Not just dog friendly, doggie first!
What a breath of fresh air for your four legged friend to be welcomed properly, rather than accomodated. We booked Cosaig Cottage after a recommendation on a doggy blog and I am so glad we did, we've already rebooked. Everything you need for a great holiday with your dog is provided, bowls, blankets, towels, walks, balls, local enclosed fields, a perfect garden for quick toilet breaks and even doggy snacks. As well as Marlow the Whippet being well provided for, we loved how well equipped the kitchen was (noticeably better from most airbnbs), space outside for washing and drying our muddy boots, comfortable cosy space for relaxing after long walks, lovely hot showers and fab amenities right on our doorstep.

Home from Home
This was our first visit to Cosaig, but not the last. This has been a horrible year for us all, with holidays being cancelled and re-scheduled, luckily this one could go ahead. Obviously we are all a little apprehensive about leaving our homes and going in to another property, however, we did not have that worry here.
Jennifer has already advised us that she was keeping the week before guests stay and the week after free, enabling proper cleaning procedures to take place, with little risk to the guest. We were more than happy with this approach. There was sanitisers at both doors, masks available if needed and lots of cleaning products to enable you to clean surfaces if necessary. We didn't feel the need, as we could tell the thought and care that had gone in to the preparations for us to arrive.
The cottage is like home from home, as soon as we walked in we felt at ease. Lovely comfy furnishings and beds. Plenty of storage space in bedrooms too. Two shower rooms, one being suitable for disabled, as it was a wet room. Products like hand wash and even shower gel was also provided and a full itinerary was provided before arriving, so you didn't need to double pack, things like hairdryers etc.
The many fabulous walks straight from the doorstep, meant that we only used our car on one occassion, to visit Montrose. The scenery all around you is stunning and Jennifer provides paperwork on walks in the local area and even maps. There are loads of cycle routes everywhere too, for basic and more adventurous trails.
We never got to use the garden, but that has furniture and is totally enclosed, should you take a dog. There was also a lockable store for bikes. We loved feeding and watching the loads of birds that come in to the garden daily.
The town is just straight through the gate, so easy access for many local shops, cafes, restaurants, takeaways and pubs.
All in all you couldn't find a nicer place to stay, in our opinion and we have stayed at many in our time. All that's left to say is, if you want a clean relaxing place to stay, with lots to do straight from your door, don't hesitate in booking this cottage.

Cosy home from home
Cosaig cottage is a cosy, well equipped home from home that is properly dog friendly not just dog tolerant. From the first point of contact Jennifer was friendly and welcoming even recommending where we could safely take Rory our greyhound for some off lead exercise. Innerleithen itself is stunning. We enoyed some lovely walks and the views really did take your breathaway. As well as cooking in the well equipped kitchen we enjoyed several meals at The Traquair Arms Hotel which is a short walk from the cottage. There are local shops and a reasonably sized Co-op on the high street so you will not starve or go thirsty. We had a fabulous week at Cosaig cottage and will definitely return to this gorgeous part of the world.

Welcoming home-from-home!
Had a fab break at Cosaig over Christmas and would recommend it to absolutely anyone. Really well set up to accommodate a huge variety of needs, and the location makes the most of the area and all the mountain biking it has to offer which was why we were there, you can leave the car and ride to both the Innerleithen and Glentress trail centres.
Super friendly host and a lovely cottage that truly felt like a home from home with everything you can think of - better equipped than my own house! :)
Dogs are really welcome here which definitely felt like a big difference to somewhere that just tolerates them, the little touches like toys, blankets and biscuits went down very well.
All in all a real gem, wouldn't hesitate to book it again, thank you Jennifer!

Fantastic dog-friendly cottage
I have just returned from a fantastic stay in the Borders with my greyhound.
Cosaig cottage is well positioned to explore the area. Within Innerleithen itself we were both welcomed into local cafe Loulabelles and other shops. I also need to mention the Tontine Hotel in Peebles - Paddy was welcomed with treats and water. Such a nice touch. The forest walks were fantastic, even in slightly drizzly weather. Paddy has a great time exploring.
The cottage is well supplied with everything you may need - human and canine! The welcome basket from Jennifer and her greyhound Luke was lovely. We even had an advent calendar. Jennifer was easily contactable for any advice as needed and even came on a walk with Luke and her sister to show us a local off-lead field for Paddy.
I would highly recommend this cottage to all people with dogs or without.
I certainly am looking at dates to book again next year!
The first photo is the Caerlee Hill looking down on the cottage, the second is Paddy at Tontine Hotel, Peebles, the third is Paddy on the sofa with throws provided at Cosaig and the final one is Paddy looking down on Leithen water from Pirn Hill.

What more could you want, the perfect stay.
A very cosy cottage in a lovely location, the views are stunning there is so much to see and do in and around the area an absolute mecca for mountain biking and walkers too.
Cosaig has everything you will ever need to make your stay as comfortable as possible a real home from home.
The cottage is tucked neatly behind the main street easily accessible via a pathway from the back door, there are various shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways so eating and drinking is not a problem.
Should you wish to self cater there is the local coop a butcher a baker and probably a candle stick maker not forgetting a very well stocked veg shop called the "allotment" which is also the post office.
All in all everything to make a holiday a holiday to remember, and if you have a dog even better they too are well catered for with everything you can imagine to spoil you pooch!
