Beautifull surroundings and a1 accommodation
For those looking for a holiday spot keep Tewksbury Lodge in mind a great spot for some time out, beautifull surroundings and a1 accommodation, add to that good fishing in the many rivers and there is even a Platypus at the bottom of the garden in the Ovens river what more can I say... Fantastic

Morrissey Winter Break
When we arrived early in the morning we received the warmest welcome from our hosts Paul and Claudia, they greeted us with freshly baked hot muffins, Yum! Wow what a start to our winter break.
I was in impressed by the peaceful sound of the ovens river running past the property as our hosts showed us around the grounds and the rustic charm and tranquil gardens were so inviting. Inside the amazing log cabin the facilities were surprisingly modern. The inside of the cabin was totally spotless, and we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and cosy, the beds are more comfortable than my beds at home and we slept like logs. The cabin was perfect in very possible way.
Our hosts Paul and Claudia were very informative of all the good shopping spots & restaurants and has a great knowledge of the local attractions the also knew were we could go to get the best deals on all our ski & snowboard hire in Porepunkah & Bright. Paul also knows the best spots for trout fishing along the ovens river however fishing is neither mine nor my son's thing.
We visited Mount Buffalo were we had hot chocolate and went tobogganing & Hotham where my 15 year old son learnt to snowboard for the first time. He was elated and he can't wait to do it again. I was astounded by how close these tourist places were to Tewksbury, but at same time how that the cabin was so remote and peaceful. I loved just sitting on the veranda of the cabbin sipping a nice glass of wine watching the beautiful King parrots feeding from the many bird feeders on the property it was just so relaxing.
I was totally blown away by the entire trip it really surpassed our expectations and we will defiantly be back next year, staying for longer this time.
Thanks again Tewksbury Lodge for your hospitality I will and do recommend Tewksbury Lodge to all my friends...
See you next year. Cheers

Wonderful
We thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay at Tewksbury Lodge. The log cabin was spacious, comfortable, clean and fully self contained. Great for families with young children as high chair, portacot, matress protector were all provided. The surroundings were picturesque and quiet and within short distance to Bright, the snow fields and other attractions. Our hosts were friendly and showed wonderful hospitality. The complimentary bottle of wine upon arrival and the muffins were great!

A PEACEFUL INTERLUDE
My wife, daughter and I arrived on Friday evening and stayed until the following Tuesday an interlude of 4 nights and 3 days, we were stunned by the Lodge, the fittings were very good and very comfortable, all we looked forward to was a few days of rest, we certainly got that, we had quality family time that one doesn't seem to get at home. Anyone who wants a peaceful interlude could do no better than stay at Tewksbury Lodge, with the river at the bottom of the property and the snowfields only a short distance away it is ideal. I will go again and thoroughly recommend it. Definitely a 10/10.

Paradise!
We stayed for 3 nights as family of four with our boys aged 8 and 4 years old. Paul is a great host and when chatting about gold panning offered us his gold pan and shovel. The kids loved the experience and thought we may strike it rich! The log cabin is beautifully equipped including a Nespresso coffee machine which was certainly something to look forward to in the morning. Each night we sat out on the deck of the log cabin, with an ale from the Bright Brewery, watching the king parrots feed. We would highly recommend staying here and will be back in winter as snow is just a short drive away.

Great place to stay near Bright
This was a wonderful place to stay - the cabin is quiet and private and extremely well set up. You might get the impression from the word cabin that it's small, but that's not the case - it is very spacious. It's on the banks of the Ovens River, and in a delightful garden setting. The owners have really set the cabin up extremely well. Excellent beds and furnishings, and the bathroom is great with a huge spa. However, it's all the little touches that count. The lovely bottle of local wine and chocolate when you check in, and the very well set up kitchen and laundry. They make such a difference when you are travelling and you find a place as nice as this one is. Bright is a lovely town - great to wander around in and I love the tree-lined streets, but this cabin is an absolute gem, and we were sad to leave. There are so many things to do around this area, and you really could not have a better base for exploring the area that this lovely log cabin.

Wants for nothing
This is quite simply the perfect getaway spot and base for exploring Bright and the High Country of Victoria. I can think of nothing that needs to change with Tewksbury Lodge and the owners are to be congratulated for such a wonderful property.
There are so many little touches that make the cabin feel like home. From the very well appointed kitchen to the extremely comfortable beds and reclining sofa Claudia has created somewhere that is a destination in its own right rather than just somewhere to spend a couple of nights. We will be back!

Loved it again :)
We've loved out stay here again and feel very spoiled to have spent 9 beautiful nights here. The cabin is in a quiet setting yet close to Porpunkah and lots of fabulous swimming holes on the Ovens River. Claudia and Paul made us feel very welcomed with their warmth and thoughtfulness. The Lodge is so comfortable and it's such a pleasure to stay here. Everything has been thought of and if there is something we needed (tomato sauce we forgot to buy!) they are very happy to help out. Loved the bunnies (pets), our daughter adored being able to feed them and give them a cuddle every day. We'll be back...the Lodge and this area are just too beautiful to stay away for too long.

Don't book through TripAdvisor!
TripAdvisor are not authorised to take payment for this accommodation. Was contacted by owner as fees are wrong for more than 2 people. Had to stuff around to get funds released from TripAdvisor to pay for accommodation directly. Either book though their website or call them. Extremely friendly and helpful!

About the neighborhood
Bright (including Wandiligong and Porepunkah) are among most beautiful towns, particularly in autumn and spring, on the edge of the Snowy Mountains. Situated 308 km north-east of Melbourne, the township and shire of Bright is nestled in the beautiful Ovens Valley and surrounded by the towering Australian Alps. Nearby are the resorts of Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek. In autumn the russet tones and the colourful blaze, against the backdrop of the pine-clad hills, adds to the appeal of this scenic district.

Mount Buffalo National Park entrance is 5 mins from Tewksbury Lodge. The mountain has sheer cliffs, imposing granite tors, tumbling waterfalls, snow gums and stunning wildflowers. The park features over 90km of walking tracks, panoramic scenery, waterfalls and scope for adventurous pursuits such as rock climbing and hang-gliding.

Mount Buffalo is an all-seasons playground. In summer, wildflowers are plentiful and the park is a cool retreat from the heat of the lowlands. Take in superb 360-degree views from the summit of the Horn and the delightful Gorge Heritage Walk.
