The highest nearby peak, Ben McDhui, soars to 3001m above sea level. Barkly East is 60km away on a narrow and winding gravel road that must be driven with care. Rhodes, with its turn of the last century architecture and shady, tree-lined streets has retained its charm and, in July 1997, it was proclaimed a National Monument.
Attractions in the area include spectacular alpine flowers in summer, mountain-biking, birding, walks, rock art visits by prior arrangement, 4x4 trails or simply chilling.

Rhodes Detour!
We spend a lovely evening at the Inn. Cosy well stocked bar and we opted to have dinner in front of the fireplace. We were on our return leg back to the Western Cape and decided to make a detour via Rhodes.
What an amazing place with an absolute stunning setting. The Inn is also the pick up and drop off point for those visitors to the Tiffindel ski resort.
Try the Inn! Fantastic food, great hospitality and will definitely visit again!

Friendly Rhodes
Friendly staff welcomed us. Guests gathered in bar before dinner being served, and a lot of new friends were made. Being cold outside in August the rooms were warm with beautiful linen and warm bedding. All the beds had electric under blankets. Lovely breakfasts were served.
