Oz en Oisans is directly linked by two cable cars to the two extensive mountain ranges of Alpe D'Huez and Vaujany which provide over 325km of uninterrupted skiing, popular with both skiers and snowboarders alike. There is a drag lift at the back of the chalet. The resort is particularly suited to families, with most of the village pedestrianised. There is a supermarket, a number of restaurants, sports shops, bars and a ski school. There is also a public heated indoor swimming pool and a spa area with whirlpool, sauna and steam room. Oz also has a climbing wall, badminton courts and an outdoor ice-rink in the winter season. Oz is a relatively small village which means there are relatively few queues at the cable cars, so you can be up on the mountains in no time. Another advantage of the area is that there are a wide range of slopes to satisfy beginners through to advanced skiers. The mountains are dotted with a range of restaurants so you are never too far away from a hot meal or a welcome cup of coffee. There are over 250 kilometres of runs, including the Sarenne black slope, the longest run in the world. Starting from Pic Blanc (3,330m), it continues on and on, down to the Gorges de Sarenne (1,510m) for 16 kilometres. Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine Ski (1,135m – 3,300m) 80 lifts 918 snow canons 250 km of skiing on 135 ski runs : • 42 green runs • 37 blue runs • 39 red runs • 17 black runs Oz-en-Oisans / Vaujany (1,135m - 2,800m) 22 lifts 660 snow canons 75 km of skiing on 41 ski runs: • 12 green runs • 14 blue runs • 12 red runs • 3 black runs There is a purpose built crèche. Children are welcome from 6 months up to 6 years either for half-day sessions (9h to 12h30 and from 13h30 to 17h) or for the full day. Parents can enjoy skiing alone whilst the crèche provides fun activities for your children who are looked after by fully qualified staff. For children from 3 years old, the crèche operates an introduction to ski in conjunction with the local Ecole du Ski. There is a maximum capacity of 20 children so advance booking is essential through the local tourist office at oz-en-oisans Throughout July and August Oz springs into life as a centre for sports and walking. In and around the village itself you can pick from activities such as paintball (16 and over), an acrobatic park with swings, monkey bridges and zip wires to suit all levels of ability (from 3 years), tennis, swimming, archery, trampolines, canyoning and fishing. In addition, cable cars provide direct access to explore high altitude lakes, glaciers, flora and fauna Oz is particularly popular with cyclists who flock here to watch the Tour de France. On 19th July 2014 the Tour will be passing through the valley very close to the chalet. There are numerous cycle races which take place over the summer in and around Oz, many of which you are free to enter. There are also a wide variety of cycle paths varying from easy routes through the valleys to various grades of mountain bike trails, one of which is within 20 metres of the chalet. Bikes can be hired in the village and the tourist office has full details of all the many trails. Alternatively, you can just sit back with a book and a glass of wine and relax on one of the two balconies and take in the beautiful mountain views. In the summer season there is a playgroup for younger children from 6 months to 6 years which can be booked for half or full day sessions. There is also a kids club for children up to 12, which provides a wide range of activities such as football, table tennis, video games. The Rhone/French Alps region Although there have been people in Rhône-Alpes since pre-historic times, the earliest recorded settlers of the region were the Gauls (Celts). Cities such as Lyon were founded by them and the region traded with both northern and southern Europe. Most of the area became part of Roman territory during the invasion of Celtic Gaul led by Julius Caesar. Situated between Paris and the Côte d'Azur, on the border with both Switzerland and Italy, and offering access to four international airports (Lyon, Grenoble, Chambery and Geneva), impressive rail connections and a vast motorway network, the Rhône-Alpes region is at 'the crossroads of Europe'. Boasting eight natural parks and sites such as Mont Blanc and the Gorges de l'Ardèche, the Rhône-Alpes offers a wide range of different landscapes: mountains, vineyards and gentle valleys, fields of lavender and olive groves. Every form of sport is readily available, set against an impressive natural backdrop: skiing, hiking, mountain biking or even paragliding and canoeing. In the east of the region the food has an Alpine flavour with dishes such as fondue, raclette, gratin dauphinois and gratin savoyard. Wines in this region include the very famous Beaujolais, Côtes du Rhône and Savoy wine. Chartreuse liqueur is made in the region. Further Details on the Chalet indoors 1st Floor: • Entrance hall with ski and boot rack and plenty of hooks to hang your coats. • A separate toilet. • A large, open plan room with fireplace, a sitting area with a coffee table and numerous books and games. There are also wooden steps leading up to the mezzanine bedroom. • A separate dining area seating 10. • A kitchen with dishwasher, full size oven with extractor hood, hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. Ground Floor: • Three bedrooms, each with 2 single beds and a spacious wardrobe. Each bedroom has a window with views of the mountains. • Another toilet • A separate shower room with sink, cupboards and heated towel rail • A separate bathroom with bath and overhead shower, heated towel rail and sink with cupboards. Mezzanine: • A separate enclosed bedroom with two single beds. This room is full height at one end and has restricted height at the other due to the apex of the roof. There is a clothes rail. Further details on the chalet outdoors There are two balconies on two sides of the chalet, both offering wonderful views of the mountains. One balcony has outdoor dining furniture. The chalet is heated by underfloor heating which is supplemented by heaters and an open fire. Further details The English owners aim to meet guests personally, but there is an English, French and Dutch speaking person available locally with anything you might need to make your stay more enjoyable. There is also a tourist information office in the village.

A fantastic Christmas stay
Cannot fault the Chalet at all. Spectacular views and easy access to everything you need. Both Gary and Jan were extremely helpful and informative throughout the booking process and during our stay. Oz is charming enough itself and access to Alpe D’Huez slopes is easy. Would certainly recommend.

Great summer mountain base
We stayed for just over a week in August 2023. (Family of five). I’ve been to the alps a lot and didn’t know what to expect from this area and was very happy with it - as were our three teenagers. The chalet is a comfortable base for all sorts of mountain activities - we only left the Eau d’Olle valley once, to go to the supermarket in Bourg en Oisans. We did several walks, a long via Ferrata in Vaujany, downhill mountain biking; rock climbing; swimming in the waterfall below the chalet / mountain lakes / Allemond swimming pool. Oz Station aka Station d’Olmet has bakers and a small local supermarket. We had dinner out at the Ferme d’Oz which did fantastic generous meals. In the area Oz village down the hillside has a lot going on in Summer including Wednesday 9am foot or bicycle ‘race’ up to Oz station; and lovely Thursday evening music / food stalls. Vaujany has a nice feel too, reachable by two cable cars from Oz station. Gary was very flexible and helpful. Thanks for a great holiday!

Beautiful chalet with breath taking views, two minutes walk from a quiet ski lift
Chalet Clementine is in a quiet location in the village of Oz en Oisans. The chalet is well positioned, 2 minute walk away from a button lift on a green run so you can ski right down to the chalet at the end of the day. The views from the chalet are truly breath taking, we enjoyed chilling out after a day on the slopes in front of the log fire or sitting on the sunny balcony eating lunch. There are three good sized bedrooms with lovely comfy beds, a separate bathroom with plenty of piping hot water and two separate toilets. There is no parking immediately next to the chalet so once we had unpacked our luggage we parked the car a little distance away. There are steps down to the chalet so this wouldn't be appropriate for anyone with mobility issues. The village of Oz en Oisans is all pedestrianised, with lovely bars, restaurants and a small but well stocked supermarket. The nursery slope with magic carpet and sledging area is right at the centre of the village. The car free space makes it an excellent choice for families with young children. We were travelling with our two teenage children who can't wait to go back. The ski lessons with ESF were very good, the instructor Clemont spoke excellent English and he made the lessons fun and instructive. As a beginner it was good to have an instructor who understood which runs we could manage and who helped us navigate the different types of ski lifts. This was our first time skiing and the owners, Gary and Jan were incredibly helpful in organising our trip beforehand. They made the whole experience easy, giving us the lowdown on where to rent ski equipment, helping us buy our ski passes and meeting us when we arrived at the chalet. I couldn't fault them, thank you so much Gary and Jan! We hope to visit again

Beautiful chalet with stunning views
This was our third stay in Chalet Clementine. As always, Gary was amazing with our booking, answering any requests or questions very quickly before our stay. He met us at the chalet and helped us with our luggage and bags of food shopping. The chalet is just beautiful, so warm, cosy, spotlessly clean with everything you could possibly need in there. The chalet has a lovely balcony with stunning views of the snowy mountains, and is situated in a beautiful quiet area just 5 minutes walk from the main town of Oz-en-oisans. We were on a ski holiday, so loved coming back to the chalet each night, and sitting in front of the roaring log fire, watching TV or playing games, or dozing on the comfy sofas after a busy day skiing. There is always plenty of hot water and the beds are all very comfy. We cooked all of our meals in the chalet as the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could need, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, herbs, spices, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets...you name it. The village of Oz is lovely, very small and tranquil but has everything you need eg a small supermarket, a bakery, a bar, a restaurant, souvenir shop, ski rental shops etc. We really enjoyed our stay, and will be booking again soon for our fourth visit. I would definitely recommend Chalet Clementine to everyone. It is the perfect base for a ski holiday in the Alpe d'huez area. Thank you Gary and Jan fore letting us stay in your beautiful chalet.

Comfortable,convenient and very well equipped
We had a lovely week in Chalet Clementine as a family of 7. From the start I was reassured by the friendly helpfulness of owner Gary who always responded quickly and thoroughly to my many questions. On arrival Gary was a very welcome extra pair of hands to help with our bags and mass of supermarket shopping. The chalet itself is charming with lovely views over the mountains. The bedrooms though small are well furnished with very comfortable beds . There is plenty of hot water and the bath is the perfect size and shape for a good post -ski soak. We loved sitting around in the evenings on the large squashy sofas, playing games and enjoying the fire. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. Accessing the ski area could not be easier with a drag lift at the top of a short but steep flight of stairs and we enjoyed Oz’s position in the middle of the domain. Would all love to visit again. Thank you Gary and Jan

Super chalet, perfect for the slopes
We stayed in Chalet Clementine earlier this year and had a wonderful time. This was our second time skiing in Oz and I would recommend for families - our children (8+10) really love it there. Chalet Clementine was perfect for us, it was fully equipped with everything you need and has spectacular views from the front balcony. Jan and Gary were really friendly, helpful and very communicative before we'd even arrived, and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The chalet is really homely and spacious with lovely bedrooms and was spotlessly clean. A boot store at the front door is useful for storing your ski gear. Up the steps is the small button lift with the beginners' slope taking you directly to the Poutran cabins and the Alpe d'huez area. Oz is a super village, family friendly and really peaceful. We loved staying at Chalet Clementine and hope to visit again!

Oz summer chalet
Perfect chalet for a family summer Alps holiday. It’s hard to find good accommodation big enough for family of 5 to spread out - this chalet has 4 bedrooms (one a sort of Heidi den under the eaves, gorgeous but bit warm in summer) w loads of living/dining space and a beautiful wraparound deck w stunning views. We had a terrific stay. The resort is very small, peaceful and mostly pedestrianised which we thoroughly enjoyed. Oz links w Alpe d’Huez by telecabine. Tour de France and duathlon/triathlon local events were major focus for some of the family. Also enjoyed free tennis and mini golf in the resort (book at tourist office) and walks. Gary was great to deal with - prompt responses, detailed, efficient and very kindly met us and showed us round Oz on foot. Spotless property and well equipped including basics like dishwasher tabs, binbags etc. Considering coming back for skiing!

Perfect Chalet
Just back from a weeks stay in Chalet Clementine which turned out to be perfect. The apartment was a good size for 8 people and is well-equipped throughout. The kitchen/dining area is a particularly good size and has all the facilities you will need. Shops/resturants etc. are only a very short walk away and the surrounding area is stunning with wonderful views from the apartment balcony across the valley. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to stay in this area.

Authentic cosy chalet at the foot of the slopes in Oz
We have just returned from a wonderful week at Chalet Clementine (in Oz-en-Oisans, a small, family-friendly resort with easy access to the large Alpe D'Huez domaine): it was all perfect; from the mountain views, the wood-burning stove, the boot racks/cupboard, plenty of hot water and easy access to the slopes, lifts and local amenities. To top it all, Gary and Jan (the owners, who live nearby) are exceptionally warm and generous hosts. They answered all of our questions in the months leading up to our trip and were on hand throughout the week with help and advice.
