The Garden House is situated in 18 acres of stunning gardens and woodland. Fancy a row on the lake?
The Garden House is a modern barn conversion finished to the highest luxury standards.
The kitchen area is exceptionally light and airy, well equipped and a dream to use.
With underfloor heating, the lounge area is a great place for up to four people to chill out.
The woodburning stove provides the focal point for cosy winter evenings.
Your private, sun-drenched patio is straight outside the French doors; with parking spaces beyond.
As shown, bedroom 1 has 'zip-and-link' beds, which can convert into a luxury double.
Bedroom 2 also has a very comfortable modern kingsize bed.
Each bedroom has a luxury en-suite shower room with underfloor heating.
Here's the glorious view west over the vegetable garden, as seen from the upstairs window.
The Garden House has private parking for two cars alongside the private patio.
The summer house by the lake. Described by a guest as 'a magical place'.
You're welcome to use the summer house for a meal by the lake, or to relax and read a book.
The planting, landscaping and views are inspirational. Don't forget your camera!
Wildlife abounds. A baby grass snake basks on a rock in the warm sun.
This is the view from the hide, where—if you're lucky—you might observe a busy kingfisher.
A peacock butterfly alights on a flower to sip the nectar.
Under a hot sun, carp bask in the warm water of the lake margin in height of summer.
A woodland path wends its way around the lake, here seen in the winter sun.
In autumn, a majestic white stag stands in a field which forms part of the 18 acres.
With 18 acres to explore, every turn holds new vistas and delights.
The woodland path winds along the stream. Keep quiet and you might see deer in the shady glades.
A long walk for little legs through the widlflower meadow and back to the Garden House.
Kerry & John, 2 of our guests, were married locally and used our garden for their photos.

The Garden House is the perfect getaway for a family of four, or two couples, wishing for the peace, quiet and clean air of deep Devon countryside. Found down an unmade lane, The Garden House is a recent conversion of a stable block that once served a nearby stately home. With underfloor heating, heat-recovery ventilation, solar hot water + electricity, you'll be warm and cosy in this beautifully-appointed dwelling. Note that there are no 'hidden extras': the price is all-inclusive.

Upstairs are 2 spacious bedrooms, one with a king-sized double bed, the other with your choice of either twin beds or—by zipping and linking—a second king-sized double. Both bedrooms have luxurious en-suites with large showers and East-facing windows to catch the morning sun.

Downstairs is a well-equipped luxurious kitchen/dining area with a frid...

Down a rather rough road, but worth it. No view from house, but lovely grounds to wander in. House was warm and had every amenity you could want. Good little Village shop. Enjoyed a very relaxed week.

Management response:

Thanks, Anne. We're very pleased you enjoyed your week. The village shop is not something we mention but it's useful to know you found it good.

My husband, two children aged 4 & 6 and myself stayed in The Garden House 13th-20th August. We were amazed when we walked it, the pictures on here do not do it justice - it was huge and to such a luxurious standard everything a family could need and more. We went out every day but came back every evening for dinner and to relax as it was a perfect layout for cooking, playing and...

Management response:

Well, what can we say? Thank you so much for your stunning review, Josie! We hope to see you again soon. J&A

Everything as described. Exquisite attention to detail in both design and execution of this remodelling. It is a beautiful cottage. Hosts were readily accessible while being non-intrusive. Wonderfully quiet, excellent beds and bedding. Ample space for four adults (2 couples). Dartmoor and the Devon and Cornish coasts both within 1/2 hr drive. Our week here simply flew by.

Management response:

Thanks for the review, Mike, and we're so glad you enjoyed your week. Do come back again in summer.

Lovely holiday cottage, with nicely decorated rooms and everything you need for a lovely break away. We had a lovely time, was met by the lovely John who showed us everything that the cottage had to offer, including where we could walk round the property and how to get to lake. It was suggested that we needed wellingtons as it was muddy, but thankfully due to the gorgeous weather we managed to get down to...

Thanks for the review.

We booked The Garden House at short notice and we're SO glad we did! What a fantastic place - lovely accommodation in gorgeous surroundings! The Garden House is finished to the highest standards - nothing has been overlooked. The underfloor heating was a treat, and my other half channelled his inner Bear Grylls every night to get the log burner going. It wasn't needed for warmth, but just watching it was really relaxing. The bedrooms...

Management response:

Thanks for the review, Cathy. We'd love to see you both again sometime when the weather's warmer!
