Amazing Family Vacation
Our stay at Dillycrab was amazing. It’s hard to know what to cover- there was so much that made it that way. First, the natural setting was stunning - a soft white sand beach and clear blue waters practically all to yourself. About a 20 minute paddle directly out in the ocean is a little uninhabited island to go explore. Great Exuma itself is an extremely friendly and safe island with just enough going on to be fun and interesting and have sufficient services, but nothing that would keep it from being anything other than peaceful and relaxing. The house is centrally located on the island, with nothing too terribly far away.
The entire front of the second floor of the house is a covered porch which makes a perfect spot for hanging out, eating, napping, etc, while overlooking the pool and providing an idyllic view of the ocean. The house is set back just perfectly from the beach such that still there's some protection from the salt air and ocean winds.
Similarly, the pool area itself, with its beautiful pool and bar / grill area, surrounded by tropical plants, flowering vines, palm trees, and a colorful aquatic mural, is a cozy oasis, perfect for fun, family and friend meals and hanging out. A few steps outside this sanctuary and you are right on the beach. Also just beside the steps down to the beach is an open oceanside deck with lounge chairs for enjoying the breeze and the view without having to lug a bunch of gear actually out onto the sand (although they have plenty of beach gear and pool toys available at the house if you need it!).
One of the best things about the rental was just how well thought out everything was. The primary bedrooms and kitchen had everything you might need and were nicely separated from the kids' bunk room and playroom downstairs. The playroom provided a lot of family fun and otherwise kept our three teenagers completely entertained when they needed some inside time. For our family of five, it felt spacious with plenty to do. Also, the house has battery backup for when the island power goes out, which happens somewhat regularly on the island.
We didn't know beforehand that the owners were staying in the cottage next door while we there and their presence made the trip even more enjoyable. After just a few interactions, it quickly made sense why everything was so appealing and well thought out. They’re both very friendly and engaging people and Michele, who is the primary contact, is gently attentive and she makes it clear that she wants you to love the place as much as she does. We feel lucky we got to take part in this island experience! We hope to come back soon!!

Excellence in Exuma!
This is sooooo simple! Dilly Crab Ranch is one of the best properties in the Caribbean & the host are exceptional! Fantastic property, outstanding beach, ample amenities & privacy. Truly a home away from home! It is a bucket list location!

BEAUTY AT ITS BEST
Great Exuma, Bahamas,
One could not ask for anything more.
Everything just perfect.
Best beaches I have ever been to.
The most friendly islanders I have met.
When you arrive you feel like you know everyone and are not treated like tourists.
If you want to relax,swim,walk and just chill, then this is the place to go.
I would relocate to Great Exuma tomorrow if I could.
Go there see for yourself.
House great,home from home.
Owners could not be more friendly.
My family and I will return.

Paradise Found
Eight of us found beach bliss on our yearly family reunion. The days were filled with family meals, happily prepared in a wonderfully equipped kitchen, views of the sea, a comfortable and open eating area to share. Coffee on the deck and a lounge in the hammock. We swam in the ocean, played in the waves, built sand castles, and worked on our tans. Later in the day the kids continued to splash in the pool while we enjoyed the tropical breezes with a cocktail by the pool. In the evenings we would take our tea (and beer) to the couch and put in a movie, with the screen door open, reminding us of where we were. Our cozy sleeping quarters left us well rested for another day of fun. The draw of the magnificent turquoise sea is absolute, being able to complement that with this perfectly appointed vacation rental made for the best possible family vacation, one we will never forget. Thank-you Dilly Crab!

It is true there are so many lovely outdoor living areas around DillyCrab to enjoy, it is hard to know where to choose first and next..Ha Ha!

Slice of Heaven
My boyfriend booked this place for us mostly because It was right after hurricane season destroyed St. John. We switched gears, and he had always heard of The Exumas! So we did our research and he stumbled across Dilly Crab. The pictures were breathtaking, so of course, he booked it! As soon as we got to Exuma, and drove over the hill to see that blue water, we knew we made the best decision! Then, we got to Dilly Crab, and we were convinced!
Dilly Crab is equipped with everything you could possibly think of for an island vacation! Our favorite spot is out on the porch at night under the strings of lights. But what we were thrilled about is that there was NOONE around! We walk (we counted) 80 steps to the beach, look to our left, and then right, and there is no one. during our 7 day stay, we maybe saw a couple souls on the beach! it was perfectly relaxing.
It is also family friendly as well! We have every intention of bringing our 4 year old along next time! There is so much to do for kids of all ages.
Another great thing is...... DILLY CRAB IS 5 MINUTES FROM THE AIRPORT!!
Lastly, Michelle, is extremely accommodating. She kept in touch with us the month prior to our vacation letting us know what great things there are to do/visit. She let us know what to expect, what to prepare for. And she even had us compile a grocery list so her housekeeper could have the things we would need initially there for us upon arrival! Talk about great people to rent from!
One thing I would say to prepare for and buy BEFORE you get to Exuma is "no see-um" spray. 2 nights, ONLY at night because that's when it flairs up, I had the worst itching because on no see-um bugs that get you without you knowing! It didn't damper my vacation, what-so-ever! But I will be prepared for them next time!
We were so happy with Dilly Crab that we will return every year! We couldn't sing Dilly Crab's praises enough! If you are thinking Exuma, GO TO DILLY CRAB!

Dillycrab is close to the airport but out of the flight path so you would never know...
Turquoise paradise!
Real vanilla in your body cream helps keep the no-see-um’s away..as well as eating raw garlic..a sarong helps. They can not bite through clothing...and they only fly when there is no wind. Most of the time at Dilly the breeze is strong enough to keep them from flying..our little island fairies. The more you go to Exuma the less reaction you will have. You build up an immunity. We have a joke that says they only like the tourists..
Love to have you guys back again ..we do book up quite fast with lots of repeat guests...

Perfect Vacation Spot!
My family and I (including 4 kids 11-14) had a perfect week at this great house. The location is ideal - central on the island with easy access to Georgetown and all the beaches. The pool and beach at the house are perfect! We spent days at the beaches and late afternoons and evenings in the pool or on the second-story deck. The hammock was a huge hit! The bedrooms are comfortable, and the pool table/ping pong table made for lots of high-stakes family fun and drama.
We will be back! The owners are great to work with and have everything you will need for a perfect week in paradise.

A perfect slice of heaven!
This home, and it will be your home away from home, is absolutely perfect for any family! Wake up and have coffee on the veranda overlooking your own private inground pool with a beautiful landscape while you listen to the waves hitting the beach that is just 40-50 feet from your driveway! During the day, just relax...pool or beach... this beach is gorgeous--white powdery sand with perfectly turquoise water that goes for 3 km and is used by virtually nobody (we saw 5 other people the entire week!) or you can venture out to various spots nearby. So many activities/sites are included in a fabulously thorough binder made by the owners: Chat n' Chill, Sugar Adventure Tours, boat rentals, etc. Come home and make a tremendous dinner at home (high end grill with an extremely well-equipped kitchen) or venture out to various spots on the island. Afterward, have a glass of wine by the pool or hang out in what was my family's favorite night spot: a fully equipped bonus room right off the pool (ping pong, pool, darts, games, 50" TV, exercise equipment). What more can I say??? This was perfect and the owner was a joy to communicate with; she was a total wealth of information and helpful every step of the way.

Wonderful
Beautiful, comfortable, private, and just amazing. I got to spend a week and every day was better than the next. You’re in the middle of the island so you have relatively quick access to everything. The owner is so nice and knowledgeable, she ended up being our own personal trip advisor. The locals are all so nice and caring. If you’re coming to Exuma and like beauty with privacy, I can’t recommend highly enough.

Better than Advertised
One of those rare cases where reality exceeds the photos. The beach is much longer, deeper and softer. And while legally public, as practical matter it is private. It is also a 30 second walk away from the pool, which is not a superfluous add-on to a beachfront house. Mornings at the beach, afternoons at the pool. The house is tres comfortable, and it is set quite apart from the rest of the world, though really quite central to all of Great Exuma's recreational goodies. Michele's on-island support staff is at beck-and-call. There are the occasional (and passing) nits that come with a wonderfully underdeveloped island like Great Exuma (internet interruptions and such), but what a piddling price to pay for a perfect family vacation.

So glad your family had such a great time. Dillycrab really makes you feel like you have had a "cottage" vacation. There is something very special about Exuma that is hard to forget...and you are right I think our beach is spectacular! Hope you are still dreaming of Turquoise waters!

Awesome! Relaxing, beautiful beach and lovely home.
The house is perfect! Great amenities - grill, hammock, great outdoor seating areas, kayaks, paddle boards, ping pong table, billiards - and your very own private pool! The best is the beach, which is very quiet and the prettiest color I've ever seen. (The pictures are real.) Michele was very helpful in suggesting things to do in Great Exuma and there is a great resource/binder in the house with tons of recommendations on restaurants, things to do, see, etc.
Don't miss a day trip with Sugar Adventures where you get to meet the swimming piggies, iguanas, swim with nurse sharks, turtles and rays. We also made a trip at low tide to Coco Plum Beach to find sand dollars and enjoy the shallow gorgeous water. We enjoyed visiting the straw market in Georgetown to pick up some locally made treasures. Sandpiper nearby is a great gift shop too. And don't miss Wenshua if you get the chance. It's a nice art gallery with a lot of pieces from local artists.
This was a great, relaxing, vacation for us in a beautiful location. We would definitely go again!

About the neighborhood
Great Exuma. Paradise found! Silky-soft white sand beaches, stunning turquoise water, welcoming friendly people...island life, do I need to say more. We have a great coffee table book that will guide you to restaurants, adventures and all the wonderful places and things to do. Our beach is over 3km long and you will be lucky if you are sharing it with anyone.The house is only a few minutes car ride away from the airport but we are out of the Tar Bay flight path and down a very long driveway to the Ocean. If quiet is what you seek, you will find it at Dillycrab Beach House. Golf course is 15 minutes away, tennis courts 20 min away, your beach a hop, skip, and a jump!
