Villa Alexander is a 200 year old converted barn in the village of Pasalites to the east of Rethymnon in Crete. Designed as a studio style, it is ideally suited to a couple who wish a quiet base from which to explore the island of Crete. It has great ambience and character and is conveniently located near to Rethymnon as well as historical sites.
The villa has a private courtyard garden, with a genuine well and garden seating, shaded by fruit trees. A child cot can be provided on request. The courtyard is closed in so it is safe for toddlers. Parking is on the road outside.
The villa is 15 minutes from the beaches at Panormo, 60 minutes from Heraklion, and 30 minutes from Rethymnon. The historical sites of Melidoni caves, Eleftherna, Arkadia and the fort at Rethymnon are a short distance away by car. The famous site of Knossos is near Heraklion, so within easy driving distance.
This is a great area for cycling, walking and painting/photography holidays. The village is typically Greek, full of friendly and helpful locals.

Mountainous but ideal for walking and cycling. Antiquities such as Eleftherna are a 10 minute drive away, and Rethymnon with its fort, shops and cafe culture a 30 minute drive. The famous Melidoni cave, and Olive Oil factory is 10 minutes away.
The area is lush even in summer, and has stunning views to the south to mount Psiloritis, the home of Zeus! The village boasts a 13thC church, and a newly renovated main square.
