We were the first family to stay in the house since the lifting of lockdown last week and since it has been modified so there were teething issues with rural retreats before we arrived. These were handled well by Mark who looked after us during our visit.
Overall this is a nice residence with an incredible view. We were greeted by a generous welcome basket and the place had lots of small touches which made the stay more enjoyable such as the wood burner, BBQ, seating outside next to the lake. The house had all of the amenities you would expect for a residence of this calibre and more. There were was plenty to do with for the kids such as table tennis table, magnetic darts, board games etc.. There were even good quality face masks provided which was a pleasant surprise. Having two wifi ports were a bonus too as you never lost signal.
There were however some small drawbacks. There was and still remains a fly problem next to the windows which was an issue and something we would not expect given the money spent on the place. Also there was a leak in the kitchen from the upstairs bathtub although this was handled by the team very well. Furthermore my wife and mother were locked in the downstairs bathroom due to a faulty door handle. Also the new sofa arrangements did make sitting as a family more difficult.
Despite these issues, given that we were the first family in the residence we felt it didn't detract from our experience and still throughly enjoyed our stay.
