Roccalbegna, Province of Grosseto, Tuscany
The property with two bedrooms is on the first floor of an ancient cottage recently restored. It is nestled in the hillside with spectacular views across the valley and down to the coast. In clear days you can see the Giglio island. It has its own private garden where you can sunbathe, have a barbecue, or just enjoy the lovely views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The cottage is part of a small hamlet, called Poderone, made of 9 independent cottages each restored to an excellent standard. The private pool is about 100 meters from the house. At the entrance of the hamlet there is a free parking for the tenants of Poderone. Inside the hamlet there are no paved roads. The cottage, furnished with antique furniture, has a traditional wooden ceiling and terracotta floors. The living room/kitchen corner has a double sofa bed, an armchai... Read more

Great place to stay and enjoy the Tuscan countryside. From the windows we had a panoramic view of the Tuscan hills. The cottage itself is very cozy. Everything we might have needed during our stay, unfortunately short, was there. It is not near the sea, but there are so many things to do and places to visit. There are plenty of picturesque villages nearby. Santa Fiora in particular is a very charming medieval village. The locals are very friendly and create a pleasant atmosphere. We bought excellent cheese and olive oil from local producers. Although Saturnia is the closest thermal bath to the cottage we chose to drive approximately one hour to Bagno Vignoni and it was well worth the trip. The main square, a pool with hot springs, is just amazing. Least, but not last, this part of Tuscany is pretty much undiscovered and there are few tourists, except probably in August. I would highly recommend this place for lovers of authentic Italy.

Management response:

Great that you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to have you and your partner as guests.
