Willowbank Lodges/Herons Nest

Heron's Nest
1 of 19Heron's Nest
Overview
Cabin -
1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 2
Pewsey, Wiltshire, England
Heron's Nest log cabin, part of Willowbank Lodges, nestles in a small hamlet in the heart of the Pewsey Vale bordering the Kennet and Avon canal. The five luxury log cabins have been solidly built from Russian redwood and are situated in three and a half acres including a private lake and are surrounded by beautiful countryside and a wide variety of wildlife. Heron's Nest cabin directly overlooks the stream and facing due west, is the sunniest cabin on site so gets the sun in the early evening after everyone else has been cast into shade.

Bird lovers will enjoy watching the various families of waterfowl on the lake, including our indigenous pair of swans, herons and our kingfisher who flies up and down both the lake and the stream and can be seen sitting on the railings near the end cabin, Kingfisher, so named.

We are originally from the area, and came back for the weekend for a family occasion. We had a wonderful weekend reminiscing about our childhoods in Mildenhall and Burbage. The cabin was perfectly located for us to visit the local villages and towns. We had...More

Additional Rate and Availability Information
The calendars show Friday to Friday prices though in the off peak seasons I can often accommodate other start dates so please do enquire. In the peak summer months I will occasionally take a Friday to Monday and Monday to Friday booking but am mostly looking for a minimum of a one week booking.
If you choose 4, 5 or 6 nights then the daily rate becomes cheaper so please ask for a quote and I will also accept some two night bookings depending on the time of year. Dogs are an additional £3 per dog per night. Longer term lets considered so please enquire for a quote.

About the neighborhood
Pewsey is a charming little village which is less than two miles from Willowbank Lodges and, although small, boasts a surprising number of ameneties. We have an excellent supermarket open seven days a week, a butcher, baker (delicious old fashioned donuts and lardy bread!) petrol station, post office, bank, gift shops, florists, art gallery and visitor centre, internet cafe and various coffee shops and pubs.

In addition, we have an excellent award winning tennis club where Willowbank Lodges has membership for its guests and a leisure centre with a swimming pool, squash courts, etc.

Slightly further afield, Marlborough boasts a large variety of restaurants and pubs, boutiques, antique shops, two fine churches and has the widest high street in the country. Now it is probably more famou...
