Lonesome Duck was the perfect getaway for our family of 6 (kiddos aged 10, 7 and 4 ...plus grandma). My only regret is we didn’t stay longer! The property is stunning. We are all frequent travelers and all agree we have never felt so instantly relaxed. The properly is beautiful and well appointed. Staff was kind. Llamas, kayaks, wildlife! It was exceptional & we are ready to book our next visit. Thank you for the memories.

They were just what we needed right about now. Our family was so fortunate to be able to stay at Lonesome Duck this summer. We made the long, drive up from Santa Monica and were pleasantly greeted by Steve, the owner, and Vicki, the manager, just as we pulled into the ranch. It's so nice to feel comfortable right when you check in to a new place. The cabin was as luxurious as one can be. It was well-designed and stylishly appointed...completely changing my attitude towards logs. Mornings were sitting in an Adirondack chair on the porch, iced coffee, a book, and watching the creek go by for hours. Afternoons were throwing pinecones to the dog, heavy horseshoes in the yard, and canoeing past rusty cars, jumping fish and dancing water bugs. Nights were family Uno, fleeting bat silhouettes at dusk, and towering trees making a skylight to the stars. Highly recommend for an indelible piece of nature and indispensable peace of mind.

Lonesome Duck is one of the most enjoyable places my wife and I have ever stayed. The scenic riverfront, well-kept grounds, spacious rooms, meticulous attention to detail and absolute cleanliness were fantastic. The manager and proprietor, Suzanne and Steve, are extremely pleasant and helpful. We look forward to returning there!

I found this place on line and am so glad we did. What a gem. We stayed in the smaller of the two cottages with 2 bedrooms and one bath plus we used their rollaway bed for my son. It had a cozy living room, full kitchen and great porch. The house is right on the river where we were able to canoe and kayak. It was so peaceful. The owners also have a small pond that my girls were able to go swimming in with tubes they provided. My animal loving daughter got to feed the horses and llamas as well. We coked steaks on the grill and made breakfast in the fully stocked kitchen. There is really nothing around close but it is a perfect location for train mountain and Crater Lake. Such a great time we had. The managers and owners really go out of their way to make sure you have an enjoyable trip.

My husband and I stayed at the Arrowhead cottage at the Lonesome Duck Ranch while visiting Crater Lake National Park. It is a peaceful and secluded property along the Williamson River. The cottage is very well maintained and has a nice layout and all the amenities. There is a large porch on the riverside with bird feeders that were constantly full of little visitors. The managers are on site and very helpful and knowledgeable. There aren't many stores or restaurants nearby, so bring what you need!

We visited in mid-September and enjoyed every minute of a 3-day stay. We're fly fishermen and hikers so that was our focus. We just wish we had more time to learn from the manager, Marshal A. Moser, Jr., a Certified Wildlife Biologist. He's warm and helpful with a wealth of information about every natural thing your eyes see. We stayed in the Arrowhead Cottage which was spacious, comfortable and gave spectacular views of the Williamson River. Steve Hilbert, the owner, stopped by to make sure everything was satisfactory. Jeff Fox, our fishing guide, was excellent, funny, helpful and super-hard working. We landed some impressive trout and happily returned them to their rivers to get even bigger and increase the trout population. Thank you, Steve and Debbie, Marshal and Suzie Moser, and Jeff.

We stayed seven nights in the Arrowhead Cabin and could not have been more delighted with the accommodation and location on the Williamson River. Jeff the fishing guide spent three days sharing his skills to catch the wieldy trout on the Williamson and Wood River. The location is also great for exploring and hiking around Crater Lake.

Visited there and had a great time with our small family. Plenty to do for everyone. The cabin was clean and very comfortable. Not a single complaint nor suggestion for improvement. Starting with the welcoming committee of horses, llamas and Clara the Wonder Dog; to the fantastic fishing and canoeing; and, the hammock under the trees overlooking a beautiful lazy river -- it was a great Summer retreat.

This is an extraordinary place to stay with very well appointed cabins on a beautiful spot on the river, abundant bird and other wildlife in the grounds and excellent managers. Marshall, a keen ornithologist also had some fantastic local tips (Wood River the best). Nice trails on the property and of course not too far from Arguably Oregon's finest spit, Crater Lake. It isn't easy to find as the turn off the highway is almost on the bridge and the angles aren't great so go slow when you get close!
