Villa
Villa Ripoli was originally a lookout guard tower, built about the first half of the 1600 by Ferdinand II of the Medici, used by a small group of soldiers to guard against the arrival of the enemy.
Its position is about 2,5 kms from Monterchi, the last piece of the land of the Granduke of Tuscany, close to the Papal State and world famous for its frescoes by Piero della Francesca the Madonna del Parto.In 1894 Francesco Rosadi (the year of construction is sculptered on the ground floor fireplace), the grandfather of the actual owner, extended the tower, giving it the form and the dimension that we can admire today.
The 2 hectar garden is looked after with great passion by the owners. There are roses, lavanda and rosemary which fill the air with delightful, typical Tuscan perfumes, very difficult to forget.
ACCOMMODATION: the villa is 250 sqm and before we go inside we would like to admire the original structure from the outside. The form, as well as the material used, are typical of this area. Stone is the dominating material, but also wood plays its part, as does the wrought iron used in the outside furniture. The windows have been modernized, but the style fits in well with that of the villa. Some of the original wooden doors on the inside have been restored maintaining the original style. The most important part of any hospitality structure is obviously the bedrooms.
The bedrooms, all with AC, represent the highlight of the Tuscan rustic style. Wood, “cotto”, wrought iron materials. The furnishing are simple, almost severe, but this is part of the Tuscan country house. On the other hand, in the bedrooms we can find the perfect combination between rustic style and modern comforts.
On the ground floor there is a spacious well equipped kitchen, a beautiful dining room with antique fireplace and the characteristic reading room. The ground floor has: Kitchen with fridge, microwave oven, stove and burners, American coffee machine, taster, dishwasher Dining room which seats 10 people, divan and armchairs, sat TV, telephone, antique fireplace. Reading room with stereo.
On the 1st floor the guests have 4 bedrooms, tastefully furnished in Tuscan style, the beds are in wrought iron and the furnishings are antique. All have bathrooms ensuite with WC, bidet, basin, shower with thermostatic mixer.
First floor bedrooms: 2 double bedrooms, one of which can be divided into a double twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with with WC, bidet, basin, shower with thermostatic mixer. 2 twin bedrooms, which can be made into 2 double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom with WC, bidet, basin, shower with thermostatic mixer.
There is also a characteristic tower which has a separate entrance from the rest of the villa. There is a small sitting room with divan and table, a comfortable bathroom with a shower on the ground floor. On the 1sr floor there is a double bedroom with a large terrace and splendid view over the valley.

GARDEN AND SWIMMING POOL: The villa has a private swimming pool (depth 150 cm, 6x12 mts), for moments of refreshing relaxation in the summer season. The pool is surrounded by sunbeds, umbrellas and a gazebo for enjoying the summer in total privacy. It is surrounded by a large garden from which one can admire the view over the panoramic valley below, perhaps relaxing in the Jacuzzi beside the pool. Moving to a slightly lower garden level there is a delightful patio where there is “al fresco” dining table for 10 people.
For sport lovers there is a small football field (for 5), a ping pong table and lovely long walks through the oak woods which surround the property, Villa Ripoli is the ideal location for an unforgettable holiday in the middle of the Tuscan countryside.
