This coastal holiday home belonging to an artist and family is a delightfully decorated, light space situated up in private gardens with views over Porthtowan valley. Just a four minute walk to the beautiful blue blue flag Porthtowan surf beach, local amenities, and stunning coastal walks. The property is set in a valley within a cluster of quirky beach houses. Leading from the dining area is a wonderful sunken chill out lounge with woodburner and skylights for star gazing and french doors leading onto the front garden and patio, ideal for sitting by the chiminea/ BBQ. There is a huge flatscreen TV , Wii games and Netflix. Upstairs is the master bedroom with antique french rosewood double bed, wardrobe and drawers. The second bedroom is downstairs and has two single beds and a view of the tropical garden. The family bathroom, is bright beach colours and has a bath and shower, sink and toilet. Further steps to the back of the property lead up to a private sun deck and tropical garden, with views over the farm and valley. There is a table and chairs for four to dine al fresco. There is a designated parking spot, so no worrying about where to put the car. Porthtowan village has two surf shcools with surf hire, a general store with post office and cash point, hair and beauty salon, beach cafe, gift shop, bamboo market, beach shop, pub and a beach bar. It also offers a wonderful sandy play park with zip wire, swings and pirate ship as well as the famous Blue Bar situated right next to the beach, ideal for coffees, lunch, dinner and sunsets. New this year, a fabulous Vegan cafe and takeaway, called Little Lotus offering vegan, non gluten lunches and dinners, cakes, coffees and chai lattes. Porthtowan is a sandy blue flag beach flanked by steep cliffs on West Cornwall's north coast within an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a popular beach for surfers and families alike offering surfing/ bodyboarding, rock pools and the famous mermaid tidal pool, set into the cliff to the right of the beach. Great for walkers, nature lovers and bird watching as the coastal path is 3 minutes walk away from the property and offers amazing ocean views and often doplphins as well as historic Poldark esk mines. Porthtowan is mid Cornwall and located three miles away from St. Agnes, six miles from Redruth, 10 miles from Truro, with easy access to the Eden Project, St. Ives, The Minnack Theatre, Newquay, Falmouth and much more. Porthtowan is mid Cornwall and located three miles away from St. Agnes, six miles from Redruth, 10 miles from Truro, with easy access to the Eden Project, St. Ives, The Minnack Theatre, Newquay, Falmouth and much more. The south west coastal path leads from the village to the south and north of Cornwall with stunning mining heritage and breath taking views.
Getting around
Porthtowan is well situated for easy access to many other fabulous beaches such as Perranporth or Gwithian towans 20 minutes drive along the stunning coastal road . There are busy services to St Ives Truro or Redruth where there are trains ton all major stations. By car is the best wayou to explore Cornwall I believe or by foot. There are buses trains and taxi services available .
