Summary

Wyck Beacon is a large country house, set in more than two acres of gardens, in the heart of the Cotswold’s rolling countryside. Despite the tranquil setting, the house is only 3 miles from the beautiful market towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water, and is a short drive or cross-country walk from The Feathered Nest Country Inn, winner of the AA Pub of the Year (England) 2011.

We loved our stay at Wyck Beacon House for my father's 90th birthday celebrations. It accommodated all the family easily and we especially liked the spacious dining room with very large table - excellent for all the family meals. The lounge is also huge. The bedrooms were lovely and all had comfortable beds, and everywhere was warm. The weather wasn't...

This property is in a superb scenic area with plenty of local attractions for all the family. The house itself is unique in its furnishings, very eclectic mix of old and new. Comfortable and welcoming. I would highly recommend the property. there are tired ares but generally its superb.

Thank you for a lovely stay. The place is bright, grand and fun. As you walk around there are various items for you to look at and find. We've been here 2 nights and keep finding new things to look at such as paintings, chairs and sculptures. Pros: For the majority the property is clean and very tidy. Stunning views...

About the neighborhood
The Rissingtons:

There are four Rissington villages located close to each other:

- Wyck Rissington: The village name translates from the Saxon as “A building of special significance on a hill covered with brushwood”. It is a small village, with a number of attractive traditional-style Cotswold stone dwellings. In the early 1890s composer Gustav Holst, at the age of 17, was the resident organist for the church - the organ that Holst played is still in use;

- Great Rissington: Home to the ever popular “Lamb Inn”, Great Rissington is another small village, with many attractive Cotswold stone cottages;

- Little Rissington: The village is forever associated with RAF Litttle Rissington, a Second World War and Cold War air base located close by. The main attraction is the 12th century...
