One of six charming self-catering converted houses in the grounds of Pekes Manor, The Wing was originally built as a cow-shed but was converted in 1911 to make a drawing room and library for the main house. It has its own entrance and a very nice private column garden.

Pekes Houses in East Sussex, situated 10 miles inland from the sea, is within easy driving distance of Brighton, Eastbourne and Lewes. A private estate up a drive of 350 yards with unspoilt views of the countryside, Pekes offers unique self-catering holidays in a very tranquil rural setting. The facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, lawn badminton, hard Macadam style tennis court and extensive gardens & park.
Included are central heating and hot water, a fully equipped kitchen, and all linen, towels and cleaning.

Guests should read the simple instructions in the Welcome pack, specially the Fire instructions.
This was not only sleeping accommodation, but our dance floor when we hired the Manor (see separate review).
The whole estate including the Wings is simply the most magical getaway.
The shared facilities are fantastic with a very special indoor heated swimming pool.
Kildare and Jilly were quite the most incredibly helpful hosts you could wish to find. They made so much effort to enable the smooth running of our party. Nothing was too much for them.

family wedding at Pekes
Excellent information prior to booking, very clean and equiped with everything you could posibly need e.g. teatowels, washing up liquid, bottle of milk in fridge on arrival, games, kitchen cupboards bursting with equipment etc. The site is wonderful and well kept with excellent faclities. Access to the bathroom is through the kitchen and then up a step to the toilet. Pekes arranged a ramp for walker access. Beautiful place, very relaxing, 10 miles from Eastbourne.
Down side is there is only one bedroom and the other 4 beds are all in the living area. You have to walk through this room to get from the bedroom to the kitchen and bathroom. The beds desperately need new matresses. The sofas and arm chairs are threadbare and desperately need replacing. Do not hire this accomodation if you have a bad back.
We enjoyed a fabulous weekend with the family, wedding in a marque followed by family BBQ the following night etc.perfect for this. Staff are doing a great job it just needs some new furniture.

We are so pleased that the Gaskell family enjoyed their wedding weekend, and appreciated Pekes, and have said so in numerous locations.
We have already ordered a suite of new beds for the Wing, are disposing of some of the older furniture and replacing with back-friendly new ones, although this is the first time that anyone has complained.

Charming.
The Wing / Pekes Manor was just lovely. We were a small group of women, looking to escape London for the weekend, and Pekes provided the perfect getaway.
Our weekend started with a lovely pub lunch nearby, at the Gun, and then continued to delight once we arrived at Pekes.
We went for walks around the estate and made a cosy fire for the evening. Dinner was easy to whip up with the kitchenware provided and wine was easily consumed with the homely atmosphere we were surrounded by!
All in all, it was exactly what we needed and would highly recommend a visit.

The Wing was a perfect base for our holiday
Our family really enjoyed the week we spent in the Wing at Pekes. It was very spacious for the five of us, and my sisters and their families booked one of the other houses available at Pekes. Perfect! The kids loved the heated pool. The owner provided loads of information about things to do nearby. Short drive to the seaside/cliffs. We went for walks in the local area and had a great Sunday lunch in the local pub, The Gun. We had a great winter holiday and would not hesitate to recommend the Wing (and the other parts of Pekes).
