Lovely location but accommodation could have been far better.
Small break away with family, location was amazing however the Barn was not up to standard. General maintenance was lacking as was the cleanliness. Bathroom was old and in need of a new refit, toilet bowl was dirty, sink plug does not work so you cant have a wash properly, shower is dirty in corners. Main bedroom with sleigh bed has no wardrobe to store you clothes, bed has two mattress and one topper making it very high to sleep on and isn't very comfortable. Lounge area has old worn furniture, chairs need to be changed they are dirty and worn, flooring in kitchen area is sunken and water damaged and needs replacing. We had to defrost the freezer as we couldn't use it due to it being so iced up. Only left 3 toilet rolls for a 3 night stay for 5 guests, had to leave site to purchase more. Hot water is so hot you can burn you hands and the taps are not mixer ones so it comes out piping hot. Tv did not work on first night, host had to call out repair man to rewire tv, this should have been checked prior to our arrival. Kitchen hob is so old the led lights do not fully work so you cant tell what setting you have the hob on at to cook food. Paintwork needs refreshing, celling in loft area is very grubby and needs a fresh coat. There is a wasps nest in the roof in the outside dining area. The back of the barn outside has open foul drainage and is not safe, children could lift the board when exploring and get human waste on them, this needs to be fixed immediately! You will see in my photo some of the issues i have raised.

Top Class
This is a superb place to stay! Jacinta, the host, was so attentive. We were a family of five in the Barn. It was a privilege to share this peace of the Earth for a week :) Thank you so much for sharing with us! And such a nice welcome on arrival with all the necessities provided for the week...tea, coffee etc. So many places to visit within an easy distance. I've told so many people about this place and two have booked already. Big thumbs up.

So peaceful
We decided that we needed to take a small staycation for a couple of days and came across this gem. It was only an hour and twenty minutes away, but it felt like we were miles away. The accommodation was fabulous and had everything that we needed. It was only a short walk to the lake and the views were great. The bed was also extremely comfortable and we both felt so rested. Just a short drive to Multyfarnham or Mullingar, with many restaurants doing take away. Jacinta (the host) was always at hand from booking and throughout our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful
Myself and 5 friends recently stayed at Lake Lodge for 2 nights. Everything was lovely, from the beautifully manicured drive way to the cosy beds. We enjoyed it immensely and I would recommend it to anyone. Easy distance to Mullingar where there are many places to eat and drink. Jacinta was a lovely host and we hope to return next year!

Visit to Ireland for family reunion
On arrival at the cottage we were given a very warm welcome by Jacinta who was very informative about the area. It was a cosy and comfy cottage - very picturesque views and enjoyable walk to the lake. It was ideally situated for us to tour round County Westmeath and central. We were visiting relatives and had a cousins reunion. We could not have wished for a better place to stay.

Charming Lodge on a Lake
A family wedding brought me to seek accommodation in Westmeath. Lakelodge.ie is a charming, cosy dwelling set in a serene and scenic landscape. I often holiday in Ireland and tend to visit coastal towns. My stay at Lakelodge made me reflect on how much beauty the Midlands has to explore. A short drive from here in the rural town of Multyfarnham you will find an equally charming pub/restaurant (Weirs) for delicious food and drink. Go back and light the fire or go for a stroll around the lake. Everything you need including fresh linen, brown bread and an ample supply of books are provided.

Great spot for New Years Eve!
We rented both the lodge and the barn for New Years Eve. Jacinta is a great host and was always friendly and accommodating no matter what the request. We were a group of 11 friends looking for something different for New Years Eve. The accomodation was spotlessly clean with everything you could need- the welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch. The Barn had the more spacious living accomodation so we used this as the place for everho e to relax. Jacinta helped us with arranging taxis into Multyfarham for the night-highly recommend Ryan's taxi service, prompt and cost less than €10 each return. Our only tiny issue was the lack of signage to the accomodation. There is a hugely impressive driveway but it could do with some sign posting to the accom. Ensure you get directions from Jacinta before you get there! Would highly recommend Lakelodges and look forward to coming back again.

Beautiful forest and lake location
We booked both the Lodge and the Barn as a group of 6 adults, 3 childred and a dog. It was perfect. Right on the edge of a forest and a lake with lovely walks it was perfect for us. We awoke the first morning to a very heavy frost which transformed the place into a winter wonderland, so Christmasy and beautiful. We used the barn as our base for dining as it had a huge open plan sitting/dining room area where we could all eat comfortably. It is very well equipped, comfortable and cosy. The Lodge has a woodburner which was well used during our stay. The owner lives closeby but we didnt need to disturb her during our stay as we were very well provided for. A welcome pack was available on arrival and a lovely bottle of champagne for one of the group who celebrated her 60th birthday during our stay. We ate out one night in Weirs bar in Multyfarnham which was excellent. Mullingar is a lovely town, bustling and with lots of interesting shops. The walks aroung Lake Lodge are great. Must be wonderful in summertime. Would really recommended this place, a lovely little forest retreat.
