Converted chapel -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Yorkley, Lydney, Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England
A Forest of Dean cottage, called The Old Chapel, is situated up a small lane, right next to woodland with wonderful walks right on the doorstep. As one of our guests succinctly put it 'we came away for a break and could not have found a nicer place'. The chapel has been sympathetically converted retaining much of its original character and charm. There is lots of pine cladding on both walls and ceilings which gives a wonderful feeling of warmth and relaxation. The floors are original oak. Candles in the evening and a beast of a wood burning fire make this an incredibly relaxing place to be. Bliss! Sitting on the sofa by the fire all you can see is a wonderful forest view... no houses!
Most of the accommodation is on the ground floor, including a large through lounge and dining room with 14 foot high ceilings giving a...

Interaction with guests
I usually respond quickly to all enquiries. I hate being kept hanging around and don't expect others to have to. We live in London so will not be there on arrival but there is a key safe at the back door so time of arrival is never an issue. I was brought up in the Forest of Dean until the age of 18 and we go back there regularly. We live near Heathrow so the quiet in the forest is very appealing!!! My manager lives in the village should any help be needed when I am not able to access wi-fi (which I have to say is very rare). I like to tie up all the booking formalities as soon as. I am happy to give advice about the cottage or its environs at any time. I know them both well! I am a people person and am known to be very friendly

Thank you James. What a lovely review! Yes the eateries finish serving food at 9pm. Maybe I should put that in with the arrival details. Four months ago you might have seen the wild boar chewing up the grass in front of the chapel. It's...More
