Excellent place to enjoy the nature and peace of the Subeticas, with culture of Andalucia just behind the corner!
This cortijo is an excellent vacation residence for a family or group of friends. The view from the terras on the olive trees and the mountians is magnificant. This cortijo, renovated by Antonio himself, provides all you need for a good vacation, just look to the pictures on the site.
An overview of wath we visited in the area, The Subeticas mountains, hiking; Romantic route, Priego de Cordaba, Cabra, Lucena, Zuheros, Luque; Cycling on the Via Verde; Cordoba; Granada; Madinat Al-Zahra, Route to lake Iznahar; etc.

Fabulous
We stayed in the Cortijo for one week, and found it really fabulous. We searched for a house with absolute privacy and found it here. In the middle of many olive trees we found the rest we needed after months of hard work. The Cortijo was very clean, the beds were good. At the swimming pool there were nice beds. The owner (Antonio) was very friendly and helpful.
We liked it very much!!!

"Maravilloso lugar con un entorno y un alojamiento inmejorable"
Hemos pasado un fin de semana en familia genial! El lugar donde está ubicado es alucinante, ideal para desconectar y disfrutar de la naturaleza. Las estancias son muy amplias, decoradas con un encanto especial y completamente acondicionada para todos. Te sientes como en tu propia casa.
Destacar la limpieza y el trato familiar de sus dueños, Antonio y Manoli que desde el primer momento nos acogieron con una simpatía extraordinaria.
¡Sin lugar a dudas repetiremos la experiencia y no tardando mucho!

La perfección hecha casa rural
El cortijo entresierras cumple una de las premisas básicas de una casa rural: que esté aislada y sin vecinos. Es decir, que no molestes y no te molesten. Y por eso escogimos esta casa, la cual tiene cinco habitaciones y dos baños, dando todas las estancias al salón.
La casa tiene todo lo necesario para hacer una estancia perfecta: paellera, bicis, mesa de ping-pong, lavavaijillas, horno, microondas, menaje completísimo...e incluso wi-fi, hecho que se agradece. Sin duda, volveremos a visitarla.

Beautiful and peaceful house in the hills
A great house in a stunning location. It is a tranquil place for peace, calm, rest, and relaxation. Up in the olive groves in the hills, up its own track. The views are actually more beautiful than in the photos - you can see for miles and there are no other properties in view.
The property is about an hour and a half north of Malaga airport (the main airport for the area), and is in easy driving reach of Cordoba, Granada, and Seville.
The villa has an excellent good-sized swimming pool which provides a place for reading, swimming, and resting.
There is a large terrace with tables for eating lunch and dinner. There is also a good well-equipped kitchen in the house (as well as a barbecue outside). You get the whole house to yourself and there are 5 bedrooms and lots of beds.
The owner, Antonio, is incredibly helpful and friendly.
A great place to stay. We were a group of 5 adults and can thoroughly recommend it.

Schitterende lokatie, in totale rust
Cortijo Entressierras is prachtig gelegen tussen de Olijfbomen in het Subbetica natuurpark. Antonio is een uitzonderlijk vriendelijke gastheer en zeer behulpzaam. Hij gidste ons naar de lokatie en leidde ons rond in het vakantiehuis waar hij ontzettend trots op is.
De uitzonderlijke ligging en de vriendelijke eigenaar zijn de grote troeven. Wie houd van rust en de natuur komt hier volop aan zijn trekken. Vanuit het huis kan je uitstappen maken in Andalusië. Malaga, Granada, Cordoba en Sevilla liggen binnen een straal van 2 uur rijden. Ook kleinere dorpen in de omgeving zijn bezoekenswaard: Iznajar, Lucena, Priego de Cordoba, Carcabuye zijn ook leuke locaties die makkelijk te bereiken zijn.
De woning bied alle benodigde comfort zonder luxe. De keuken is basic ingericht maar heeft alles wat nodig is. Hetzelfde geldt voor de Woonruimte; de slaapkamers en de badkamers. Leuk voor wie met kinderen komt is de speelruimte en ping pong tafel. Voor de woning is er een ruim terras met tuinmeubelen. Deze zijn wat verouderd. Een mooi zwembad zorgt voor koelte, want tijdens ons bezoek in de eerste week van Oktober was het echt zomers.
Wij hebben echt 100% genoten van onze week!

Un entorno agradable
Hemos estado ocho personas en fin de semana. Por desgracia el tiempo no ha acompañado para hacer senderismo pero las condiciones de la casa han favorecido nuestra estancia. La casa está muy bien, muy cómoda, bien acondicionada. Está aislada con las ventajas que esto tiene, ideal para vivir con tranquilidad. La casa está preparada para realizar actividades como bicicletas, senderismo, etc. Muy amables los dueños. Volveremos en otra ocasión, a ver si con otro tiempo meteorológico

Excelente Cortijo para descansar y dicertirte
Llegamos un sábado para pasar una semana y Antonio nos estaba esperando, nos acompaño y explico todos los detalles.
La casa esta perfecta, completa te suministran todo hasta los pequeños detalles, como el agua, especies, etc., Los críos disfrutaron de la piscina que estaba en excelente estado, el lugar es encantador, rodeado de olivares por los cuatro costados, sin molestar y nadie te molesta.
Referente a Antonio, el anfitrión es una persona encantadora siempre dispuesto a solucionar cualquier problema con una amabilidad fantástica. Recomendable al 100%

Welcome to the Real Andalucia
I have written this review in English to encourage more people from the UK to visit rural Andalucia to truly experience the amazing culture and hospitality on offer in the region. We like to holiday away from the usual tourist spots and always have a great experience. This trip our travelling party was a family group, two adults (in our 40’s) and children aged 16 and 24. We flew into Seville airport and drove to the cortijo (approximately 2 hour journey).
Firstly, the photos on the website do not do the property justice. The location is utterly amazing - set in a beautiful olive grove on a mountainside near Carcabuey. The views are stunning and it is completely private.
The cortijo is very rustic and traditional but has everything at hand to make your stay comfortable. As a family we enjoyed tapas nights, barbeques and use of the outdoor paella cooker. The children enjoyed the pool, games room, the wifi and the wildlife. Nearby in Carcabuey, Cabra and Lucena there are plenty of supermarkets, grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacies, cash points etc so you can stock up on the essentials.
Antonio was the most wonderful host, welcoming and always on hand to look after us as well as the Cortijo Pool and Grounds. He was very patient with us due to our limited spanish speaking skills but between his English and our Spanish we got along just fine.
Towels and linen were provided and Antonio brought fresh linen and towels up to the cortijo for our second week. He replaced gas bottles, took away our rubbish/recycling and offered advice/answered any questions we had about the area. Antonio also picked and offered us fresh figs from the grounds and left us a jug of olive oil produced from his olive grove and the surrounding co-operative. Later we discovered this and other regional goodies could be brought in a little shop (Aceite de Oliva) on the way to Preigo. We called to the shop before coming home to stock up with olive oil for us and gifts for other family members. The service from Christina Sanchez was fabulous and she even bubble wrapped everything once we mentioned flying home.
We enjoyed trips to Carcabuey where there is the most wonderful patisserie/cake shop called ‘Pasteleria Artesanal Paulina Martos’. We ordered a birthday cake for our daughter who turned 16 whilst we were away and the care and love that clearly went into the cake was amazing. I must admit we visited again for more cake and iced tea which were equally as yummy. There will be several trips here when we visit again.
We also visited Cordoba both the old town including the Victoria Market (food hall) and the main shopping centre El Arcangel. Parking was free and unlimited at the shopping centre which meant we were free to explore the city without worrying about the time. We enjoyed a great iced coffee at the Victoria market and they even catered for lactose free customers. Again the service was impeccable.
We also cancelled plans to visit other places further afield like Seville as we were enjoying relaxing at the villa so much. We will be visiting again and can not wait to show Antonio our improved spanish !
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in a stunning setting look no further than Cortijo Entreseirra !

Paradise in a hidden valley
We were 2 couples staying for 10 days. After a delayed flight, we were met by Antonio who took us to the house. After about 3Km up a decent gravel road, we arrived and wow - what a location....utterly stunning! 360 deg unspoilt views with no sight or sign of other habitation, not even a power line. The pool was beautifully clean and welcoming, surrounded by plenty of chairs and loungers and a shower. The upper terrace has a large table perfect for eating under dappled shade.
The house is charming, quirky and comfortable with all conveniences and plenty of hot water for the showers. We did have a problem with the WiFi, but Antonio went above and beyond, getting a replacement box the next day and coming to fit it at 10.00 p.m.
The location couldn't be more perfect if you're after complete peace and tranquillity, not even a distant barking dog to disturb the quiet, only the chirping of sparrows and a faint background hum of bees and other insects. There is plenty of other wildlife....flocks of choughs, a few partridge and we even spotted a Hoopoe which I'd never seen before. Around 9.30 every night, we were visited by a small fox who sat patiently outside the front door awaiting a bowl of dog food which appeared to be much appreciated.
Nearest small shops are in Carcabuey but there's a large Mercadona in Priego de Cordoba about 20 mins away with very good meat and fresh fish. Closest restaurant is La Zamora only 5mins which has a good range of reasonably priced decent food. Also, carnivores should check out 'Vaquena' on the way to Cabra….amazing beef.
