Creagan Cottage is situated in the village of Callanish on the west side of the Isle of Lewis. It is an ideal holiday base being centrally situated on the island . The area boosts spectacular sceneries, lochs, mountains and beaches, ideal for walking , bird watching, fishing and surfing. In the centre of Lewis are some prehistoric and iron age site, the most stunning of these being the Standing Stones at Callanish. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need and has magnificent views looking on to the village of Callanish and the Uig hills. To the left and to the right of the cottage are views of Loch Roag which is a sea loch coming in from the Atlantic Ocean. Absolutely beautiful cottage kids didn’t want to leave . It is very welcoming the owners really have thought of everything a family could possibly need on holiday . Ann and Angus are fantastic they went above and beyond for us and always on hand if we needed anything , The location is enchanting only a couple of minutes from the clannish stones ,and the sunsets are magnificent from the patio . We did some island hopping and this was the best by far . I really could go on all night about this cottage but I would highly recommend you go and experience it yourself . *****

The cottage was very clean and well equipped. There was even an electric blanket. Very cosy with a lovely sheltered decking area and private garden area. The host were very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent to visit the whole island. Walking distance to the Callanish stone circle, and a few miles from Gearrannan black houses village and the Hebrides soap company. We hope to go back.

Booked this wonderful cottage before the Covid 19 lockdown. Unfortunately our stay would have been during the Government restricted lockdown period. Anne the host was marvellous she replied immediately to my query and a full refund was given within the hour. Can't wait to re book and visit in 2021 (fingers crossed), more so now knowing with confidence that the host responds quickly to any problems that may arise. Accomodation is reasonably priced and looks wonderful.

From the beginning, Anne the owner was very helpful and answered all our questions really quickly. The cottage was lovely and clean and well equipped. It was exactly what we needed for our stay on Lewis!

I loved the house! Had everything you needed and the location is great when you want to explore both isle of Lewis and isle of Harris. Enjoyed the porch and the view over the standing stones. Its very nice and cosy in the house and I will really recommend this place.

Warm welcome from Angus, who showed us around and explained about the facilities, heating etc. Very cosy and comfortable cottage well placed for us to explore the Lewis/Harris region. Unfortunately the weather prevented us from enjoying the outside patio area from which there were lovely views over the village and the Callanish Stones, and the local harbour. Recommended!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Creagan Cottage. Everything we needed was there and easy to get to the sights. Nice cottage and the owners are so friendly and kind. Loved meeting Hamish. Thank you for all the help.

Right next to the Callanish stones and a central base from which to explore. Very clean and comfortable and a cottage which I will certainly book again. Highly recommended.

We came up to Lewis for a week in August. Creagan cottage is a great place to stay, with lovely views and right next to the standing stones ( the cafe at the visitors centre there is also recommended). The cottage is small but had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay- the electric blankets on the beds were a great touch!

About the neighborhood
Creagan Cottage is in the village of Callanish home to the famous Standing Stones which you can see from the lounge window. The cottage is on the main road and looks on to the village of Callanish which is mainly a crofting township. The Callanish visitor centre and the Standing Stones are a leisurely walk away. The cottage has spectacular views of Loch Roag and the Uig hills.
Getting around
A car is recommended but not essential. There is good public service transport. The buses pass the cottage approximately every couple of hours back and fore from Stornoway. If you wish to see more of the island you can do a circular tour round the island on the bus.

How to get there
Coming from Stornoway you follow the A859 to the Leurbost junction around 8 miles from Stornoway. turn right on to the A858 and follow the road to Callanish. Do not turn of the road until you reach Callanish. The cottage is located 1st right past the Cattle Grid as you come into Callanish. Alternatively if you are coming from Tarbert, Harris follow the A859 to the Leurbost Junction and turn left on to the A858 as above.
