Paradise
We stayed a week in this slice of paradise. Jane and Elvis treated us like family from the moment we arrived. Snorkelling and sea glass “hunting” were excellent...right on your doorstep! Situated right between Grande Anse beach and St. George’s, it was easy to walk to both, or hop on one of the frequent busses. Comfy beds and well supplied unit with bonus of veranda for beautiful sunsets was all we could ask for. Topps beach shack for lunch or dinner next door was also enjoyable! Lots of excursions on the island..we did the catamaran/beach barbecue which was a great, fun day out on the water. It’s hard to leave this spot to explore though!. Would (and will) return or recommend this slice of heaven in a heartbeat.

Loved It
Found Sea Glass Place searching for accommodations for a quickly planned trip to Grenada. Our first visit to this island. Elvis and Jane were wonderful. It was a pleasure enjoying their companionship during our visit. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The small barbecue grill was a real plus. We enjoyed sitting on the deck every night watching the sun go down. Very nice small beach with some decent snorkeling that we used frequently. We rented a car and toured most of the island visiting different beaches and some of the waterfalls. Driving the serpentine roads of Grenada was quite an experience! Sea Glass Place will be our first option for any return trips to Grenada.

Perfect location; wonderful hosts
Sea Glass Place is ideally located just a short walk from Grand Anse beach and Port Louis. Local buses run frequently and can transport you to local stores and restaurants. You have great views of the ocean, sunsets and the active port in the distance from your own porch. The main attraction is your own beach just a few steps away from your comfortable and clean apartment. Hosts Jane and Elvis treat their guests like family and, as locals, provide great suggestions for dining. They will also help you arrange other activities such as a sunset sail or snorkeling excursion. This is our second visit and we have already booked a third stay.

A little bit of Heaven
My husband and I spent a month in the Starfruit apartment in Sea Glass Place, our second visit. Everything a person could want for a nice pampered vacation! If I needed something, next thing I knew Jane would be at our door with it. I just can’t say enough about our super hosts Jane and Elvis, very helpful with information on the island, they want to ensure the best vacation ever. All the people on the island are very friendly, never worried about going anywhere.
The location of Seaglass is so perfect, buses outside your door or if you’re a walker.....close to everything, groceries, beach’s, restaurants, etc. Be sure to stop in to the bakery in Port Louis marina on the way to St George’s.....best ever Cinnamon buns!
Thanks again Jane and Elvis, see you again soon

Perfect stay
We stayed at Sea Glass place for a week as part of our girls holiday, and what a great time we had in Grenada! Elvis and Jane gave us a very warm welcome and had an extensive visitor's guide to all that we could do and all the best places to eat while in Grenada. We made the most of our time and even got to enjoy a lunch out with Elvis and Jane that my friends and I turned into an evening out too! The facilities and situation of Sea Glass place are idyllic, with it's private beach and (Gin!) terrace where you can watch amazing sunsets.
Sorry for the delay in writing this review Elvis and Jane, we are still on a high thinking about our Girls on Tour trip to Grenada!! Thanks again - Esther Mac from whisky filled Scotland :)

The best place to stay on Grenada
11 Glorious days at Sea Glass Place. Elvis and Jane ( the perfect hosts) welcomed us into their beautiful property on the end of spectacular Grande Anse Beach. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Star Fruit apartment which was very spacious and comfortable. We slept well, watched the sunsets from our private verandah and afterwards, when darkness fell, enjoyed the smart TV into the evening and had, simply a wonderful time. We have already booked for next year - when you find a gem you keep with it. Thank you Elvis and Jane for a wonderful experience our batteries are now recharged as we sit writing this in 2 degrees celsius in London.

Sad to leave!
Our stay at Sea Glass was great! Elvis and Jane were gracious and helpful hosts, they helped us set up an affordable custom tour, gave us a free rum lesson (which made he ferry ride to Carriacou less fun the next morning!) and brought us the best roti from a lady who sells out everyday. Their backyard paradise is truly unique and was the most memorable part of our entire vacation. We were able to make "island sangria" using almost exclusively fruit from trees in their yard and enjoyed the private beach with late night skinny dipping. It was a short walk to Grand Anse beach and the convenience of the 24 hour bus route, shops and bars a stone's throw away was key. The apartment itself was clean and well equipped. I would be hugely disappointed when we return to Grenada (which we will) if we could not stay here. On a slightly different note, for those who read this far into the review, Grenada changed me. The people here need to be so proud of who they are as a culture and the rest of the world should take note. Being Canadian, we are often thought of as polite and tolerant. The folks in Grenada take this to the next level, they are overly polite and accommodating and they truly treat people, including each other the way everyone would want to be treated. I cannot thank everyone that we met enough for making this one of the best vacations of my life! Much love and respect!

Superbe! Magical and Paradise on earth:)
Je recommande hautement cet endroit pour passer un sejour de rêve à Grenada! I highly recommend Sea Glass Place! It is truly a magical place with the most amazing views, the best hosts and excellent facilities. The best is the private beach at the foot of the property with shimmering turquoise waters. Elvis and Jane have done an outstanding job at providing unbeatable accomodation to anyone lucky enough to stay Sea Glass. Many thanks from myself and Kim!

Hands down - the BEST place to stay while in Grenada!
You must get here as soon as possible! I really don't want to tell people about this place, as I want to keep it a secret. However, I think that Elvis and Jane are awesome people and that they live in an amazing place, so you should go see them! We stayed in 3 different places (Sea Glass, Bogles Round House - Carriacou, Petite Anse) for four nights at each place and out of the three Sea Glass Place was my absolute favorite place to stay. I would go back here in a heartbeat.
We spent 4 lovely nights at Sea Glass. Everything was absolutely perfect for us. Elvis and Jane arranged for a cab (Kerry) to pick us up from the airport. Our plane arrived late and it took a long time to get through customs, so we were super happy to see his face once we got through all of it. He stopped by the grocery store on the way from the airport to Sea Glass, so we could pick up some things to have at the apartment. Once we arrived at Sea Glass we were met with big smiles from Jane and Elvis. Jane showed us all around the two bedroom apartment and gave us a very thorough briefing on the place and surrounding area. I cannot tell you what a difference this really makes, as I've stayed at places where they barely tell you anything. She was super informative, as well as the information book that's in the apartment for guests. I loved that she even went over evacuation in case of a fire and showed us where the other exit was located. When I say thorough I mean thorough!
We stayed in the Star Fruit Apartment which had an large open room with one queen bed, a small table, dresser that was open (divided by a small wall) to the kitchen area which also had a small sofa. Then there were folding doors to another bedroom with another queen bed. There was a shared bathroom for both rooms. There is a lot of storage in the bedroom - closet, dresser and night stands. This allows you to "move in" to the room and unpack if you'd like to. The kitchen is good sized and stocked with everything you would need for cooking. We did make breakfast daily at the apartment. The balcony had a table with chairs and other reclining chairs. The view up there is fantastic at all hours of the day! We enjoyed eating breakfasts on the balcony as well as watching sunsets. The sunsets are out of this world! They also already have clotheslines strung across the balcony as well. We really appreciated this, as we usually bring our own to string up to dry all of our wet clothes. The apartment also comes equipped with two mini ACs - one in each bedroom. We did use it at night, as my husband prefers AC. However, during the day we had all of the windows open and it was very nice. I probably would have been fine not using it, but...sometimes I have to let him get his way!
The grounds are really amazing. The whole area is beautifully landscaped on a hill. There are several decks where you can lounge around and look at the incredible view. They are also stocked with a variety of floatie toys and kayaks that you can take out in the water. It is like having your own private beach when you stay here. As the way the trees jet out from the shore, it sort of divides it from the Grand Anse Beach. Every day we were there we swam and/or snorkeled out front of the house. There is actually really great snorkeling just to the north of the house along the rocks. We saw some small coral formations, lots of urchins, tons of smaller fish, lionfish, and squid. Did I mention that they have really nice beach towels emblazoned with Sea Glass Place on them that you can use there or for your excursions where a towel might be needed? This is also one of those "small" details that I really appreciated about SGP.
Another super convenient thing about SGP is where it is located. It's far enough removed from all the giant resorts, so you aren't bombarded with tons of people and noise. So it feels like you're far from things, but it's right off the main road that can take you to anything you'd possibly want - other than the relaxation you'll find at Sea Glass Place. So to catch a bus all we needed to do was to just start walking down the road toward Grand Anse and we'd get picked up almost right away. It's only $1 US ($2.5 EC) to ride the bus. Riding the bus was probably one of my most favorite things to do while on Grenada! It's such a great way to get up close and personal with locals. I love the crazy fast drivers with their loud soca and dancehall reggae music playing. It was cheap and convenient to take the bus, so we did everywhere we went, unless we wanted to walk like we did to the Spice Market one night. Also, one day we wanted to visit the BBC Beach (Mourne Rouge Bay) and we had heard that if you pay a bus driver a little more that they will take you there. When we were close to the mall we found a guy, Chrisopher (404-2100) that did just that for the three of us for $10. Not only did he take us there, but he said he'd come back for us when we were ready to be done. We had the bar - La Plywood - call him for us and sure enough he showed right back up! You should definitely call him up - he's my favorite local bus driver there on Grenada.
Jane and Elvis are some of the friendliest and kindest people I have met. They are on property (as they live on the upper floor of the house) and available for questions at any time. Elvis and I had several chats while floating out front. He gave great advice for places to eat in the area and places to visit. He can tell you where to find the best mojito and the best fish tacos in Grenada! He also gave us advice on where to go shopping for a swimsuit when my daughter's broke on the trip. My daughter and I both had some mosquito bites that were pretty itchy and when I asked about going to a pharmacy to get some anti-itch cream he suggested using aloe vera. He promptly cut us off a very big chunk from his plant! It worked amazingly! So much so, that I think I need to try to grow some here in Colorado! He also gave us enough, that I saved some of it in a ziplock and took it with us to Carriacou, so it was the gift that kept giving! I cannot speak highly enough of Jane and Elvis, as I started corresponding and inquiring about six months prior to our actual trip. They were so kind and prompt with their responses to all of my questions. I knew that this would be the perfect place to stay based on this initial contact with them and I was not wrong.
I'm just so grateful that we "found" this place on Tripadvisor. As, typically we stay at small hotels or B&B's that are 10 rooms or less. So I don't normally look under "property rentals" or "apartment rentals" or "vacation rentals." I think someone had mentioned Sea Glass Place in a forum on TA and that's how I initially found them.
A little bit about the way we travel:
*We hate huge hotels. The smaller the place to stay the better.
*We do not like "all-inclusive" types of places, as we like to get to experience the culture, the people and the food of a place that we're visiting.
*Our accommodations are usually $100 or less a night and usually are just a step up from camping type of quality. Most have no AC.
I will say that we were pleasantly surprised with Sea Glass Place. I could already tell from the photos that we would like the place, but I had no idea how much we'd LOVE it and how sad I'd feel when we were leaving there. This is such an amazing value, as it was slightly higher than what we normally pay, but the accommodations and service from Elvis/Jane are way above what we're normally used to.
Thank you so much for the fantastic visit! We loved everything about it. I think the only thing that *might* make it better is if you add a hammock to the deck for the apartment. I love having a hammock I can lay in while listening to the ocean and taking in a beautiful view. We look forward to seeing you again, Jane and Elvis!
