyrenesse
Le Farat is located in an ideal position between Bordeaux and Toulouse very near to the small village of Auvillar. The Gite is spacious and very well appointed with all that we needed. The pool is sensational and the games room has plenty to keep the kids (and adults) occupied. The grounds are well looked after and it is a pleasure sitting on the balcony just taking in the view and enjoying the fine produce that can be bought from the local markets and the wine that is produced at the vineyards close by. Our hosts Allison and Nick looked after our every need and made us feel very welcome. They imparted their local knowledge which enabled us to visit some sites a bit off the beaten track that are not necessarily well known. The church at the small village of La Chappelle was a highlight. This is an ideal location for families wanting to spend a few days...

About the neighborhood
Auvillar, listed as one of the prettiest villages in France, has both Mediaeval and Roman origins with cobbled streets, an unusual covered circular corn exchange and stunning views. The market is still used today as a focal point for village life and a weekly farmers market. The village has a butcher, a baker a corner shop, gift shops, tea shops, restaurants, a museum and tourist office, all the amenities you will need for your holiday. Nestled in its own little valley, Le Farat is Minutes from Auvillar in the Tarn et Garonne (dept 82), as yet a relatively un-discovered corner of Midi Pyrenees in South West France. It is renowned for its beautiful villages, stunning scenery, châteaux, fresh fruit, wine, Armagnac, foie gras, Agen prunes and much more. Just two hours South East of Bordeaux, under an hour from Toulouse and 7 hours from St Malo. It has easy road, rail and air access and is an area full of great things to explore and enjoy. Apart from the obvious tourist attractions there are lots of other things to keep you occupied, for example fishing (on site as well as in the river Garonne), golf, horse riding, sailing and windsurfing, walking, shopping, theme park if you want one! wine tasting at a local vineyard and many restaurants within 10 mins. We offer weekly afternoon wine tours to two local wine caves where we do the driving so you can do the drinking! ask for details. For those looking for a more modern approach to their holiday there is a large shopping town, a theme park with roller-coasters and a great go-karting track within half an hour! What more could you want.........oh yes the weather, guess what, you've got that too!
