Great location with very friendly neighbours. We sampled some of the lovely local restaurants and they didn’t disappoint. Nearby Minerve and Carcassonne were two stunning places to visit. We will return!

About the neighborhood
Trausse (pop 500) is 25 mins drive from Carcassonne, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. It is surrounded by vineyards of Grenache, Carignan, and Syrah, this being the centre of the renowned Minervois wine region. The village has a epicerie (grocery shop) with daily deliveries from the nearby boulangerie, a hairdresser, cafe, a restaurant, wine cooperative, three wineries, post office, and a communal tennis club. Four bus services run between the village and the nearest large town, Carcassonne, daily except Sunday.
Getting around
Although a car is recommended, morning and afternoon bus services run to Carcassonne. The area is great for cycling.
