A lovely detached wooden chalet in the grounds of the owner's property, near the rural village of Canonbie, half a mile from the border with England. This cosy and relaxing bolthole for two offers open plan studio accommodation and looks out over farmland and a large pond. Perfection
What a lovely week we have just spent in this compact little cabin. Stuart is so welcoming and friendly. Everywhere is so easily accessible from towns to coast to peaceful isolation. The hot tub is a wonderful touch. Thank you all for making us so welcome and blowing us away with the kind gesture for Rick's birthday.

What a superb place
Absolutely tranquil. The hosts are amazing. We was greeted. Everything explained how it works. Places to go. Everything thought of to help our stay a more stress free one, even down to what takeaways will deliver and which ones to avoid. Hot tub on the balcony underneath an open fronted roofed veranda. Very peaceful area surrounded by trees and countryside with a lovely view of a large pond with an abundance of wildlife. The only thing that this place lacked was a guest book as I would have loved to write in it and leave a glowing tribute.

A true gem!
The Cabin is a little slice of Heaven for those wanting a quiet retreat with all the comforts of home, and more!! The view from the hot tub was beautiful and the veranda was the perfect place to finish a long day with a glass of wine! Loved my stay at The Cabin and can't wait to go back! HINTS - have a walk around the pond, watch for visiting deer and switch off your phone! You won't regret a visit!

Fabulous!!
I booked this lodge as a surprise for my partners 50th birthday and was not disappointed. Didn't think we would make it due to the worst snow storm we've ever experienced. However, we dug ourselves out, braved the elements and we beat the "beast from the east". It was so worth the effort!!! Arrived at the lodge and was welcomed by Stuart who was so lovely and informative. The lodge itself is immaculately clean, warm and welcoming. You have the feeling of being totally secluded and never thought I'd see myself sitting in a hot tub in -3° with glass in hand and a new interest in wildlife!!! My partner loved his surprise. Cannot recommend enough. Would also recommend a visit to the Cross Keys, Canonbie for food. All home made and delicious!! Would definitely book this lodge again!

Excellent
Excellent cabin, owners were lovely with leaving leaflets about the best places to go in the nearest town along with giving tips on places to avoid. They left nice small touches such as dressing gowns, chocolates for my boyfriends birthday would definitely go back the hot tub topped it off.

Perfect place to relax
The Cabin has all the essentials you could need and the addition of the hot tub made this the perfect place to relax. It is well located in a tranquil spot but near to a good road network to allow easy access to all the nearby places of interest. We even managed a day trip to the Lake District! The owner Stuart met us on the first day to explain how everything worked. He helpfully recommended a few places worth visiting and after that we were left to enjoy. The cabin was very clean and warm.

About the neighborhood
Excellent Fishing The Border Esk, one of Scotland's finest salmon and sea trout rivers is only a short walk from North Lodge. Daily or weekly fishing permits are available and we'd be delighted to prepare packed lunches on request. There's fantastic opportunities for cyclists and walkers with short and long routes throughout the area, we can help prepare you for a day's activities by providing an excellent Scottish breakfast to set you up for the day. What's on nearby? Canonbie – The village of Canonbie is located just over 1 mile north of the Scottish border and has a population of over 400 people. Canonbie sits on the River Esk and many people come to fish for salmon or sea trout. The history of the locality goes back many years to the time of the Reivers and the river and village were immortalised by Sir Walter Scott in his poem 'The Young Lochinvar'. It was during the reign of David 1st (1124 – 1153) that the priory was founded, and from this Canonbie got its name 'the town of Canons'. Being in the very heart of the debateable lands during turbulent times, it appears that Lord Wharton destroyed the Priory in his notorious raid after the battle of Solway Moss in 1542.
