"We had seen Noosa Sound cottage from cruising on the river and decided it looked a delightful place to stay,
We looked it up on the internet and very much liked what we saw and booked it for a week's holiday.
Well our breath was quite taken away when we actually arrived and saw how beautiful it actually was from the moment we crossed the private bridge that led to the cottage, we passed the family of swans resting on their nest at the edge of the inner mooring.
Noosa Sound cottage lived up to and surpassed my dreams, it was absolutely immaculate, cosy and comfortable, every room was filled with everything you would ever need and more.
My words to my husband were “I think I've died and gone to heaven”
The views from the large patio windows took in the beauty of the gardens leading down to the river, where many happy hours were spent catching fish by my husband.
We spent a very relaxing time enjoying the lovely garden which was so well maintained, we enjoyed many happy lunches & drinks reading, relaxing and soaking up the lovely tranquillity.
We watched with interest the family of swans going about the daily activities with the signets growing bigger each day.
We enjoyed walking into the village and getting our daily fresh rolls cold meats and provisions from the array of wonderful local shops, stopping on our way for a drink or two at the village pub (New Inn) before heading back to our cottage.
I don't think you could ask for more, the setting, the comfort, the sheer beauty of the cottage and its large gardens, the relaxing atmosphere, wildlife and of course the fishing."

Another lovely week spent at Noosa Sound although totally unexpected. My wife and I have spent many relaxing holidays at this wonderful riverside property over many years and when we tried to book earlier this year we discovered the dates were already booked so had to book elsewhere. On arrival at our destination we discovered the cottage we booked was terrible and fortunately I had received an email the previous day saying Noosa was available due to a late cancellation, a quick call to as always helpful owner Val and our holiday was saved. The reason for this waffle is make a very important point about holiday accommodation verses price. We have stayed at places in the Horning area many times, some more expensive and some cheaper than Noosa Sound but none ever come close to the peace and tranquility this extremely comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage provides.
Any time of the year is perfect to sit and watch the river go by and enjoy all the various wildlife that comes with it and the local pubs and restaurants are always welcoming as are the local people, I rarely write reviews about anything but have written several about this property as it thoroughly deserves it and so do the owners for their attention to detail and many well chosen upgrades over the years to make this such a great holiday destination to spend a totally relaxing break.

Early Autumn break
Our first time visiting this lovely property and we were not disappointed. A lovely location, marvellous garden and house. Effectively, you’re on your own island, surrounded by water, with different and wonderful views in all directions. Although the weather wasn’t the best, we took advantage of the hostelries in the village - decent food and beer, but the highlight was Bure River Cottage restaurant. Its own reviews on TA say it all. There’s a lot to see and do in the area, so the house is an ideal base. If you like fishing, it’s also an ideal spot to spend a few productive hours.
The one thing we struggled with was keeping our dog out of the water - she loves to swim, but the river is fast flowing and very deep; and keeping her off the light-coloured carpets - the garden and paths were often wet and muddy. This is not a comment about the house, but advice for those who have a dog and are considering staying at this wonderful place.

Very comfortable accommodation
I’ve been 11 years running, enjoyed every moment and very comfortable accommodation. Right by the main river side, ideal for fishing. I would recommend this accommodation, very relaxing watching the word (and boats) go by. Clean and tidy so can’t rate highly enough.

Great visit to Noosa sound
We had a great stay at Noosa sound, the location is amazing, great views of the river and ideal for fishing. A short walk to the local pubs and shops in this beautiful little village. Noosa sound was well equipped and included a welcome gift which was greatly appreciated. Communication with the owners was easy for any queries we had and made our stay enjoyable. We would stay here again.

Home from home
Why do people keep going back to this property? well that's because it is beautiful! Our fourth visit and booked again for next year, there is more than one person who has written it feels like coming home, and that's because it does, the minute you step through the door everything else is forgotten about for the holiday and you can really relax, we stayed for two weeks which is bliss and you just forget what day it is and what time it is because it's a little piece of heaven. The cottage is spotless and well thought out, it is homely and comfortable and the views are something else, the welcome gifts are thoughtful and very much appreciated. The property is well maintained by Val and Ian and the team of gardeners and cleaners who keep it looking immaculate. The wildlife is lovely, this year we didn't manage to see an otter but many others did, the kingfisher is stunning to watch in the lagoon, there are swans, herons, moorhens and plenty of geese and ducks too, at night and in the early hours you can hear tawny owls calling which is lovely. The village is a short walk and there are lots of places to eat and unwind, also a village shop and a gift shop, oh and don't forget the ice creams! We spend most of our time kayaking on the river and that's why we love to keep coming to Noosa it is the perfect base for what we love to do. This year is was less busy on the water with not as many pleasure boats as usual but still lots to see going along the river, we took the sunset cruise on the Southern Comfort on the first Tuesday evening which was a lovely 2 hr return trip along the river and at only £10 each it's a must. Always sad to leave and thrilled to return.

Tranquil Noosa Sound surrounded by nature, amazing
We had a fantastic 2 weeks at Noosa. You walk over the bridge & it is a welcoming place to stay, it does feel like 'home' this is our fourth visit & have already booked for next year. We enjoyed 2 weeks of kayaking, meandering along the rivers & broads. There is new decking where we enjoyed breakfast & new lighting which is handy when we have an evening paddle. The welcome goodies are much appreciated. Thank you again for a lovely visit. The living room is mainly glass so you can sit & watch the boats on the river & the herons & moorhens on the garden, it's so peaceful.

Absolute heaven!
This is not the first time we have stayed in this delightful cottage and it will not be the last. The minute you step through the door you feel at home. The cottage is kept immaculate by the housekeeper and the welcome treats are most appreciated. The bed is wonderful, like sleeping on a cloud! The cottage has everything you could possibly need. The garden is a haven for wildlife, you can see an abundance of birds, ducks and geese. If you are lucky, which we were, you can see an otter. The garden runs down to the river where you can watch the boats go by, so peaceful. The garden is well maintained and there are several places where you can sit and have a drink and take in the sights. The owners have made some wonderful improvements and Noosa just gets better and better, if that is possible! The lovely village of Horning is a few minutes walk away and well worth a visit. Noosa Sound is a great base to explore the rest of Norfolk and there is plenty to see. The cathedral city of Norwich is not too far away and I can recommend a visit. Noosa Sound is an utterly utterly peaceful place to spend your holiday.

Peaceful
Just spent two weeks in this idyllic property. Surrounded by water there is plenty of wildlife about . The river at the bottom of the garden is ideal for fishing, a net of 100lb plus on a regular early morning session, the local heron will come down to help you. Noosa is a very well maintained property by Val and Ian, not forgetting there team of gardeners and housekeeper. Due to its location it is a very peaceful place to stay. Only a short walk into Horning village to the local amenities.
