Let the water views from every corner of the cottage work their magic on you. One of All Dream Cottages on Orcas Island, the surrounding land is part of the cottage experience. The cottage is grandfathered in, built closer to the water than county laws now permit. So there is nothing but water in front of you and the resident seal that comes to entertain. (also bunnies, deer -- on the waterfront!)

1. We welcome children at Mariner's Dream. However, we ask that you understand that all of our cottages have been furnished and decorated to be 'dream' homes away from home. Complete 'child proofing' is not compatible with this decorating philosophy.
This property is 'absolute' waterfront and while the deck is gated, it will require parents to exercise extra care.
2. Please do not feed the animals— mink, chipmunk, otter, raccoon, deer—no matter how “cute.” They like people.
This was our first big vacation since 2019 and our stay at Mariner’s Dream did not disappoint. We loved the location near the ferry and grocery store but the most important thing was the stunning view from the cottage deck. The cottage was so comfortable. We could see the water from every room. We wanted for nothing. Delicious coffee beans provided and a bottle of champagne to get our vacation started. We hope to return and do some more hiking on Or as Island.

Wonderful waterfront cottage on Orcas Island
Excellent location right next to the ferry. About a 15 minute drive to Eastsound, the main village on Orcas Island. Very convenient for an early morning ferry departure as you can get your vehicle in line, then go back to the cottage for breakfast.

Yes, the location is great for an early morning ferry. . . and, very true, the cottage is much better than sitting in the car waiting for the ferry (especially when it is later than scheduled!)

Relaxing and beautiful
Sitting on the deck and watching the ocean never gets old! We spent five nights at this quiet, peaceful location. As others have written, the ferries are so quiet, we often didn’t know they had arrived! We took quick walks to the grocery and to walk on (for free) the ferry to visit Friday Harbor. Enjoyed our dinner at the Orcas Hotel one evening (which we also walked to), but the best place to eat is right there at the cottage. It is 50 steps down from the road and behind a fence so you never hear any road traffic. We also loved sitting in the two Adirondack chairs on the property and getting a slightly different view. A wonderful home for visiting Orcas.

Unmatched views of water and the ever changing light. Peaceful and cozy.
We were lucky to have four nights at Mariner's Dream in mid October. The cottage is optimizes the stunning view from its deck and through its many windows and french doors. Perched over the water's edge, the property is well thought out and well managed. Being near the ferry terminal was a definite "plus." It was a treat to watch the ferries quietly glide in and out, especially at night, when their lights reflected like diamonds on the water. We had some rain, but it made this cottage all the better. We appreciated the good WiFi in lieu of TV, enjoyed the DVD movie collection and appreciated the bubbly and local coffee. Mariner's Dream is accessed below a set of stairs; not a problem for most guests. All in all, a real treat. Hope to return.

Agreed. The ferry lights on the water is remarkable. We (owners) sometimes take a few days away from our side of the island and are even now mesmerized by lights reflected on the water.

The best ever spot on Orcas Island - so convenient and a perfect cottage!
We could not have asked for a more relaxing spring break! The view from the house and lovely deck is amazing...watching the ferry come and go was fun and peaceful--so surprisingly quiet. The evening ferry arrival seemed esp. magical, with the ferry all lit up as it cruised in to dock. The hammock was a big hit for our girls, and we even brought our new electric blankets to cozy up outside and enjoy the deck when it was a little chilly at night! The house is an easy walk to yummy breakfast treats and groceries, and an easy hop on the ferry to head to other islands too. The Orcas hotel had great food too! The house was perfect for our family, we would visit again and again! Our hosts were very helpful and welcoming, providing all the amenities, plus treats on arrival too. The house was clean, cute and cozy---the perfect island getaway spot, we would highly recommend!

Perfection! Everything you could want and more.
This charming cottage was absolute perfection! It is roomy and cozy. We spent countless hours on the deck watching the water, ferries and the gorgeous sky. The living area is comfy and a great place to cuddle up and watch movies with the warmth of the gas heat stove which was set by remote! The kitchen had everything we needed and the whole place was super clean and spotless. Best of all, the king size bed was UBER COMFORTABLE and just laying there looking out the huge windows was delightful. We had such a wonderful time and in large part it was because of this precious cottage. The location was ideal. The little grocery store just down the hill was amazing... best pizzas ever! And watching the ferries silently come and go was utterly enchanting. I will cherish the week we spent in Mariner's Dream forever.

One of our favorite places for repeat visits!
It's hard to think of any way to make this stay better. Walkable from the ferry and to the local market. Stunning view, clean and comfortable, well appointed and well managed. We enjoyed this property so much that we've stayed here several times!

Wonderful Cottage, close to ferry
Mariner's Dream is the cottage we chose for the 2nd half of our trip. We stayed the 1st half at Sea Dream. This one is in a much different location but just as special. We've enjoyed watching the ferry come and go and took the inter island ferry over to Friday Harbor one day for lunch. The cottage itself has everything you'll need. My husband especially enjoyed the special little hot water tap to make his tea, no heating the water first on the stove. The views are amazing, the bed is comfy and everything is clean and well supplied. We explored and hiked the island but spent just as much time just enjoying the view. The steps down to the cottage are steep but were well described so it was no surprise. We've had a great vacation.

Absolutely an amazing cottage
Located on Orcas Island the cottage is a charmer. Beautifully maintained and decorated. Comfortable and cozy with a gorgeous view and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The island has a lot to offer and there is easy access to the other San Juan Islands by the ferry service. Absolutely loved our time there and will absolutely return someday .

A peaceful slice of quiet
Loved loved loved our stay at this cottage. You can't get any closer to the waters edge. There are windows everywhere and all of them have beautiful views of the water. The cottage is the perfect size for 2 (1 bedroom), small but very adequate kitchen with a very nice living room and dining room and a large deck. I enjoyed my morning coffee watching the sun rise from the living room and sipping wine on the deck while watching the sunset. Be prepared to relax, enjoy the company you came with and settle in to play cards or a board game (the cottage supplies them). I can't wait to come back!
