We rent this great two bedroom apartment with a wonderful ocean view in our small real estate project, Dream View Estate. The apartment is fully equipped, has a large kitchen and each bedroom has its own bathroom and walk-in closet. A large terrace opens up on the garden and a path leading to our large infinity view pool.
We are out in the countryside, meaning peace and quiet in a quiet, green, forested environment; but we're only a 10 minutes drive from town, it's 15 to 20 minutes to the nearest beach, super market, restaurants and nightlife. Puerto Plata is a mid-sized town, no big traffic jams, friendly people, many amenities such as restaurants, cafes, hospitals, etc.

Mountain top apartment
The apartment was very beautiful. Well maintained gardening and pool. Ocean view is far but beautiful. Jacuzzi is sun heated same as the pool. Be prepared for rain on top of the mountain. Dirt road up the mountain is rough. Over all as a getaway, it's well worth the money and I would rent again.

About the neighborhood
We are a 10 to 15 minutes drive from town, in hills in the countryside. Our project is partly forested, and part consists of rough pasture - that's where our building lots are located. For now there are no other homes around, only the two villas in our project and our staff home. It's quiet, peaceful, lots of fruit and other trees, we'll be happy to show you around our property. And there are cool ocean breezes - no AC needed from November to May.
There is a village close by, we have an excellent relationship with the people there - in fact, the mayor works for us! This also greatly helps with security - we've never had any problems in the seven years we've been here, knock on wood. We have alarm systems just in case.
Getting around
If you want to get around do get a rental car, preferably an SUV, as the road up to our place is not asphalted. The road's condition varies, but it never becomes impassable. There is public transport: on the back of small motorcycles, and once in town, also taxis - mostly shared, on fixed routes, for less than a dollar. We can also call a private taxi for you.

We'll give yo clear indications on how to get to our place once you've booked. If you want to get around it's advisable to rent a car, you can get one at the airport or in Puerto Plata. Or we can help you rent a car - a better one at a lower price than agencies at the airport offer. Usually our rental contact can also arrange for you to be picked up and brought back to the airport without extra cost. Check with us!
