This house is walking distance to everything, including lively parades, unique cuisines, galleries, churches, the Guelaguetza amphitheater and the historical center of Oaxaca.

Decor over Function

The location is good, it looks colorful and cute and the local contact was responsive. It’s just unfortunate that there was so much in need of response. We had several issues with the plumbing including the shower head and pipe coming out of the wall, the refrigerator and freezer didn’t work and we lost food first to it being too warm and then after it was “fixed” everything in the refrigerator froze. The kitchen and downstairs bathroom are tiny, the lighting is poor and there was not a good comfortable space to relax and socialize.

This house is a stroll from Santo Domingo on the main street of Alcala, a meeting place for all kinds of street performances, and artesans to display their art and crafts. From this house you can walk to the main attractions and great restaurants and even el zocalo (City center) where you will find all kinds of restaurants, bars and entertainment.

Getting around

Walking distance to everything including the origin of lively parades , unique cuisine experiences and historic Oaxaca center. Taxis and parking are also close by. In the Zocalo there are many tour businesses that can take you to Hierve el Agua or Monte Albán, to the Tule tree or to a mezcal distilleries. Just pass the Zocalo is the packed market 20 de Noviembre where you can enjoy an array of traditional dishes and vividly colored hand-crafts.
