Our cottage is situated in the idyllic Welsh countryside. The property is in the village of Dinas Mawddwy in the heart of Snowdonia. It has the obligatory village pub which is the heart of the community and serves good quality food. There is also a Community run coffee shop with Wi-Fi facilities .
The cottage is also only 25 minutes from the coast, which makes a lovely day out .
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage, had everything we needed and the benefit of wifi,if required. Owner contact was brilliant and questions answered promptly. Views are amazing, plenty of village walks, very friendly village, pub, cafe, mill and garden centre all wonderful additions to a quiet stay. Nice central location for an aray of activities, Barmouth bay is 30 min drive, best fish n chips weve had in a long time, fabulous ice cream and great value too. Would love to return sometime.

Truly a "charming" cottage
The cottage was lovely, cosy and comfortable and very homely. Felt completely at home there. I particularly liked the log burner, which took me back to my childhood days, when we had an open fire! Well equipped with everything you might need (bar an umbrella!) , comfortable beds. Very close to the venue for the wedding we were attending, so very convenient. Local people were very friendly, too. Great food at the Red Lion, just down the road, which again, was a welcoming place. Would certainly recommend to friends and family. The owner responded promptly to my queries. All in all we had a great time.

Comfy, great location
Cosy traditional stone cottage. As it has exposed stone floors, it can get chilly, the main heating is plug in oil filled radiators which take a bit of getting used to. Also a nice log burner which is good when it gets going, so brush up on your fire lighting skills!
Great location close to main road for quick access to other areas, although can't hear the main road traffic. Handy parking outside cottage.
Nice kitchen, great oven & hob, although no freezer or microwave. Buy your provisions before you arrive. Good TV with Netflix, which was a nice surprise. Patchy mobile signal (you are in the mountains after all), but good WiFi.
Comfortable beds, nice size bedrooms, although shower in the corner isn't for everyone.
Garden area is up exceptionally steep stairs.
Property is sensibly priced for a nice quiet cottage and close (but not too close) to the main road.

A house which lives up to its name.
What a lovely cottage to have had the pleasure of staying in for our last minute 4 night break in Southern Snowdonia.
Mark is a great host - he gave us all the information we needed prior to arrival and it was a welcome sight when we arrived at Bodlondeb to find a warm welcome with Welsh Cakes to go with our coffee after our 2hr drive.
The property is a charming period stone and slate welsh terraced house, with two bedrooms, an en-suite shower in the master bedroom, plus small bathroom upstairs and an open plan lounge & kitchen downstairs. The house is decorated and furnished to a good level of finish. There is a terraced garden at the rear, which we didn't get round to looking at I have to say! There is a very welcome feel to the property.
Dinas Mawddwy is a good base for exploring Mid/North Wales. The weather wasn't so great the next day, so we followed our fair weather noses and headed over to the Llyn Peninsular and Aberdaron, only 60 miles away to explore some of the wonderful Wales Coastal Path.
Fortunately for us the weather improved for our second day so we then did a 14 mile walk from the cottage, coming back via the stunning Cwm Cywarch (better to walk down than up...) and being on the Mach loop, we were 'buzzed' by a pair of F15s - happy days!
It was really nice to then walk back to the cottage, put a fire in the multi fuel burner and relax into the evening.
I was very sad to be going home, as I really felt at home in the cottage, perfectly named Bodlondeb. Looking forward to our next visit!

Cottage Dinas Mawddwy
We had an enjoyable time staying at the cottage. It had the basic amenities along with a few extras such as WiFi and Netflix (came in handy after a climb up Snowdon). Communication with the owner was excellent. The village is small and friendly and the local pub serves excellent food.

Traditional Welsh Cottage
This cottage is perfect for dog owners and walkers. It has all the traditional look you would want and is tastefully styled but has a relaxed feel with easy to brush down stone floors and comfortable furniture. With the supply of wood and big burner you can have a cosy fire at night too. The kitchen is great for cooks with a big farmhouse table. We didn't do the steep garden but it has a covered area for drying stuff and there is a small beautiful common by a stream only 3 minutes away ( please be a responsible dog owner!). If that's not enough there are several superb walks on the doorstep or within a mile or two by car. Added to that a great pub with inexpensive home cooked food and the homeliest cafe in North Wales 100m up the street. Being close to the A road (no noise though) makes getting to places much quicker, a real consideration in Wales.
For us perfect for an attractive easy going cottage with maximum opportunities

Amazing location
Beautiful Welsh cottage, very homely and well equipped. The location is amazing, perfect for walking our dog. The views from the cottage were lovely, especially the back garden if you dare to go up the steep steps, its worth it! We were very lucky with the weather but imagine its very cosy in winter with the log burner. The neighbours & everyone you meet in the village were so welcoming & friendly. We ate in the Red lion all 3 nights we were there so highly recommended. And the cafe did fab coffee & cakes.
Would definitely stay here again. Thank you Mark for letting out your quaint cottage.

Loved our stay! Cosy, well equipped cottage.
This is the first cottage stay I've ever done. I was hoping for an authentic Welsh cottage and that's exactly what I got.
As soon as I walked through the door I was wowed! It has a cosy feel and immediately felt at home and comfortable for our week there.
There really is everything you need for your stay. Logs for fire aplenty. Hair dryer. Pristine white towels. Very clean bed linen. Tea towels washing up liquid, cleaning cloths and equipment, etc. . Nice clean fridge with room for your chilled foods. Bring starter food as there isn't really a corner shop in village but there's a huge co_op in Machynlleth 20minutes or so away.
The log fire is great and the extra heaters help on the colder nights.
Unfortunately this year May thought it was February and we got mist, rain, high winds and fortunately one or two sunny days. We ate out(and I do mean out.. Outside seating only_at The legendary Red Lion pub every night. The welcome there is lovely and friendly and the food consistently good. The weather only defeated us on one day but we cooked in on that impressive aga style electric oven in the cottage and hunkered down by the log burner and watched Netflix movies. WiFi was great in the cottage as was the T. V.
The coffee shop up the road is very inexpensive and serves very, very good coffee and amazing lemon cake.
Everyone in the village is really friendly and welcoming. We walked the circular walk opposite cottage once or twice a day and loved the views.
Our dog had but a bit of chub on during lockdown and now she's looking a bit healthier for all her lovely, long walks that she really enjoyed.
The beauty of the place is truly breathtaking.it's peaceful quiet and soothing. I would never tire of those views in the valley there. Jets and military aircraft fly across some days but that's just a bit of interest and excitement, not a problem.
Mark, the owner replied to our emails almost instantly and was helpful.
The description of the cottage is accurate. Would certainly love to stay there again as it feels like a home from home.

Stayed here for a week and found the cottage to be absolutely charming and full of character. The log burner was a welcomed bonus on a chilly evening. The cottage was clean and felt very homely. It is situated in a stunning location which is absolutely perfect for all outdoor activities. We easily filled our week with bike rides and walking, taking in all the breathtaking scenery. The cottage is in a small, but welcoming village and the pub, The Red Lion, is excellent. Very friendly locals who made us feel so welcome, great food and lots of great advice on places to visit. Would definitely love to visit again.
