Our lovely 17th century farmhouse can fit up to 12 people comfortably with the twelfth person having a substantial fold-up bed - a perfect set up for two families or a group of friends who want to holiday together.

In 2015 we invested in some major refurbishments with completely new kitchen, showers and bathrooms, new beds as well as some bedroom alterations, on top of our regular programme of upgrades. Monsoon showers were installed to freshen those tired limbs!

The large kitchen, with its long refectory table and AGA in the alcove, is ideal for those big holiday breakfasts and dinners. We have two living rooms, one with a 42" LCD SMART TV with FreeSat, Bluetooth Radio and DVD (perhaps the TV and games room for the youngsters?). WiFi available generally. One lounge has a woodburner stove and the other has an open fire. The hous...

This is the second time we have stayed here and it just gets better each time. The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is perfect for all your family and friends to gather around and the open fire in the main lounge is simply magical. All the rooms are decorated beautifully and the bathrooms and...

Management response:

We booked for New Years Eve weekend 2016/17. Our family consisting of 2 adults and 3 children and our friends, 4 adults and 1 child. We arrived early and the housekeeper was still cleaning and preparing the house. She was so helpful and directed us to places to eat. She lit the fires and the house was most welcoming on...

For the 2nd time a group of us aged 19-21 descended on Clifford House, travelling from all over the UK for a weeks fun. The house is incredible and well kitted out, the boot room is very useful & the showers are AMAZING (there's a really tall guy in our group who said its the first shower he's actually been...

Additional Rate and Availability Information
Other than short winter breaks (which may be agreed on an ad hoc basis), all bookings are for seven nights, from Saturday to Saturday. Some flexibility may be allowed during the Christmas and New Year period, to take account of the days on which Christmas Day and New Year's Day fall.

You may only arrive after 3pm on the day of arrival, and we ask you to leave the property by 10am on the day of departure (unless prior arrangement has been agreed with the owner). Please help us by observing this rule – it takes several hours to clean, service and “turn around” the house for the next guests.

It may be possible for you to arrive earlier or leave later, particularly if it is not a Saturday or it is in the off-season, but please check with us first. Even if we agree to this, you must double-check with us one or two days before your holiday, because if we have subsequently taken a booking adjacent to yours, you will have to observe the 1...

About the neighborhood
The village of Kettlewell is only a ten minute drive down the valley (Kettlewell is where they filmed "Calendar Girls") and Grassington, the lovely old market village, is a further 15 minutes along the road. Skipton, "Gateway to the Dales", is the large market town closest to us, where you can do your normal food and general shopping (that said, there is a handy village stores in Buckden itself, where you can get your basics: paper, milk and postcards).
