Just 4 kms from the listed historic Roman village, Pont de Barret. Set on the river Roubion, with its many opportunities for swimming, the village has an impressive Roman church and bridge. There are many amenities, with 3 good restaurants, a friendly bar which is open from early until late, a Boulangerie, a Post Office and a Cave selling local wines.
An excellent base for walking, cycling and excellent roads for driving and motorcycling. Wonderful for nature lovers, birdwatchers, food and wine lovers, artists, those who are active or simply want to relax.
A hidden jewel, with sunflowers, lavender and good food and wine, without the crowds.
A weekly market at Pont de Barret where you can sample local produce and experience French life. Weekly markets take place at other nearby towns and villages.
Well situated in the South of La Drome Provencale, Haute Provence. Nearest towns are the historic Montelimar, Crest and Dieulefit, all about 25 minutes away. Very well placed for staying at home, being active, relaxing or for sight seeing trips.

A well behaved pet may be accepted with prior agreement, supplement applies of 5 euros per night per pet.

Stayed here on our route south from Lyon and into Provence. At the end of a long 80km day, leaving the busy streets of Valence and arriving here could not have been more perfect. The Gîtes was luxurious with lovely far reaching views from the terrace for our post Velo cup of Tea! The welcome from the hosts Tracey & Mark was so warm and helpful and made the whole experience complete. On these cycle tours we tend to stay in a range of accommodation from the finest hotels to B&Bs where we are looking for the right ‘experience’ rather than budget. This Gîte is right up there as one of our favourite stays and we are considering planning a future longer stay and day cycles from here. Thank you.

Veruit beste gite in 30 jaar!
Prachtige gites, rustige ligging, enorm attente uitbaters, altijd behulpzaam. Een echte aanrader voor mensen die rust op prijs kunnen stellen. Geweldig vriendelijke uitbaters. Proficiat Tracey en Mark met jullie gites.

Beautiful location and very friendly hosts.
An amazing place. Beautiful location, outstanding accommodation and a very friendly welcome. Loads to do in the area. We enjoyed kayaking on the Rhone, scaling Mont Ventoux (albeit in our camper) and, best of all, the fabulous weather. Already booked in for next year.

Nous etions tres contente d'accueillir cet super couple aux Beaux Chenes. Ils ont bien profite du gite et les environs. Nous sommes contente qu'ils partagent notre interresse au coin, les restos, les produits locaux, le paysage etc. Aussi, qu'ils etaient tellement confortable au gite qu'ils vont revenir!

what a beautiful place to holiday
Its not often we return to the same place but this time we couldn't resist. The hosts (Tracey & Mark) are perfect, always there to help but not in your face. The accommodation is also perfect, we we on the upper deck with a balcony. This location was perfect for viewing the sunsets as it faced west. Plenty of room for car parking, some of it under trees to keep some of the heat off the car. The owners seem to be keen on animals as they had a dog called Maurice, 2 cats, chickens and 4 donkeys (one of them a rare breed and she was pregnant) This location is perfect for those who just want to laze around the swimming pool or visit the area which contains gorges, mountains and rural countryside. This time of year the blue of lavender was spread over the countryside, next will be the sunflowers, but we were a little early for that.

It was such a pleasure spend some time with Bob and Pauline again! We are so pleased that they share our passion for this beautiful, undiscovered area. Also, delighted that they like the gite so much that they have come back and left, saying they hope to be back next year!
The intrepid pair drove all the way from their home in England and then went on to make the most of their stay, driving around to enjoy some fabulous sites nearby and further away!
Thank you so much for your second visit! Maurice-the-dog and Marcel-cat are both missing you! The donkeys are still frequently waiting in the forest, overlooking your terrace!
The sunsets really are magnificent at the moment, as is the lavender contrasting against the bright blue skies....As a Photographer, you would just love it (but it is now very hot indeed!)

Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire. C'etait un vrai plaisir de vous accueillir. Tout le monde dans votre equipe etait la pour bien profiter ce weekend-la mais au meme temps ils etaient super, tres correcte, polis et ils ont bien garde tous les 3 gites, laissant les pieces et aussi les exterieures tres propre. (Vous devez etre fier d'eux..) Ce n'est pas toujours forcement le cas avec 12 personnes! J'avais un petit souci que vous n'auriez pas tant de place pour manger tous les 12 ensemble dans Le Barronier mais en faite, c'etait bien passe et vous avez pris tres attention et range tous les trucs le lendemain. Aussi, vous avez bien pense a prendre tous les 3 gites.
On a bien rigole et partarge un coup!
