Splendid view, great house
The house is very confortable. It's a really quiet place. The old fireplace is just great. We hiked on the marked paths around Lamonzie (maps were at our disposal). The Dordogne valley is magical during autumn. There's is a lot to do around, so we will come back next year.

Maison parfaite - excellent rapport qualité-prix
Quel lieu enchanteur!

Sophisticated and spacious.
This is a very pleasant, restful property. The thick stone walls keep it cool, making for a welcome retreat after a long day touring in the hot summer sun. The rooms are spacious, the décor is sophisticated, and the fittings of superior quality. Comfortable beds, big showers, some lovely period features like the pebble mosaic floor and exposed beams, and a harmonious colour scheme, help to make this the ideal holiday spot. The fact that there is the Valley of the Vézère with all its attractions virtually on your doorstep, is just the icing on the cake. Blissfully quiet at night too. There is plenty of everything (except a milk jug!?) for a large group to enjoy a family holiday by the pool and the house is spotlessly clean.

Holiday for 4 adults and 2 grandsons one disabled
Lovely property just the right size for our family of 6 which included my autistic grandson . The pictures do not do the property justice although the other buildings away from the main house are being renovated which means the capacity of visitors will increase making a pool that is great for 6 persons a little small and no longer private. The property was very clean except for the BBQ and oven. Although you pay an end of stay cleaning fee be aware the owner expects the property to be fully cleaned before you leave. When we were there we had to share with some unwelcome guests called house millipedes they appeared in all the rooms when we checked them out on Google( good old google) they are not dangerous but can give a nasty sting alarming as one was on my grandsons bed. There is a lovely lake about 10 minutes drive away and shops and Sarlet at least 20 minutes the french country roads can be challenging. Would we stay again sadly not due to the ongoing renovations which will add 3 more gites the beautiful private house and the attraction of a private Villa will be lost

About the neighborhood
Sarlat is one of the jewels of the Black Perigord. The city is renowned for its rich architectural heritage and especially its great renovation started with the Malraux law on conservation areas ... Today it is part of many cultural events.
Sarlat, a town of art and history, born in the ninth century and was built around a Benedictine abbey. Soon the city is enriched under the direct authority of the Holy See of Rome. The Hundred Years War (1337 - 1453) and plague had serious economic and demographic consequences. In 1962 the "André Malraux Act" creates the protected sectors and Sarlat is the "City Lab". For 25 years, successive restorations have renewed the medieval city.
Sarlat is the first city in Europe by number of listed buildings.
