BEDROOMS The villa sleeps 2-12 people and boasts three spacious, master bedrooms with king size beds in each and two of the suites have an extra daybed. There is also a Maya style bunk room with 2 queens & 2 twins (usually for overflow). Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom. The two upper level master suites open to their own private terraces and enjoy expansive views of the Caribbean on one side and the lagoon on the other. The beach level suite opens onto the beachfront deck, just steps away from the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. No one draws the short straw at Casa los Pelicanos; each couple has a generous master suite to choose from. LIVING SPACES The house has separate areas indoors and outdoors where one can relax, read, sunbathe and dine. Relax, curl up and read a book under the brand new adjoining INDOOR/OUTDOOR BEACH DECK LOUNGE AND DINING ROOM (with palapa roof) while listening to the ocean or watch friends light up the BBQ. Make the most of morning tranquility with a rooftop yoga or meditation session on our newly appointed YOGA DECK. Have lunch brought to you while relaxing under the GAZEBO ON THE BEACH or on the villa's NEW SUNBATHING DECK situated on a dune overlooking the ocean (great location for evening meals!). Take cover and enjoy an afternoon merienda in the NEW STANDALONE COVERED BEACH DINING PATIO. Indulge with a sunset cocktail on the ROOFTOP TERRACE with its adjoining yoga deck with 360 degree views of jungle, lagoon and Caribbean; with its wildlife such as pelicans diving into the crystal clear ocean, frigates gliding overhead, herons, egrets, manatees, sea turtles, and even an occasional spider monkey. BE PAMPERED, RELAX AND UNWIND At Casa los Pelicanos, full daily housekeeping and an off-site Villa Manager/Concierge are included. BOARD BASIS Our in-house Chef Chari is a wonderful cook and has received numerous rave reviews praising her fresh, authentic, home style cuisine. Our hosts, Felipe and Chari can shop, prepare, cook, and serve meals for you; freeing you for a relaxing and stress free vacation in paradise. Uniquely, we charge differently than other villas, charging only a modest service fee service and you only pay for the actual food and drink you want. We provide all the services of an all-inclusive experience but also offer clients flexibility with with half-board, select meals, pre-stocking or do-it-yourself board basis options because one size doesn't fit all. In fact, with the thriving culinary scene in Tulum, most opt for a mixture of select meal service, do-it-yourself and dining out. ECO-CHIC AMENITIES The house has all the mod cons including air conditioning in all bedrooms, WiFi internet access throughout, portable bongo bluetooth audio speakers in each bedroom, HDTV, satellite television, gourmet kitchen, BBQ, unlimited fresh drinking water (no bottled water necessary), room safes for your valuables, laundry service, free use of watersports equipment, beach towels, and more. Honest Opinion
The Good: The house was decorated nicely and had a family that lived onsite to help care for it. They were very kind people. The views from the rooftop were beautiful. The three bedrooms upstairs were great as well. We loved eating dinner outside. The Bad: The room on the basement floor (bunk room) had been closed up and had a really awful mold-type smell when we arrived. It gave us a headache to even be in the space the smell was so strong. So my husband and I slept in a different room that first night as we were concerned the basement may have mold. We set up a fan to blow in the room over night and left the door open so it could air out. Unfortunately, the next morning the odor was just as strong. We made the decision to leave the house and stay at a nearby hotel. Our friends remained at the house and we drove back and forth each day to see them, which was a big inconvenience. We reported it to the host and he sent the caretakers in to clean the space again. We checked back each day and the smell remained but slowly started to ease up. By the last day we were there, the odor in the room was gone, but alas our vacation had ended. We expressed our concerns about the inconvenience and not knowing whether we had been exposed to toxic mold. The host contacted a mold specialist and had them test the room. The results came back clear. No mold. This was a relief to hear, however our trip was very much inconvenienced by this issue so we asked whether they could do a partial refund. I was accused of blackmailing them for this partial refund in exchange for a positive review, which is absolutely absurd and hurtful after we had been extremely patient with them throughout the process. Other things worth mentioning: 1. Anyone familiar with the area knows there can be a very big problem with sargasso (red seaweed). The beach was covered and the host let us know to expect that before we arrived. The caretakers were very good about shoveling out the seaweed by hand but it was a pretty big bummer to not be able to enjoy the beach. No ding on them, just the reality of the situation. See image attached. 3. The living room was very hot as there was no A/C in that space. 4. The appliances all had some issues. The fridge wouldn’t cool properly so we had to keep our raw meat in the freezer. The stove burners wouldn’t ignite so we had to use matches to light them by hand. The grill outside had a similar issue with the igniter. 5. The toilet on the main floor had issues with flushing. The lock on the door for this bathroom also wouldn’t latch properly. Overall, it was an ok trip. Next time we go to Mexico we’ll probably just opt for a hotel to avoid these sorts of issues. Not worth the hassle that we endured while we were there or the stress and accusations on my character after we returned home.

Great to stay away from COVID
The house is in a unique location. Very confortable and clean. Tastefully decorated. Chucho, Chari and the rest of the staff on site are wonderful. The food is excellent. Service is superb. We arrived two days ago and we have not met Jorge the manager yet. The house requires more investment. Maintenance is not adequate. It has seen better times. Running water system is faulty. It is impossible to take a shower. The government has forgotten the area. Three wonderful rooms with bathroom. The fourth is is in basement without windows. The beach in front is clean but around the property is full of garbage. The road to arrive is so bumpy that it takes twice the normal time to arrive.

Probably the most exclusive and beautiful holiday I’ve ever had.
It’s often the case that when looking at holiday home photographs the reality doesn’t live up to expectation. I’m happy to report that this wasn’t that case with Casa Los Pelicanos. The property is one of a handful located deep in the heart of the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. The authorities take preservation very seriously and it shows. The environment has found an almost primal balance of vegetation with a stunning virgin beach stretching for miles that literally takes your breath away.

Utterly private, the property is not overlooked by any others. The fit out is to a high-specification that feels organic and classy without creeping into ostentatious or unnecessarily cavernous. The architects have afforded the master bedrooms with beautiful views and considered the airflow that for most times obviates the need to resort to the air-conditioning leading to more natural, refreshing sleep and rest.

The living quarters have been designed in such a way as the property can accommodate a reasonably large party without individual groups feeling like they’re tripping over each other. This, I would imagine, makes a prolonged stay much more comfortable for those in a position to take long vacations. I spent most of my time at the property but did visit the rather Bohemian Tulum sat on the periphery of the reserve. It’s trendy, interesting and feels safe and has plenty to keep those inclined to wholesome activities such as Yoga or partying happy. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great house Great location.
Wonderful house. Well equipped, beautiful beach, great living and relaxing spaces. Very well maintained. An oasis of calm away from it all. Excellant management and helpers. The family who looks after the house are the best. We have been coming to the Sian Kaan reserve for over 15 years and they are at the top. Lovely people, fantastic cooks, hard workers and very thoughtful. We came for our sons wedding in Tulum beach and were very happy we stayed at Casa Los Pelicanos fir the second time. I would highly reccomend it.

Never wanted to leave!
My husband and I booked this location for our honeymoon. Driving in to the property you go through a cute little part of town with inviting restaurants and boutiques and beautiful ocean views. When we arrived the friendly staff had a delicious dinner prepared and the house itself is breathtaking! The view from each window was serene and the interior is well kept and homey. You can watch the sun rise over the ocean and set over the lagoon from the roof top! We spent some lazy days at the private beach and other days filled with adventure from fishing, kayaking, zip lining, and scuba diving. The staff made up fresh ceviche with the fish we caught! We had such a wonderful experience staying at this property and will definitely be returning! Thank you Casa De Los Pelicanos!

Overall I loved this place. The home is perfect for a group of three couples and the bunk room would be fine for children. The home is very clean and well maintained. Our group didn't require much but whatever we did ask for Chucho and Chari did a great job providing. They are a wonderful asset to this home. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you need and more. The built in gas grill was awesome, I always wanted to grill while staring at the sea. Sunsets from the roof were outstanding. For those of you considering this home but wondering about the drive...its really no big deal, I was able to reach the arch in 12 minutes and a trip to the Chedraui took 35 minutes depending on beach road traffic. You're really only 15 minutes from a restaurant. For many of you and including our group as well, the seclusion is what draws you to this home. Unfortunately seclusion brings me to its only downfall. It's not the fault of anyone but human kind in general. Due to how remote this home is, the plastic on the beach was everywhere and this was very disturbing to me. However Chuco does a great job taking care of the area in front of the home. Alan and Valorie were wonderful to correspond with and answered all questions promptly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casa de Los Pelicanos to anyone.

Could not have asked for more!
I had such a long list of things that I wanted to see when planning our trip to Tulum, but as soon as I arrived at Casa de los Pelicanos, I quickly realized that I would be foolish to venture far because we had found paradise! The house was perfect for our two families (4 adults/4 kids). Powder soft sand on a beach in which we saw only one other person the entire week and Chucho and Chari cooked amazing food for us each day. Treat yourself and go!

Truly outstanding and unforgettable
We stayed 7 days in Casa de los Pelicanos in March 2014. Absolutely fantastic. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. We found this place on the internet and all the reviews looked good so we went ahead and booked it. We usually stay in hotels so this was our first time to stay in a private villa and rent directly from the owner. Needless to say, it was awesome. We had high expectations and this exceeded them. The location is great, you are fairly close to Tulum, but far enough away to be away from it all. There are 6 kilometers of dirt road to get to the house and it's a bumpy road, so that stretch is about a 15 minute drive. But you are all by yourself. On a 'busy' day we might see 10 people total the entire day. Some days we would see two or three people walking on the beach the entire day. There aren't many places left where you can get that kind of peaceful seclusion. And the beach itself is fantastic, truly world class. The house is very well decorated, very nice, very clean and makes you feel like you are staying in a really luxurious place. We are a family of eight and we had plenty of room. There are basically 3 master bedrooms and a bunk room with 4 beds in it. So this home would work well for 3 couples with one or two kids each as well. The service was excellent as well. The owner was very responsive and very helpful. The housekeepers were very polite and made some really good meals. There really wasn't any negative aspect to our stay. One of the best vacations our family has ever had. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautifully appointed, gorgeous!!
We stayed for a week on our honeymoon. The home is spectacular! Beautifully appointed, quality craftsmanship, gorgeous! To have a beach where we only saw two people walking by one day - was heaven!! The water is warm and wonderful for swimming. I cannot say enough good things about this property - we absolutely loved it! The caretakers were very sweet... I highly recommend this property for anyone wishing to get away from it all in luxury!
