Cottage was converted six years ago and was classified four star by tourist board and is fully equipped to a high standard. Although only designated for two guests this is a spacious single floor property with ample space for travel cot or camp bed if needed. There is dining table seating for six to allow for some entertaining if there are friends in the area. Gardens can be utilised by guests and barbeque facilities and tables are available. About the neighborhood
The hamlet of Southole is in a wooded combe surrounded by National Trust land and with a stream called the Strawberry Water running through the valley bottom on the way to the sea at Welcombe Mouth. South West Coastal path is within 250 metres of Southole via our paddock or a National Trust owned field Nearby is the small village of Welcombe with a community shop and a pub, slightly further out is Hartland with its shops, more pubs and Hartland Abbey and Gardens. Docton Mill and its gardens are also close by Further out and just over the Cornwall border is the village of Kilkhampton for shopping and pubs and the up and coming attractive town of Bude with its beaches, cafes shops and canal is within half hours travel. Supermarkets and petrol stations are at Bude, Bideford and Holesworthy
How to get there
Smudgers is approximately 4 miles from the A39 Atlantic Highway and 60 miles from the M5 at Junction 27 Tiverton via A361 and A39.
