This fully furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bath, small villa is your home away from home. It recently has been fully updated from top to bottom and features beautiful woodwork and artwork from the owners/artists and some of the island's finest craftspeople. It also features a newly expanded pool deck and refreshing, natural salt pool, for your chemical free enjoyment. Our villa provides the perfect adventure-packed location for enjoying one of the most popular areas in St. Lucia--the Soufriere region and the nearby Choiseul quarter. The unique and open architecture of the treehouse allows you to live in the tree line and enjoy nature to its fullest. Spend hours on the open covered deck, enjoying the sweeping views, watching or feeding the birds, and dining on the freshest local food, some right from the garden or direct from the neighborhood. The entire villa has been renovated and now features a wonderful chef's kitchen with views of the pitons (the only one we know of in the area), a river-themed tiki bar for hanging out and enjoying the views and great vibes, beautiful hand crafted wood lighting throughout, new bedroom with handmade arts and crafts king bed, a new bathroom complete with vessel sink and rain shower, and a salt plunge pool with ample room and lots of privacy for enjoying the Caribbean sun. The villa has been rebuilt in a timeless 'treehouse arts and crafts' style with plenty of art for our guests to enjoy. The romantic bedroom features a beautiful mahogany king size bed, new high efficiency air conditioner (if you need it), and lots of closet space to store your clothes, suitcases, and belongings. You can also watch your favorite movies and shows in bed using the smart tv--if you want a break from nature and just chill! In the living area you'll find a queen-size futon couch (that can also be used by an extra guest for sleeping) and a music system, full wifi that works nicely throughout the property, and a safe where you can easily store your valuables. The new kitchen now features a high ceiling, lots of ventilation for working, a nice bar, and much more counter space for cooking up local, tasty treats. It is all set up with the tools, utensils, and appliances that you'll need including a fridge, full gas stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, and more. The new bathroom features a unique design with cast-glass vessel sink, a full rain shower, good storage areas and comes stocked with the supplies you'll need for your stay including a hair dryer, soaps and shampoos, and lotions to help you pamper your skin after hours of being in the sun. This is the perfect small villa to enjoy a special occasion such as a honeymoon (we host lots of honeymoon guests!) anniversary, birthday, or other special event, including a small wedding. If you have a larger group, you can rent the sister property next door, the Treehouse Hideaway Villa II, which sleeps 4 to 5. The two villas are separated by lush tropical gardens, ensuring that you'll have all the privacy that you want for your tropical getaway. So leave your cares behind and come stay in the romantic, nature-inspired treehouse in one of the best locations in St. Lucia and enjoy the views your friends back home will wish they could experience too! Notes: Treehouse I vs. Treehouse II We operate two treehouse villas in the area: Treehouse I and II. You can find them both on TripAdvisor. The Treehouse I villa is a little smaller than Treehouse II. It's designed for a single traveler, a couple, or a couple and a guest. Its open air environment is very cozy and is perfect for nature lovers. The Treehouse II villa is a little larger with a top and bottom floor. This villa is perfect for a couple or two couples, sharing a special time together. The kitchen in Treehouse II is a bit larger and features more working space and appliances. Each Treehouse comes with its own private plunge pool and the villas are separated by very lush gardens ensuring that there is maximum privacy between the villas. Both villas can be rented together to support a group of 6+, for a special stay with good friends and family. Let us know about your needs and we'll try to accommodate them.

Convent location for a Plein Air Painter and her scuba diving Husband!
Well organized with detailed instructions about pre planning the logistics, experiences, being at the home and getting the most of our St Lucia week from a responsive Host, and on the ground by a professional Manager Damian, organized our professional, helpful, friendly and reliable drivers from the airport and gave us a house mobile phone to contact all our outside needs and graciously introduced the house upon arrival with some cold brews and sparkling water in the refrigerator. Fabie cooked us a family sized meal of local vegetables, fruits and fish, enough for generous leftovers for days of dinners. The plunge pool was a oasis for keeping cool and enjoying the numerous birds that feast in the yard in the bird feeders available for their enjoyment.

A Fabuolous Stay
We really loved our stay at the Treehouse! The views, location, and hospitality were fabulous. We’re so glad we stayed here instead of one of the resorts. All of the things we wanted to do were nearby and we we loved the walkable beaches, especially Anse Mamin. The villa is well stocked so you don’t have to pack much. Make sure to try out the local food that the villa manager can make for you.

Absolutely stunning villa
We loved the Treehouse Hideaway Villa! The location was beautiful, with amazing views of the Pitons and the Caribbean right from the deck!! The Villa is charming and very cozy and comfortable!! Bullfinches and grey tremblers came right to the deck and ate mango off the dining table!! It's close to Anse Chastenet beach with great snorkeling! Be aware it's a little ways from town and getting around without a rental vehicle requires planning. What an amazing location!!!

Perfect Hideaway with views to boast!
The Treehouse Hideaway Villa is located in Soufriere which is the perfect location from which to explore the region. Views of the Pitons and the water were both calming and exhilarating. The array of bird species that enjoyed breakfast with me each morning was exciting. The property manager Charmaine was very helpful and responded promptly to all my requests. The plunge pool was the perfect way to end each day at the villa. I could go on and on - The Treehouse Hideaway Villa 1 was just what I needed to exhale and refresh! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Treehouse and look forward to a return trip sooner rather than later.

Honeymoon Bliss at the Treehouse!
My wife and I visited St. Lucia for our honeymoon and we stayed at the Treehouse in Soufriere. This was our first guesthouse stay and we really loved it. We did a lot of research online before our trip and we're so glad that we found the Treehouse. We couldn't imagine finding a better location in Soufriere. The views of the Pitons and ocean here were just amazing and being close to the beaches and town made our stay really easy. We felt really private here and loved having our own pool and gardens to enjoy. We weren't sure if we should have arranged for a car or not before our trip so we decided to wing it and use local transportation for the first part of our trip. Once we were there, the villa manager helped us rent a small jeep for a few days so that we could do the Piton hike on our own and visit a few other sites. The Soufriere area is very hilly but once we got used to driving around we didn't mind at all. The trip to the Treehouse from the airport is fairly easy, about a 45 minute drive. The owner of the villa arranged for a nice driver, Claive, to pick us up and we ended up using him for a few other trips around the area. Before our trip the owner sent us a few travel guides about the area that they have produced for their guests and the guides really helped us plan out our trip and save some money. We originally thought about spending part of our trip in the Castries or Rodney Bay area but the drive there from the airport was long so we just decided to pick one area. We were also concerned about staying in an area that might be too touristy for us. We were glad we picked the Soufriere area because the beaches were so nice there and we loved the more local feel of the area. No big crowds. The snorkeling at Anse Chastanet was also good but we found it's wise to go early before any boats come around. We also really liked being able to walk over from Anse Chastanet to Anse Mamin. This beach was so quiet and natural and we were able to really enjoy the fabulous hamburgers they make there. The location of the Treehouse was perfect for us because it was close enough to really nice beaches and also the town. The views in the area are some of the best we experienced during our trip. We loved getting up in the morning sitting on the deck or enjoying our coffee and juices at the open air bar and looking at at the Pitons and ocean. We were really comfortable staying in the treehouse. It got really warm in the afternoon when the sun was going down but usually we were enjoying the pool then or out visiting one of the nearby beaches. The bedroom also has ac which really kept us comfortable at night. Once we settled in and got used to the sounds of the birds, enjoying the views, and the hospitality here it was hard to leave after a week. The villa came with a complete staff and the hospitality was just like staying at a hotel. Housekeeping service were provided whenever we wanted and the villa manager made meals for us on a few nights. This was some of the best food we had during our stay and dinning here really helped us with our travel budget as the hotel restaurants in the area are pricey. We did celebrate one night and dine at Ladera, which we really enjoyed, especially with the awesome views there between the Pitons. But make sure you go early. Some of the activities that we enjoyed the most while staying here included snorkeling at Anse Chatanet and at a nearby local beach called "Secret Beach", hiking the Tet Paul Trail, hiking in the Edmund forest, Sapphire Falls, and taking a boat tour along the coast from Soufriere to Castries that the villa manager arranged for us. We really loved St. Lucia and staying in Soufriere. This was certainly a 5 star honeymoon getaway for us!

Really Enjoyed Our Stay!
We visited St. Lucia in December and stayed at the Treehouse I Villa for four nights as well as the Fond Doux Plantation for three nights. We loved both experiences. After staying at the rainforest property we moved over to the Treehouse which is very near Anse Chastanet. What we liked about this location is that we could go down to the beach on our own and the views from the villa and the whole area were something out of a travel magazine. My husband really liked the open air environment and the covered deck that looks out onto the Pitons. We were amazed at the number of hummingbirds that we saw visiting the gardens throughout the day. We had some initial concerns about bugs but at the time while we were staying we didn't have any issues at all. The villa was also equipped with plenty of things to help (lotions and sprays) and the bed had fully netting. The villa comes with a staff that really knows the area and are very helpful and accommodating. My husband wanted to do some local activities outside of the typical tourist things and Charmaine the manager connected us up with some locals so that we could do local fishing and explore parts of the rainforest that are really unique. This was a big highlight for us as well as the sailing adventure we took to see the Pitons with Mystic Man Tours. Seeing the beautiful, lush area from the water is the way to go. The area where the villa is located is a bit hilly so walking into town is a bit challenging. Walking into town is easier than walking back up. But the villa has local drivers available and a cell phone so that you can call a driver any time you want to take the very quick ride into town or get a pickup whenever you want. The town is very close to the villa, about 1 mile away. This makes it easy enough to get around without a car. If we ever get a chance to come back to St. Lucia we would consider renting a jeep so that we could explore the area a little more. There is so much to see in the area and the villa owner provided us with a very helpful guide in advance so that we could plan out our trip and get in as much fun as possible. Although we really wanted to do a lot, just relaxing on the deck and watching nature and the sunsets made us happy. Overall we had really good weather. The villa is very "artsy" and so nicely designed for a small house. We found that it had everything we needed. We felt really private here and loved the lush tropical gardens as well as the very refreshing plunge pool. The kitchen was really nicely designed and equipped although we didn't have to use it much as the villa manager prepared a welcome meal for us and we dinned at the nearby resort for a few nights. The bedroom was really comfortable and we loved having the big sliding doors that could be opened to take in the views. We even watched movies on a few nights with the smart tv to take a break from nature! For a special occasion night out we dinned at the restaurant at the Ladera Resort which the owner of the villa recommended. The food and the views at the resort was a big treat. All in all, this was a really relaxing and memorable vacation. We always wanted to visit St. Lucia and this trip turned out better than we were even hoping. The island is a lot lusher than other islands that we have visited and the scenery is really striking. For a great easy way to see the Pitons, make sure you do the Tet Paul hike. We're really happy we found the treehouse and would highly recommend it.

Thanks so much for staying with us at the Treehouse and for your nice comments about your stay. We're happy to hear that you really enjoyed the villa and that you were able to get in some nice local experiences. We love the Fond Doux Plantation also so glad to hear that you were able to enjoy a few special places during your trip to St. Lucia. We often suggest to or first time visitors that they consider just using the local drivers and guides in the area to get around. That way they won't have to worry about driving as the terrain is a bit hilly. But having a vehicle is a good way to go if you don't mind driving on the island because it can give you the freedom to explore some of the off the beaten path sites the area is known for. You'll have to come back and visit us again and explore more of the area.

Love the Treehouse
Wow, we loved staying at the Treehouse Hideaway I Villa! This turned out to be our best Caribbean vacation. We have stayed at other small homes on different islands but this villa experience was the best so far. We can't wait to go back. Our adventure started after we arrived at the airport and the villa owner arranged to have a local driver/guide pick us up. We were able to do a little shopping along the way and we arrived at the villa just as the sun was going down. The villa manager, Charmaine, met us as we arrived and had an impressive multi course welcome meal waiting for us. The dinner was so good that we thought it was one of the best meals we had while visiting St. Lucia. The fist thing that impressed us was the views from the villa. They were far better than the photos. We also loved the uniqueness and charm of the villa. The manager told us that it had been recently renovated and we loved all of the attention to detail and all of the art throughout the villa and the gardens. The villa is small but everything is well thought out and you'll find everything you need from good snorkeling gear to a fully stocked kitchen and even gourmet coffee from the rainforest. Before our trip we had some concerns about staying in an open air style house but once we got here we realized that with all of the breezes and air flow that we were quite comfortable. The bedroom has ac but we hardly ever used it. The bed was so cozy that we slept better than we have in a very long time! The villa has an open air floor plan that looks out to the Pitons and the sea. Our favorite thing to do each day was to sit on the deck and be memorized by the view. The villa itself has a large master bedroom with beautiful handmade king bed, living room, dinning area, full kitchen, and bathroom. The deck also has a bar area that is perfect for enjoying a Piton beer. We also loved the refreshing plunge pool and hanging out on the pool deck each day enjoying the sun. Hanging around the villa we loved seeing all of the birds and the wildlife. The Treehouse is designed so that you can slide open the giant barn doors and take in the natural world. Or if you want to nest, you can close up the sleeping area. The villa is very close to the Anse Chastanet Resort, which was a real bonus for us. For the first part of our trip we explored the area around the villa and walked to the beach each day. The grounds at the resort are beautiful and we tried out a few of the restaurants there. We especially liked walking over to Anse Mamin (beach) which was our favorite on the island. We could have spent all of our time on this beach. Anse Chastanet was good for snorkeling but Mamin is a more local beach for swimming and relaxing. We also rented a vehicle for the second half of our trip. The roads in the area are very hilly and bumpy so it's good to get something to handle the roads. It wasn't hard driving here but you do have to adjust to the road conditions. Having the vehicle gave us the chance to explore the Soufriere area and see some of the sites such as the botanical gardens, a few waterfalls, Sugar Beach, the Gros Piton hike, and sulphur springs. For the hike, we drove to Choiseul and did the hike starting from the beach. It was a long hike but well worth the effort. Our favorite adventure was to hire a local guide and visit the rainforest in the hills above Soufriere. We loved everything about the Treehouse. It was super clean and stylish, the staff were really friendly and always looked after us, and we loved the location, which was perfect for accessing all of the local attractions and beaches. We found that all of the people we met in the area to be super friendly and we made some friends that we're hoping to connect up with when we return to St. Lucia. We can't stop thinking about the good time that we had!

So happy to hear that you really enjoyed Charmaine's meals. The local food in St. Lucia is so fresh and good that it's really nice to experience it in this way. We're glad that our staff could help you connect up with some of our favorite local guides to show you the unique rainforest and some of the other off the beaten path sites. Thanks for letting us know what you liked about the Treehouse I as it helps us continue to make our guest experiences really special. Come back and see us again and explore more of Soufriere and Choiseul, our home away from home!

Our Best Villa Stay So Far
We stayed in this cozy villa as well as the other villa nearby, the Treehouse Hideaway II. We reviewed the other villa on TA but we thought we would review this one also because we really enjoyed it too. The Treehouse II is a little bigger and has a bottom floor so if you have a bigger group, say 4 people, you might find that a better fit for your needs. Both villas are really private and separated from each other by distance and lush tropical gardens. This villa, Treehouse I, is perfect for a couple or a single traveler. We really loved it because it is really cozy and just the right size for two people. The villa is built around a floating deck that has striking views of the Pitons and the ocean. Every morning we had breakfast on the deck as we took in the view and watched all of the birds come by. We were amazed at all of the different birds that we were able to identify. One morning the gardener came by, Alvin, and showed us how we could throw out peanuts and the flycatchers would swoop down and catch the nuts in mid-air. This was very entertaining. The bedroom stayed fairly comfortable and we didn’t have any problems with bugs. There is a netting for the bed but we never had to use it. We also didn’t have to use the air conditioning. The tempature was perfect for us at night. The sun can get a little warm in the afternoon for a few hours but it’s really easy to cool off by taking a nice dip in the private plunge pool, which is always the perfect temp. The kitchen is small but it certainly has everything you need. You can store a lot in the fridge and the oven/stove and microwave is perfect for cooking up a few meals. We wanted to try out some of the locall coffee beans that we got so Charmaine even got us a coffee grinder. With such an open air concept my wife was worried about the elements or with the villa getting dusty and such. But Charmaine the house manager kept the villa spot less. We really enjoyed her cooking also and she was a big help for arranging all of the activities that we wanted to do. One morning we even got to hike up the Gros Piton, using a special trail that Charmaine told us about that starts from a picturesque local beach. Next time we come back to St Lucia we want to try to explore that area a little more. Everywhere you go, the scenery is just breathtaking. Another thing we really liked about the villa was the area. You can easily walk to Anse Chastanet and the other beach, Anse Mamin, which was our favorite beach in the area. But Anse Chastanet is the beach to go to if you want to snorkel. It’s also a good location to catch a water taxi into Soufruere. The resort is really friendly to outside guests and you can dine here or have drinks if you want to. We ate about half of our meals at the Treehouse and the other meals at local restaurants in and around town. I think our two favorites were Martha”s Tables and Fedos. We als had Charmaine cook for us one night and sh3 also picked up some take out for us one night. We weren’t sure how the dinning situation would be for a villa stay like this but it turned out really easy. We loved trying out all of the local food and many of our meals were quite inexpensive. For a special night out we tried out Mango Tree at Stonefield Estate, which had amazing views and really good food. It was an easy cab ride away. One of our days we hired a local driver that Charmaine recommended, Clavie, to take us around and explore some of the unique attractions in the area. This was a great way to see some things that you might not get to see on your own. We can’t wait to come back next year and stay at one of the Treehouses again!

Perfect stay completely exceeding our expectations
The treehouse 1 is a great home base to explore Soufriere and the surrounding area. Charmaine will take care of all your needs. From a lovely welcome dinner to arranging transportation to helping with helpful hints all week- we really appreciated her assistance. The home is an open air plan tropical hideaway. It suited our needs for cooking, as we are vegan and do not eat out much while on vacation. Charmaine made a great meal for us the first night. The kitchen is fully equipped and their is soap and shampoo/conditioner. Bug spray is also provided, its needed on your legs while at the beach. We did not feel bothered by bugs while at the Treehouse but we did burn a mosquito coil at night. The bed is really comfortable and we slept great. We enjoyed the resident cat Coco who is very polite and will hang out with you only if you give her a “I love cats” vibe. The beach is a 10 min walk though the walk back is all uphill. We visited several times and took the beach chair once. Anse Mamin beach bar offers a good veggie burger. We walked up the hill to overlook the town and walked into town several times. We also walked to the Diamond botanical gardens and mineral bath, its about a 45 min hike. The groceries in town are more than enough for basic provisions, we found some great bread and corn cake in a tiny shop near the police station. Just ask Charmaine for any hints or special needs. We will be booking again for next year!

About the neighborhood
My wife and I have been coming to St Lucia for over a decade. We have stayed in locations all over the island but this is always the area we come back to over and over again. It's like home to us. The scenery, the reef, the people, the adventures, bring us back again and again. That's why we purchased the Treehouse villas when they became available. This villa is located in a neighborhood of multi million dollar villas all featuring amazing views of the Pitons and the inviting Caribbean ocean. The best feature of the area is that you can walk right to the beach. Anse Chasatanet and Anse Mamin are a fairly short walk downhill a little over a half mile away. From the villa, you can also walk to Soufriere town, which is about a mile away.
Getting around
Guests often ask us if they should rent a vehicle or use other transportation, like taxis and private drivers? Not an easy question to answer because each guest we host has different needs. But here are a few tips: If you like to drive and don't mind driving in a hilly terrain (with not the most modern roads) and you like to explore on your own, then you might want to consider renting a vehicle. We can help you rent a vehicle so you can pick it up at the airport or have it delivered to the villa after you arrive. We always recommend that our guests rent a vehicle with higher ground clearance to handle the St Lucia roads. If your stay is shorter and you want to be pampered, you might want to use taxis and private drivers.

How to get there
The main airport to fly into in St. Lucia is Vieux Fort (UVF). Many major airlines fly into this airport. The drive from UVF to Soufriere takes about 45 minutes. The Treehouse villa is located right outside of the town of Soufriere. The town is an active fishing village with a number of shops and nice outdoor markets. This area of the island is where many of the noted scenic attractions are located--the Pitons, rainforest, pristine beaches, volcano and mud baths, and so on. To get to the Treehouse from town, you can walk or drive. You simply take the Anse Chastanet Road as if you are going to the resort. At about half way along the road, you'll find our villa in the foothills.
