St Abbs, Scottish Borders, Scotland
The Beacon is a stone built detached house which stands in it's own grounds. Surrounded by a walled garden on three sides with a hedge to the front giving privacy to the occupants. At the front of the house there is a garden offering unlimited views over Coldingham Bay and you can see the fishing village of Eyemouth in the distance At the rear of the house there is enough parking for four cars. The village of St Abbs is popular with scuba divers, walkers and cyclists. It has an interesting harbour with cafes where you can enjoy a drink and a crab sandwich and watch the world go by. If you are feeling energetic you can walk up to St. Abbs Head which is part of the National Trust and admire the lighthouse and large groups of gannets and puffins. Looking north on a clear day you can see up the Firth of Forth towards the Bass Rock at... Read more

About the neighborhood
How to pass away the day.

Situated in the village hall which sits precariously on the cliff top in the new Visitors centre, crammed with information and history of St.Abbs Friday there is a market held in the old primary school where you can buy all the local produce.

Scuba Diving is very popular at St.Abbs, the water is very clear around this part of the coast and divers can enjoy the spectacular underwater scenery. There are a number of Boat trips you can do, with Diving , Fishing and Passenger catered for. If you are feeling energetic walk up to St.Abbs Head or just relax with a game of putting at the green in the village. You will find the village post office/ shop just along the road. The Shop comes in very handy for the morning papers and a pint of milk and other essentials.
