MILLENDREATH is a small inlet with its own sandy, private beach, 1 mile from the main town of Looe to the West. It is not dog friendly. ( Plaidy beach is- 5 minute walk away) There is a tranquil air to the place as there is no through traffic. There are coastal walks with breath-taking views in every direction; Woodland walks starting from your door and picnic areas in scenic locations. Millendreath is so secluded you may have difficulty finding it on a map, yet it is so close to some of the best known attractions in the West Country. There is a jetty which provides an enclosed bathing area or fishing platform when the tide is in. There are numerous rock pools and crevices. When the tide is out you can walk along the beach-front, or take a 20 minute coastal path walk or 5 minute drive to Looe where there is ample parking. Being close to the A38 there is always somewhere to explore.LOOEThe picturesque fishing town of Looe is situated on the spectacular South Cornwall Coast in a largely unspoilt area of the South West. It has an unpretentious charm and an excellent range of facilities with traditional Inns and cosy pubs tucked away in the pretty narrow streets. Many 15th Century building remain. Restaurants, galleries, cafes, shops and convenience stores are found in this quaint fishing village. There is ample parking in Looe. Families love to fish for crabs from the quayside.A variety of boats can be hired including a ferry or glass bottomed boat which will also take you around Looe Rock (St Georges island) Try a spot of fishing for yourself, deep sea shark, conger or mackerel are are in the area. Dolphins and seals are also often seen.The coastline in this region is stunning and is accessible by the scenic Cornwall South Coast Path. You can walk to the neighbouring fishing village Polperro,(5 miles) where you will find a smaller version of Looe with its quaint working harbour, pedestrianized streets and fabulous gift shops, galleries, good selection of pubs and restaurants. Looe hosts a range of events including sailing regattas, Looe music festival, carnival week and even a duck race! New Year at Looe is made really special with the whole town celebrating in fancy dress and fireworks at midnight off the beach.
