Tara is a tastefully furnished three story, four bedroom, four bathroom villa located in Sunset Crest, St. James, Barbados. A charming community next to prestigous Sandy Lane Estate within walking distance to beaches, supermarket, restaurants, bar/nightclubs and retail shopping on the famous West Coast of Barbados at Holetown. In addition, Tara is minutes from the new Lime Grove Mall with its fabulous designer retail stores, duty free shopping, restaurants and entertainment spots.

Tara is a tastefully furnished three story, four bedroom, four bathroom villa located in Sunset Crest, St. James, Barbados. A charming community next to prestigous Sandy Lane Estate within walking distance to beaches, supermarket, restaurants, bar/nightclubs and retail shopping on the famous West Coast of Barbados at Holetown. In addition, Tara is minutes from the new Lime Grove Mall with its fabulous designer retail stores, duty free shopping, restaurants and entertainment spots.
The master bedroom has a king size bed, two others have queen size beds and one has two twin beds. Each bedroom is air conditioned and equipped with a safe for securing valuables. All of the windows at Tara are screened so that if you prefer, you can enjoy the lovely Caribbean breeze wafting across Tara in the evenings. On the main level, double French doors open onto a lovely covered patio, sundeck and pool together with a covered gazebo area, perfect for relaxing during the day or enjoying a cocktail at sunset. Dining can be indoors or out with seating in the indoor dining room or outside under the covered patio next to the pool.
Tara is well equipped with air conditioning in all bedrooms, wireless internet and TV’s in three of the bedrooms as well as a large screen TV located in the media room adjacent to the fourth bedroom. Tara is beautifully and meticulously landscaped with a bountiful tropical garden lovely to look at and a source of privacy at the property.
In addition to the pool located on site and a short walk to the beach, during your stay at Tara you will have access to the 50 foot swimming pool, beach and tennis courts (at owner rates) owned by the Sunset Crest Property Owners Association (SCPO) of which we are members. Just take the SCPO membership card with you.
Tara is a family friendly home equally suitable for couples to get away or for a family with children. Two of the bedrooms at Tara are located on the main level so that elder guests need not worry about climbing stairs.
Tara is lovely but its greatest assets are the people who put a face to the home and welcome you to enjoy your stay to the utmost. Merle, our cook, and Aranda, our maid/laundress will take care of your every need six days a week with charm and good humor. Try Merle’s chicken curry, macaroni pie and rum punch!!

7 adults stayed at Villa Tara for 2 weeks. The location is fantastic - 5 minute walk to the new Massey grocery story and then walk across the street to the beach. Our cook Merle was amazing - her cooking was better than most restaurants - we only wish she would give us more ideas of what she can make - we had to scour the little book in the villa to find out from others what we should request! There is lots of room for a large group and we spent every meal and evening on the huge deck. The house was kept spotless and our clothes and towels were washed every day - we couldn't have been more spoiled. When the air conditioning quit in the master bedroom, as soon as we contacted the building manager it was quickly fixed. We rented a van and were glad that we did as we tried a different beach every day. They provided plenty of beach towels and a large cooler to do just that. Holetown has everything that you need and the local people were wonderful. I don't think we could have stayed at a better location.I would highly recommend Villa Tara and we will definitely book it when we return to Barbados.

Great experience
Spent a week here with 7 people from two different generations. One group came to participate in Kadooment and another just wanted a "holiday." The property is exactly as featured in the photos. It is very "homey" while also a bit upscale. Although the beach is about a 10-15 minute walk away, the splash pool is a nice alternative.
The staff is very attentive. Merle, the cook, is amazing. And Ramanda, ensures that the house is in order.
One suggestion to future guests: Let the concierge arrange to pick up and deliver your groceries. I thought it would be easier to do it myself since I was already on the island, but in the long run I realized the 15% service charge is worth it.
In the end, everyone was pleased.

Beautiful villa, convenient location
Spent 2 weeks with family and friends. The villa is gorgeous and extremely close to the center of Holetown (maximum a 5 minute walk to the grocery store and Surfside beach). I have stayed at many villas in Holetown over the years and this was probably the best location (unless you can afford a villa direct on the beach). We had morning visits on most days from the local monkeys (they use the back fence as a highway). Merle and Aranda (I hope I spelt her name correctly) took very good care of us the whole time and we really appreciated the hard work and long hours they put in. The local Property Manager (Michelle) was also helpful and accommodating especially given that we kept calling her because people kept locking themselves out of their safe (the local rum punch will make you do silly things if taken in large enough quantities). I would have given the villa an excellent rating except for 1 thing (although it is not the villa's fault). The neighbor next door is probably the most unpleasant person I have ever dealt with. Our first introduction to him was at about 8PM on our second night when he shoved his head through the bushes and started yelling we were being too loud. Granted we were having a good time but not so loud as to deserve such treatment. Had he been polite we would have been very accommodating and understanding. I could go on and on about the different "encounters" with him but suffice it to say, any noise level above what you hear in a library will get a reaction from him - no matter what the time of day is...We did eventually learn how to deal with him, and what initial upset us we now see as funny memories and stories to tell our friends, so I would definitely go back. Just wanted to give everyone fair warning ;-)
