Imagine a luxury camping trip with your closest family and friends except this time you're on a boat - diving, snorkelling, kayaking, island exploration. The choice is yours. El Duque is a 53 ft converted trawler, she has 2 air conditioned cabins with 6 bunks and a bathroom in each. She is full of character, the original boat builder knew John 'The Duke' Wayne hence the name of the boat and some of her history. The bunk style accommodation will build camaraderie and lead to adventures on the high seas. There is a fully stocked galley and living area where you will enjoy a variety of home cooked meals and snacks throughout the day. The living area also provides space to relax out of the sun and play a game of cards or perhaps watch a movie on the boat TV. She also comes equipped with f...

The boat is suitable for children but I would not recommend it for infants due to the safety of being out at sea. Smoking is allowed on the boat but not inside - there are designated areas of the boat outside for smoking.

It's another world!
After landing at La Paz which must be the friendliest airport ever and a 5 minute transfer to the marina it was like being in another world. Staying on a boat and travelling around the coast must be the most relaxing way of seeing the scenery and wildlife ever. Helping yourself to soft drinks and snacks with meals provided takes away any worries about feeding yourself while on holiday. Total chill out!

About the neighborhood
La Paz is the capital of Baja California Sur and has lots to see and do; whether it is strolling the Malecon with an icecream or a coffee or investigating the catherdral and cultural centre you will want to allow a little time either side of your trip to have a wander.
Isla Espiritu Santo (the island that we will mainly be adventuring on) has been described as the jewel of the Sea of Cortez due to its rich life above and below the water. Beautiful sandy beaches, healthy mangroves, and desert hiles define the landscape above the water. Below the surface it teems with life - from playful sealions, to flying mobula rays and the smallest nudibranchs there is always something to explore.
Getting around
For getting around Baja we recommend a car although this is not necessary, especially during a charter.
How to get there
The Marina where the boat is located is close to the airport in La Paz and only a short drive from downtown. There is secure parking at the marina with 24 hour security. When everyone is on board the boat and ready we depart on your adventure into the Sea of Cortez.
