Le Hamel is a traditional French farmhouse situated near the rural village of Domjean about 1.5 miles and a 15 mins drive from the small country town of Torigni-sur-Vire.
Domjean has a small supermarket, baker, excellent restaurant, mini-golf course. A chocolate factory in nearby village of Moyon,
Torigni boasts a weekly market (Monday) as well as larger shops, more eating places and both Champion and Lidl supermarkets.
The surrounding countryside is wonderful walking country with plenty of views and a river.
The main regional town is St Lo, about 20 mins drive away, with a picturesque castle, river, the National Equestrian Centre and the usual shops, market and restaurants.

Ferries and the Fastcraft operate from Portsmouth and Poole to Caen, St Malo and Cherbourg. The nearest airport is Cherbourg (flights from Southampton) and Caen.
Le Hamel was the perfect place for us to stay. Susie was a lovely host and nothing was too much trouble. It is a peaceful and beautiful cottage and the large garden was perfect for our two dogs. Domjean itself is a quaint little village with a wonderful restaurant 'St Michel' and the larger town of Torigni is only a 10 minute drive away. The village shop had everything we needed on a day to day basis and the supermarket was only five minutes away. Le Hamel made a great base for discovering Normandy and we can't wait to return!

Perfect holiday rental in Normandy!
A very charming, rustic french cottage. Great location for visiting a number of different places of interest in Normandy. The gite was very well equipped with everything you could ask for... Lots of space and great for young families with children.

Just a great family friendly cottage with a fantastic garden for a great price.
Really lovely. Old fashioned cottage with a huge private garden tucked up a lovely French country lane. Lovely nearby quaint village with restaurant and boulangerie. Clean, secure and well kitted out.

A little slice of Heaven in Northern France
Old style gite, well kitted-out with the added bonus of English TV. Beautiful views from all the rooms and the garden is a wonderful addition - great if you go with the kids. I think the property would benefit from WiFi as it's quite remote and cyber-addicts may feel some withdrawal symptoms! However, we had a wonderful week there in May with great weather, many nights of peaceful slumber and several days-out to local places of interest.
