Cottage
Plover Cottage is over 200 years old and was completely refurbished in 2016. We were awarded a Gold Award by Quality in Tourism in 2016. We were also voted Most Dog Friendly Self Catering Cottage in the New Forest in 2018. We now have a We’re Good to Go certificate from Visit England and the AA Covid Confident accreditation to show that we are complying with all necessary guidelines in the wake of Covid19. The cottage has two double bedrooms and a shower room on the first floor and kitchen, living room and dining area downstairs. We have a lovely courtyard garden which is a real sun trap and is ideal for eating breakfast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The cottage is ideally located in the heart of Milford on Sea, five minutes walk from the beach and with shops and pub...Plover Cottage is over 200 years old and was completely refurbished in 2016. We are dog friendly and welcome one large or two small dogs in the cottage,we request that they do not go upstairs or on the sofa or chair. We do not recommend that small children stay at the property as there are uneven floors in the property, it is perfectly suitable for older children however.

Another wonderful stay!
It was great to be back at Plover Cottage again and visting Milford on Sea after a 3yr break. We would usually visit twice a year until Covid happened. Plover Cottage is so lovely and never fails to disappoint us. Always very sad to leave. Dog friendly too which is an absolute bonus for us. Can't wait to book in again for next year!

Lovely Dog Friendly Cosy Cottage.
Lovely centrally located within easy walking distance of the whole village. Very comfortable and the dogs loved it. Nice little sun trap in the garden to chill with a coffee and pastry from Freshwater just a few doors down.

Our second visit because it is such a wonderful place!
We stayed here last year and loved the cottage so much we came back again. Clean, comfortable, well equipped, fabulous location, dedicated parking....and genuinely dog-friendly. Milford on sea is a little gem, somehow busy and quiet at the same time. Well located for walks, eating in or out and close to bigger towns. Lymington market on Saturday is well worth a visit. Great communication from the hosts makes this easy to recommend for every reason!

Lovely little cottage
Located in the quiet village of Milford on Sea, and very close to all amenities, Plover Cottage gave us a restful and comfortable stay. It is very well equiped and thoughtfully arranged for the enjoyment of visitors, and not least the dog. We enjoyed our first visit, and ate out most days, as there are good pubs (we used The Smugglers Inn a lot!), cafes and restaurants just a few steps from the cottage. We hope to visit again.

excellent dog friendly cottage in a perfect location
This detached cottage is in a perfect location to explore the Milford on Sea and the surrounding area and beaches. The cottage is full of character , with a good sized kitchen, shower room and two small but double bedrooms, the living room was perfect for two. The owners have really gone out of their way to make the property pet friendly and our two dogs loved the holiday as much as we did The off road parking was really useful as was the small outdoor area that is a wonderful sun trap We would have no hesitation in recommending Plover Cottage and do hope to stay there again in the future.

Perfect
We have just returned from our two week stay at Plover Cottage. The cottage is perfect. It was comfortable and in an excellent position for walks to Sturt Pond and the coast. Flora the dog is missing Milford already.

Another fantastic stay
My 4th visit to plover cottage and it never fails to disappoint. Can’t fault anything the cottage is always clean, beds are really comfy and bath robes provided. Nice to see that since my last visit in the summer that the tv has been upgraded to a larger screen. Milford on sea has great pubs and restaurants. Great location for getting out and about for lovely long walks either by the sea or in the new forest. Will definitely be back for another visit.

2nd visit to wonderful cottage did not disappoint
Not often we return to the same place, but because we had such a good time previously we booked another long weekend at Plover Cottage. So pleased to find that the cottage still has everything you need and on arrival was spotlessly clean. The location of the cottage could not be better with great restaurants, bars and cafes only a few steps away. The owners make it easy to book, respond very quickly and provide all the info you need. We shall be booking a 3rd trip in 2022 for sure.

Cosy cottage with walks straight from the door
We've stayed here a number of times and are always so pleased to return to this warm and homely cottage. Always beautifully clean and the bathroom shower is excellent! A must after long windy walks along the nearby coastal path. No carpets downstairs to worry about which makes for a relaxing stay with our dog. (We live in a bungalow and our dog does not do stairs!) Kitchen is well-equipped and wifi is great. Excellent location in village centre and only 10mins' walk to the sea. Perfect.

Very clean with everything you would want for a welcome break
Close to village center with lots of places to eat and shop. Only a 10 minute walk to beach as well, so perfect for a long weekend, and with off-road parking for one car. Takes dogs and is a great location for lots of walks. Beds a bit small (we are both quite tall 6' 1" & 5' 10"), but could not fault the accommodation otherwise. Very clean, and because we visited in December, was nice & warm too. We would recommend it for a couple with up to two small children, but it might feel a bit small with more than say three adults. Lovely otherwise and recommended.

There are buses from Milford to Lymington and Bournemouth and during the summer the tourist buses run taking in various sights in the forest.

The nearest railway station is New Milton only 1 3/4 hours from London Waterloo and with plenty of taxis it is only ten minutes by car to Milford on Sea, alternatively get the bus from the station to Milford. We have off street parking next to the cottage and provide a parking clock for local car parks during your stay.
