Siamo stati ospiti in questa splendida villa immersa in campagna nel piccolo villaggio di Douliana a circa 25 km da Chania . Manolis e suo figlio Dimitri sono stati molto disponibili e gentili. Consigliata a chi cerca pace e tranquillità a pochi passi dalle vicine spiagge di Kalyves e Almiryda. Torneremo sicuramente.

Manoli's House is even more beautiful than it appears in the photos. It is spacious, comfortable, and surrounded by beauty. It is truly difficult to describe in words the extraordinary sound of nature. Manoli himself, a quiet, modest, and generous man, is a retired carpenter - the interior of the house is all his work. He is also a wine maker, and brings by the products from his land - eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, apricots, figs... The village of Douliana is small and beautiful, with a great Taverna, offering a variety of authentic and tasty dishes. This is a place to return to...

We arrived very late on a stormy night to a warm welcome at this lovely cottage. As a family of 5 the cottage was well equipped and perfect for our needs. The location was excellent with a short drive to the beach and local towns. The garden was lovely and peaceful. The village has a friendly taverna where we are out twice.

Douliana village is lost in time. Its people are authentic and smilling. We had a good quality time in mr Manolis property. The house is fabulus and quiet. Recomended

We found the place quite easy athough it is literaly hidden.` Besides that `mr manolis was very caring and helpful into advising us for local walks and directions. The house was clean, and the we had everything we could possible need in order to cook or to prepare a fast meal. One of our fond memories was the morning ,Waking up with all these happy birds around you. The house has also a pool that is really surpising you`, We did not expect a pool in the woods. We stayed at the Stone Cottage for 6 nights, and it was one of the best times we had in Greece. Mr Manolis takes a lot of pride in the property and it shows. It is well maintained and every day he takes care of the pool and garden. Douliana is a quiet and beautiful village and we enjoy walking through it. The local taverna serves really yummy food and there is also a cafe and cafenio. The place has a very authentic feel and interacting with the locals made our stay extra special. In the morning fish and bread vans go through the village, which I bought some fish from once - with the help of the girl from the cafe where we were having breakfast. The cottage itself has two levels and each level is rented out separately. There was a couple in the lower level for part of the time we were there, but it still felt private. The rooms were a good size apart from the loft which is probably better suited for children. However, we quite liked the loft so we were able to squeeze in up there. The whole place was clean and also had lots of areas for outdoor living, such as the balcony and pool area. I really wished we could have stayed a bit longer as it's a very peaceful spot with lots of trees and bird life. I can definitely recommend it as a good place to have a holiday. Also, it's quite well positioned about 10 mins from the national road so you have easy access to the rest of the region.

The first thing we recall from Crete is Manolis House. We were lucky to stay in this little hidden stone house. Douliana is a wonderfull place. Recomended!

If you wish relaxed family vacations, you are on the right spot. We had great time. Children loved the free bikes and we loved the safe alleys. In general, Manolis House is as the description. Quiet and easy going.

I stayed 3 days with my girlfriend, wanted to be somewhere quiet. We are most satisfied with this cottage, how clean it was and the staff was excellent! Although it was off the beaten track, in a quiet area, we enjoyed walking in nearby paths, cycling, and observing the flaura and fauna of Crete. Will definitely come back to stay another time, its an excellent getaway in nature! Highly recomended!

Strongly recomended for those who seek simplicity. Manolis house has all that it says. Plus the typical cretan hospitality of his owners. Looking forward to come back some time.
