Relaxing weekend
We have just had a relaxing weekend, in the peaceful and comfortable Prawles Coach House Barn. Situated on a quite lane, with a good pub nearby that serves lovely food. Many nearby attractions, Bodiam castle being one of them where you are also able to do a boat trip.
The barn has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. The views from the barn are fantastic, sitting in the garden watching the wildlife while having breakfast is a great way to start the day.
I truly have no complaints about this property.

Quiet setting
Lovely quiet setting within reach of lots of gardens and historic places. Good walking all around. Well equipped and, as said before, amazingly large for 2 people . Large characterful lounge and big kitchen diner. Small outside space but lovely views.
Would certainly return.
Only wish one well behaved dog would be allowed!

A lovely and peaceful place to stay
The owners are very welcoming and left a cream tea for us on arrival, which was a pleasant surprise. The barn is well fitted out with everything you would need for your stay. This is certainly the place to come if you like peace and quiet and we are very fussy about noise. There were lots of bunnies to watch outside the barn to keep us amused and there is a very nice view of the sussex countryside at the back of the property. It is a good area for visiting National Trust properties such as Bodiam Castle and Bateman's together with nearby towns Rye, Battle and Hastings (we preferred the old part of Hastings). We hope to return to this lovely property in the future.

About the neighborhood
We're located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Ewhurst Green is an exceptionally pretty and quiet village with a great pub and 13th century church. It's about one-and-a-half kilometres away and is easily reachable on foot down a quiet country lane.
Walking in the gently undulating countryside is probably the most popular recreational activity.
13th century Bodiam Castle is less than a mile away and is easily reachable by either road or footpath. Other National Trust properties in the area include Bateman's (Rudyard Kipling's home), which is 20 mins away by car; Sissinghurst Castle (15mins) and Scotney Castle (20 mins).
There are a number of beautiful gardens locally including Great Dixter (10mins or three-and-a-half miles on foot), Pashley Manor (10 mins) and Merriments (7 mins).
The Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway runs (rather slowly!) from Bodiam (2 mins or 15-minute walk) to the lovely town of Tenterden.
The historic and very pretty town of Battle (site of the Battle of Hastings) is 10 minutes away by car. Hastings in 15 minutes away.
The River Rother is half-a-mile away and rowing boats and kayaks can be hired at the Bodiam Boating Station at Newenden (10 mins), which also runs a regular boat up and down the river to Bodiam Castle.
The lovely and historic town of Rye is 20 minutes away by car.
