THE COTTAGE -

Avon Vale in the quiet village of Woodgreen is a small detatched cottage nestled in the woods of the beautiful New Forest. Actually situated on the Avon Valley Path, it is a walker's paradise with walks in every direction.You can literally walk straight out of the gate right into the forest, in the cottage there are OS maps of the local areas to help you explore.

Woodgreen village has a traditional pub (dog friendly) serving very good food & real ale. The village also has a wonderful community shop selling a large range of local produce, making it very possible not to have to use your car once you are here if you don't want to.

Avon Vale is in a great location local shop and pub walking distance. If you like walking it's in the ideal location and Georgina is a great host wood burner was a light and tea, coffee and cookie was there waiting for us your dog...More

Clean & tidy peaceful had a very nice time walking in the woods then coming back to the cottage. Nice touches with the tea coffee and biscuits. Owner Georgie was very helpful I enjoyed myself

About the neighborhood
The village of Woodgreen, Near Fordingbridge, which has its own special charm being situated overlooking the River Avon to the West, whilst the New Forest stretches away to the East.

The ancient New Forest landscape, where ponies and cattle are free to roam, is an ideal venue for walking, riding, cycling as well as offering many places of interest for its visitors - Beaulieu (abbey and motor museum), Bucklers Hard maritime museum, Lymington (yachting and trips to the Isle of Wight), Rockbourne Roman Villa, Breamore House, to name but a few.

The larger cities of Salisbury, Southampton and Bournemouth are also within easy driving distance and the small country town of Fordingbridge, 4 miles away, provides a good local shopping centre.
