The Whitehouse is an extended tradiitonal stone-built forest cottage locate in the Forest of Dean village of Pillowell overlooking the forest. Two minutes walk from the front door takes you to an extensive range of forest tracks. Beautiful setting at any time of year. The cottage has 5 bedrooms (one with en suite bathroom) and sleeps up to 10 comfortably. There is a large garden on 3 sides and a double garage with further off-street parking for 2 additional cars. Within easy reach of Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat and the Wye valley, S. and mid-Wales. Ideal base for exploring forest either on foot, bike, horseback or car.

We stayed in the Whitehouse as a group of 10 adults and 2 young children (< 6 months old) in November and we had a wonderful time. Great place to stay with children and family, very big, great value for money and a very homely feel, absolutely loved it and the owners are very helpful!

The forest of Dean has been populated at least since Roman times and is of great historic interest retaining vestiges of its varied past as a centre for charcoal-burning, iron and coal mining and forestry.
