The property is located at the heart of Dordogne-Perigord, a perfect base to explore the historical jewels and the beautiful countryside along the Dordogne valley. The wine capitals of Saint-Emilion and Bordeaux are only one hour drive to the West. To the east, Sarlat, Limeuil and many other enchanting medieval towns are also an hour or less drive away.
Off the beaten track, Bergerac, the lively town on the bank of river Dordogne - and a hidden gem in our view - is 20 min drive away whilst Perigueux, a medieval town 30 mins drive to the north, is a must visit for its Saturday market.
A car is a 'must have' for the property. Both international airports in Bergerac (20 minutes) and Bordeaux (just over an hour) offer car-rental facilities for those guests arriving by air. For daily necessities, Pont Saint Mamet is the nearest village about 1km away where you can find a well stocked grocery Proxy with its friendly proprietor Isabel.
The property is made available to guests for their exclusive use, with mid week and end-of-stay cleaning provided free of charge. More frequent cleaning is available on request and subject to additional charges. If you would like to arrive with the fridge filled, please give us your shopping list one week in advance.
Please note that we have frequently spotted wild animals on the ground of the property, from deer, rabbits, barn owls to wild boars. They generally stay far away from the houses so unlikely to interfere with your holiday!
