The Dovecote is an exceptionally well renovated and furnished barn conversion based in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Luxury self-catering retreat. Based on a small working farm just on the out skirts of a small country village. Easy to access and find from both the A ONE and the M ONE. With ample car parking space and a view onto an open field which the children can play or the dogs can stretch there legs and a court yard for ball games. On the front of the house is a patio to relax in the fresh country air with tables and chairs. Leading onto the fully fitted kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a large sitting room / dinning room with doors which can be opened onto the patio. With an open hall way and a downstairs toilet and shower room. On the ground floor is one of the first bedrooms which is a single bedroom but if required does have another bed underneath which can be turned into a double room. Leading up the stairs is the main double bedroom and the family bathroom. Another two rooms are on the first floor, one is a single room and another is a twin room. All fitted with wardrobes cupboards and mirrors. Sleeps 6 Guests (7 Guests One pull Out bed If Needed) There is a lovely local pub just down the road which serves great food. Also in the next village just a 10min walk or a minute drive is the local shop and Post Office which sells fresh local bread and our eggs which are from the Lodge Barns Farm Yard. Fiskerton village also has another great local pub and an award winning Indian restaurant. Near by is the Southwell Racecourse which also has a fantastic golf course. The historic town of Southwell is one of the hidden gems of Nottinghamshire. It is dominated by its historic Minster, which dates back to the 12th century. Southwell Minster, Southwell. Near the Minster was villa in Roman times. Nearby are the ruins of the palace of the archbishops of York dating back to the 14th century.

At the other end of the town is Burgage Green. Adjoining the green is Burgage Manor where the young Byron stayed with his mother in the early part of the 19th century. Dogs are welcome.

Re/booking due to Covid restrictions
Unfortunately we had to cancel our 4 night stay at Dovecote Barns due to Covid restrictions. We are trying to communicate with the manager to re-arrange for same dates this year 2021. Although they have already accepted to let us carry forward our booking they have not yet replied to my email asking for the same dates this year. Hoping they will agree to this. Wonderful Christmas Stay
We booked Dovecote for an extended family Christmas to enable us to be close to other family members in the area. It was cosy and welcoming with a lighted tree and outdoor decorations. There were ample pots, pans, dishes and cutlery to serve up a 3 course Christmas dinner for 11 people and, with the additional table provided, plenty of space to eat together.

Lovely barn conversion in a peaceful location.
A lovely place to spend the night before our daughter's wedding. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Everything we needed for a relaxing start to the wedding frenzy.

Birthday treat
A lovely evening with a group of friends.for a birthday celebration. BEAUTIFUL place.home from home and more. Television was a little small.but had dvd player. The kitchen had everything and more well equipped. Bathrooms and toilets were perfect clean Beautiful country scenery. Television was is very small .

Dovecote is a lively house with excellent facilities Lively position in a working farm with other accommodation Very peaceful with lovely walks from the house We rented the house for our family as our son was getting married locally It was great

Fantastic place to stay
Our family of 6 adults and 3 children had a brilliant time staying in the barn. It was spacious and very well equipped with everything we needed. A travel cot and high chair were set up already. The beds were comfortable and towels amazingly fluffy !! We would certainly recommend it for a place to explore the Nottingham area. Thank you.

Lovely weekend!
The cottage was just as described. The outdoor space was fantastic for the three young children we had with us. We had lovely weather too! We would recommend and return.

wededing weekend
Lovely clean house well equiped . outside space good pubs nearby were good . If I had to be picky internet poor, downstairs shower just ok and only given 2 toilet rolls for 3 night stay for 6 but lovely cottage would definately book again , Very pleasant people to book thro

Yes internet in this area slow, currently updating it in the village and then hope to join it so we get a better connection. We do stock more loo roll in the barn its just in the draws by the bathroom door and shall get the shower downstairs looked into to improve it. Thank You Amanda, Lodge Barns

Excellent accommodation
