The Annex is a simple semi detatched self catering apartment ideal for a couple,we can consider a couple with a small child also.The downstairs is open plan with a small kitchen and living area,there is also a small patio outside for those who wish to eat outside.The upstairs is a bedroom with balcony and a bathroom with hot water shower,toilet and wash hand basin.We are also ready to assist with any inquiry that you may have as it concerns things to do,and to see on Praslin, We can also provide car hire rentals,and organise boat excursions.<BR>We also provide transfer service for a small additional fee (it includes picking up and dropping off.)

Very nice accomodation
We enjoyed our stay at the Annex very much. It is a perfect self-catering accomodation pour 2 people who like to stay in calm place next to nature. The seaside with two beautiful beaches is just some steps away. The owner is very pleasant.

Great spot for a nature lover
John and Veronique are lovely. John picked us up at the ferry, arranged a car rental and even made reservations at a local restaurant for a special celebratory dinner we wanted. The flat is clean, safe, and well maintained. As expected for the low price of the rental (and believe me in the Seychelles this is good value), the accommodations are bare bones and you are expected to provide your own salt, pepper, oil, dish soap, etc. WiFi is available via a pre-paid voucher. This is not a complaint, just a heads up so that you can come prepared.
The flat is located at the top of a hill between two beaches. The snorkelling was excellent and we saw a hawksbill turtle our first time out. There are lots of trees surrounding the flat and we had visits by the Seychelles kestrel, blue pigeons and many bulbuls. We even saw a tenrec in the undergrowth at the side of the road. There were mosquitoes as one would expect in the tropics, but the beauty of this flat is that at night you can shut the window and turn on the air conditioner for a bug-free and humidity-free sleep.
Anse La Blague feels less "touristy" than other parts of Praslin which suited us perfectly. We bought fresh fish from a local fisherman and had a wonderful dinner of grilled fish using the small charcoal grill on the property. Following the advice of other visitors, we took the trail from Anse La Blague to Anse La Farine. The trail starts near the end of the road. It is the first trail on your right across from the sign pointing back to Anse La Blague. If a hike is about a destination, this was an immersion into a lush tropical forest with the bonus of a beautiful coral beach at the end. It is a bit of a challenging trail, especially if you are like us, in our 50s with creaky knees, but definitely worth it. Be warned that there is an abandoned hotel to the right of the beach at Anse La Farine, so you will want to keep to the left (unless creepy hotels is your thing).
To make the most of your time on Praslin you will want to rent a car to get around. We especially recommend visits to Anse Lazio and the Vallee de Mai Nature Reserve.

This review is excellent and vividly describes the sort of holiday you may expect to have when staying in this, still unspoilt, part of Praslin.Denyse and Carole made the most of their short stay and I am confident they will return one day!

Quiet and Peaceful place
House ideally located for a peaceful stay!
Two nice beaches (sun and shade, not overpopulated and calm tide).
But the best is the view of the cove from the street of the house.
Small shop and small restaurant (with wifi) very close.

There is, in fact, wi-fi in the apartment which is available on payment of a small fee using a prepaid voucher.

Very quiet and neat self-catering house
Anse la blague is a beautiful non crowded beach. It has everything you need in a 5 minutes walk area : a shop for you to buy groceries and an excellent restaurant nearby when you don't feel like cooking.
John and Véronique are great hosts and helped us book our excursions / taxi / ...

Beautiful located, away of touristic hotspots
Nice owner who is looking for any questions. The location is nearly at the end of the street, a rental car is needed. it's a calm place with a beautiful view through some trees to the sea > sunrise! Big rooms

Was braucht man mehr?!?
Geräumige, angenehme Wohnung an einem ruhiggelegenen Teil der Insel. Der wenig frequentierte Strand eignet sich gut zum Baden.
Die Gastgeberfamilie war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuverlässig.
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Friendly family-run apartment
We had a pleasant stay at the Annex in March, many thanks to our host and his family
The host, John, treated us really well. We rented a nice car from him one day for 45 Euros, including gas. John also helped us obtain fish from a local fisherman, and provided us with a constant flow of bananas. He also drove us to the ferry when we left Praslin.
The location Anse La Blague is a bit isolated from the rest of Praslin. It offers a decent beach, but no stores of restaurants. To go somewhere, you need to catch the bus, or drive a car. We weren't interested in having a car all of the time, and the busses only departed about 5 times daily from Anse La Blague. John offered us transportation over the hill, which really helped us. Once over the hill, it's easy to either hitchhike or get on a bus.
The apartment itself is really what you could expect from a budget accomodation. It has a nice AC, providing for nice sleep. We cooked a lot of food in the kitchen, which does its job. The bathroom is clean and has a nice shower. You will find some insects in the apartment, but hey; it's a tropical country?!
In summary, the accomodation is in budget-range, is well run, and benefits from a friendly host. You will need to plan how to get around the island, since it's a bit isolated.

Accueillant, tres sympathique et parfaite localisation
J'ai beaucoup apprecie mon sejour a "l'Annex Self Catering Apartment". Les proprietaires ont ete chaleureux, bienveillants et au service de leur clients. La localisation etait parfaite pour aller prendre un bain a la mer a n'importe quelle heure du jour ou de la nuit et l'appartement etait fonctionnel et propre.

Absolut nicht zu empfehlen
Die Wohnung war schon bei Einzug schmutzig. Überall an den Decken und Wänden waren Fliegennester. Der Geschirrschrank war verdreckt und roch extrem modrig. Der Besteckkasten voll mit toten Fliegen und Krümeln. Der Wasserkocher innen dunkelbraun und roch nach verbranntem Plastic. Wurde trotz Beschwerde nicht ausgetauscht.
Es wurde entgegen der Absprache nicht ein einziges Mal sauber gemacht. Der Vermieter (Brite) erklärte uns ,der Schmutz wäre Standard auf den Seychellen! Er ließ uns voll auflaufen. Die Handtücher rochen schon nach dem ersten Abtrocknen. Wir waren auch in zwei anderen Unterkünften auf den Seychellen im selben Preisniveau und es war peinlichst sauber, wir haben uns da immer wohlgefühlt und diese Unterkünfte wurden von Seychellois geführt.
Kurz: wir fanden den Zustand und wie mit uns umgegangen wurde skandalös.

Some of his comments may stem from ignorance.
In line with Seychelles strict policies on the environment, we never use insecticides to control flying insects, as this could have serious consequences for the bird population.The Annex is surrounded by trees and natural vegetation which encourages flying insects.
I wonder if this couple have ever left Europe before?
Have they visited any region close to the equator......I think not.
Some of their other criticisms are derisory and childish.
