I booked a room at the Christie Lodge through a 3rd party website which was nonrefundable for this past weekend. It was so bad that we ended up staying at another hotel in the area and that was the best decision that we made all day! We were there right around check-in time to try and get a room on an upper floor with a view of the mountains, away from all the noise, and a non-highway view from the balcony. The person who helped us check in could use a little help in the customer service department. He was very rude and didn't seem to care about much besides flirting with the girl working next to him. The room we were given for the night was on the 2nd floor, nothing of what we asked for when we checked in. The trash and the used towels from the guests from the night before was still sitting in front of our room as we entered. The bed was old and uncomfortable with an outdated comforter that probably has been washed in awhile. The air conditioning unit was a portable one, but you couldn't move it because its vent was set up in the fireplace. The room was stuffy. The view from the balcony was of the parking lot and the highway. The hotel is dated; it looks like an old Holiday Inn from the 1070's! It has atriums throughout which makes everything echo really badly and makes you feel like you are stuck in a bad nighmare. Lots of screaming kids and families coming and going. If you have an option of staying at a different hotel in the area, please take into consideration the reviews on this place. Unless you are just passing by and need a cheaper place to stay for the night, I would highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Great location for catching the bus to Beaver Creek! The shuttle stop is just a few steps out the door. Lots of stairs everywhere so if not able to use stairs be sure to call ahead and plan a 1st floor room or one close to the elevator. It would have been nice to have a stove in the unit but the electric frying pan provided worked out better than I expected. Although there was a ceiling fan in the 1 bedroom the air always seemed like it was stale. We opened the sliding glass door often to freshen up the air but it never seemed to reach the bedroom even with additional fans running. Over all good place but in need of a better heating, cooling ventilation system. Since the fireplace had not been converted over to accommodate the air conditioner for the season we were hot most days.
