Not really satisfied
Disappointed. The 2nd bedroom had no storage of any kind. No dresser or closet. We were left only one towel per person which would be okay if you had a way to dry them after washing. Amenities were very minimal. And absolutely no parking. The windows all need to be cleaned. The furniture is for little people not for men that are 6 ft. tall. Very uncomfortable. The house itself is cute and close to the baths.

Architektonisch ansprechende Unterkunft mit kleinen Macken
Das Haus machte auf uns auf den ersten Blick einen Super-Eindruck. Erstes Manko: in einem Schlafraum konnte man die Tür nicht oder nur durch Verrücken des Bettes schließen. Ablagemöglichkeiten dort: Fehlanzeige! Immerhin gab es im anderen Schlafraum einen Schrank. Zweites Problem: die untere Duschkabine war undicht, so dass das austretende Wasser nicht oder nur äußerst schlecht abtrocknen konnte. Schön wären in beiden Bädern außerdem mehr Ablagen und Trockenmöglichkeiten für Duschtücher gewesen. Der Wohn- und Essbereich war ansonsten OK.
Fazit: Für zwei Pärchen ziemlich ungeeignet, für Familie mit Kindern OK.

Perfekte Unterkunft in Furnas
Sehr schöne Unterkunft in Furnas - direkt neben Poça da Dona Beija einem Thermalbad. Eintritt 4 und man kann den ganzen Tag (oder besser morgens und abends jeweils ein Stunde) hier verbinden. Da Furnas mitten in einem Geotheralfeld liegt gibt es viele Ausflugsmöglichkeiten, auch um die umliegenden Bergen und den Ostteil der Insel zu erkunden.

Excelente situación. Poca intimidad en habitaciones.Muy limpio.
La casa es muy bonita.Bien equipada.Casi te puedes tirar A las piscinas termales desde la terraza.Situada en un Valle precioso.Terraza muy cuca con sol por la mañana, ideal para los desayunos en esta época. A mi gusto necesita un sofá más cómodo pues el que hay parece de jardín . Tiene dos baños pero no te puedes duchar a la vez pues no llega el agua caliente a la ducha del piso superior.Tiene dos habitaciones pero no las recomiendo para dos parejas pues no tienen mucha intimidad.Limpieza impecable. Cafetera nesspreso. Parking público gratuito al lado.WiFi con muy bien funcionamiento.Paulo es amabilisimo y atiende a cualquier cosa que necesites. Te dan ' dos juegos de llaves,muy útiles cuando viajas con amigos. Te dejan café, té y dulces para cuando llegas, también te dejan aceite, sal, azúcar,vinagre, detergente, servilletas,etc.artículos de primera necesidad.

Localização fantástica
A casa tem uma localização muito boa e foi fácil de encontrar pois fica junto aos banhos termais Poça da Dona Beija que estão bem indicados pela aldeia. A casa está bem equipada e gostamos muito de tomar o pequeno almoço no balcão. Tem uma mercearia próxima e nas Furnas há vários restaurantes

The property is good value for money and we very much enjoyed our stay.
Casa das Furnas was a well equipped holiday rental. It is situated right next door to the thermal baths so you can go there at 8am and have the whole place to yourselves! The constant sound of running water was very soothing. We were glad we stayed in Furnas as it is a good place in its own right and for exploring the rest of the island.
Paulo gave good advice by email in answer to our questions and he was very welcoming when we arrived.
We only had one issue during our stay that we had to consult Paulo about and that was to do with parking. A member of staff from the thermal baths told us (in a not very friendly manner) that we weren't allowed to use the pool car park so for the last few days we had to park outside the house. Access is narrow, steep and awkward and there were two other cars parking there overnight.

Thank you for your nice comments, we hope to see you soon. Yes, going to the thermal baths in the morning and being alone in the pools is a really nice experience. I'm glad that you were able to park right outside the house as it is steep and narrow if other car is parked there (not easy when you are driving a car you are not used to). We usually recommend other alternatives to park along the main road 50m from the house.

Big house with great views and close proximity to warm swimming pools
This house is located just some steps from hot swimming pools, it is a modern building with several balconies, bathrooms, a small garden and a place to sit outside. You can even make barbeque. The house is equipped with all necessary devises. However the fridge is quite small and if you stay for a long time in a big company, it can be too small. Close to the place you can find only small shops. The disadvantage was a noise of the running water (of hot swimming pools) during the night. The rest was just excellent

Thanks for your comments, you are welcome to come back anytime. I understand that for some people the noise of running water is not so relaxing as for others. Although windows are double glazing you will always hear the water on the silent of the night.
As the fridge is integrated in the bottom cabinets (for design reasons), it is not big but it is probably enough for 3 or 4 days stock (for 4 persons). Also the grocery store in the main road (50m) has all sorts of goods and opens everyday at 8am.

Casa Das Furnas exceeded all our expectations
Furnas is like paradise on earth and Casa Das Furnas is the best place to enjoy your time there.
You should not leave Sao Miguel without spending some time in this magnificent village. and I would highly recommend anyone visiting this area to stay at Casa Das Furnas.
When choosing accommodations I have three main goals: clean, comfortable and good location. Casa Das Furnas exceeded all my expectations. It was more beautiful than I imagined. It is clean, bright (stunning views from the large windows), comfortable, spacious and tastefully decorated. I could go on and on about the beauty of this place. There was more than enough room for my family of 4 and the two bathrooms were a bonus! The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a bbq for grilling outside. The location is excellent. It is within walking distance to restaurants, bakeries, thermal pools geysers, etc. During our stay there was a man on the corner of the street selling corn which was boiled in the ground. The best corn we have ever had!
Every morning we would enjoy breakfast and an espresso on the deck at Casa Das Furnas, while listening to the peaceful sounds of the creek and the birds and admiring the beautiful garden and picturesque views. At the end of a long day of site seeing we would sit on the beautiful deck and relax with a glass of wine and then go next door for a dip in the natural hot pools.
The host of Casa Das Furnas was very helpful, and knowledgeable of the area, recommending sites to see and beaches to go to and responded quickly to any questions we had.
Furnas is a must see and Casa Das Furnas is a must stay. It couldn't get any better than this! We will be back!!!

Highly recommended!
So glad we found this place. Not sure why there are so few reviews. Staying at the Casas das Furnas was really enjoyable. It's located in a wonderful setting at the edge of town and next to the hot pools of Poca da Beija (only 2 euros entrance fee). There is a master bedroom with a queen bed and another bedroom with two twin beds side by side. The beds, at least in the master bedroom, are definitely firm so I folded up the mattress pad and blanket under the sheets to make it more comfortable. There is a three night minimum stay. I recommend booking through Trip Advisor because you can pay via pay pal. At the other booking sites, it seemed like you needed to give your bank account number since no credit cards are accepted (which in general seems to be common at many shops and restaurants so be prepared!) Paulo, the owner, met us promptly at the designated time to give us the keys and a detailed tour of the place. We kept the car parked in the lot for Poca da Beija which is a stone's throw from Casas das Furnas. I recommend packing a towel for the various hot springs on the island. You can walk pretty much anywhere in the town. Right down the street is a nice grocery (does accept credit cards), and several restaurants and cafes (we particularly enjoyed Café Atlantido and Summer Breeze). The lodging is two floors with the bedrooms and one bath upstairs and the kitchen/dining/living area and another bathroom on the main floor. My son and I used the upstairs bath and my husband used the downstairs one. There are sliding glass doors leading to porches on both floors. There is a microwave, fridge, stovetop, oven, espresso machine, and outdoor grill. There were some basic food items in the kitchen (coffee, tea, spices, jam etc.) and any other items could be picked up in grocery down the street. There is a television on the first floor. Internet is available but limited so don't plan on streaming movies but we were able to use it for Skype and internet searches, etc. Furnas is a great home base for several days. Terra Nostra garden and hot pool is walking distance and if you like to hike, you can take a hike right from the house to Furnas lake. We actually hiked around the lake in a few hours which was very pleasant. Rebeira Quente with it's black sand beach is a short drive south. I think staying at the Casas das Furnas helped contribute to a truly memorable Azores experience.

Probably the best place to stay in Azores
Very relaxing place, surrounded by nature! If you are looking to relaxing places this is for sure one of the best places to stay in Azores from Summer to Winter. Have Poça da Beja, furnas and nice restaurants just a few steps!
For sure i will be back!! ;)
